The President Broken Angel

The following day, 9:30 AM. Jhonia paces her room while waiting for Orean. She decided to sit on the extended couch while she waited but after some time Orean had yet to show up! Jhonia lay down and soon fell into deep sleep!

“Yes, this is really important and you’re turning.. Huh? It’s past midnight you already did. Happy birthday, sweetie.” Her mother said, smiling at her.

“There’s a big surprise waiting for you, my Jhoni-ni. You can see Charles, he’s your favourite cousin is he not?” Her father said to her with a smile and then asked her.

“Dad? Can we turn around?” Jhonia asked.

“Why?” Her father asks with curiosity.

“I suddenly don’t like the ide”

Jhonia was cut off by the sudden hit from another car suddenly hitting their car from behind. Her father began speeding up and away from the other car that is quickly catching up to them.

“They found us.” Her mother said, in a panicking tone of voice.

“We will lose them.” Her father said.

“Mom, what’s happening?” Jhonia asks? Sounding scared.

“Sweetie mom and dad got into trouble with some very bad people.” Her mother tries to explain briefly. The car was hit again and harder than before.

“Mom, what did you do?” Jhonia asked her mother, in tears, her voice trembled.

“Honey we weren’t really poor but your dad got into some trouble with a company. It cost us a lot! Listen to me Jhonia and stop looking behind, Jhonia!” Her mother was explaining but the moment she looked behind her, her mother yelled her attention.

“Yes mom.” She finally turned around!

“A book?” Jhonia asked?

“Keep it with you at all times, open it and read it when you’re ready, everything you need to know is inside the book! But not now, right now you need to strap yourself in your seat. Quickly.” Her mother said, shouting at her. Jhonia watch dropped! a gift from her 17th birthday and from her mother, she reached down for it when ! Bang! She quickly grabbed the watch and pulled back and strapped her seatbelt.

In that second she noticed a hole in the head of her father’s car seat! Her mother was screaming. She looked back and saw the bullet hole in the back of the car window. The car was hit again much harder and the next thing she knew… Was that the car was flipping. Things seemed to move in slow motion for her as she couldn’t believe her eyes. “DAD!!!!” Jhonia cried out as she sat up from her dream.

“… That’s not how I remember it, did I forget some important details? Which company dad got in trouble with? Mom, what’s happening? I need answers.” Jhonia questions herself! Her entire body is wet from her daytime dream of memory, memories of which she seems to have forgotten! The door was knocked on… Unaware of her sweats and terrified look Jhonia got up and walked over and opened the door… She fainted!

“Jhonia!” Tianjie yelled as Jhonia collapsed on the floor, Tianjie helped her back to the couch and feel her temperature.

“She’s running a fever, Jhonia, why aren’t you taking care of yourself?” Tianjie said then asked her. She then picks up her phone to inform the girls about Jhonia’s condition, as she thought Crissian would want to know that she’s ill as well as Mrs. Pinnock. She went to the kitchen after informing everyone of Jhonia high fever, she set water to warm then went to the bathroom to get a towel to wipe her down. While doing so Tianjie realized Jhonia isn’t just doing unwell she’s having a terrible dream!

“Jhonia, wake up! It’s just a dream.” Tianjie said, shaking her to wake up! However, it was no use.

“Jhonia it’s just a dream, thats”

“Mom… No!.. Don’t touch her! Mom! … Who are they? Mom! No, don’t leave me… Mom!!!” Jhonia words from her dream, cut off Tianjie who is in tears and now hugging her.

“It’s okay, it’s going to be okay, some day and I will be here! Right here with you Jhonia, for now just wake up! Please! Please wake up!” Tianjie said, Jhonia who had opened her eyes in tears and hearing Tianjie sobbing as she spoke, begging her to wake up!

“I’m awake!” Jhonia said and Tianjie hugged her tighter.

“You can cry if you want, okay? Cry cause I’m here, and I’ll wipe your tears. I am here for you and to wipe your eyes.” Tianjie told her she could cry, she said to Jhonia who laid within the couch.

“It’s okay, please get up!” Jhonia said to her but she hesitated!

“It’s okay.” Jhonia said to assure her it was really okay. Tianjie raised back, kneeling down on her knees, where sat , wiping her down.

“Why aren’t you taking care of yourself, Jhonia?” With tears in her eyes, Tianjie asked?

“I’m. It’s just that this time around is sensitive for me, I told you guys I don’t celebrate my birthday… It’s because on that day my parents died! Thursday is my father’s birthday day, I’m just”

“It’s okay, I understand. Just rest these days. Okay? Also in a few why don’t you shower and change from these they’re wet and I will cook you up sometime to eat. Mmm?” Tianjie cut her off and said to her, she told Jhonia to rest, also to shower and change because she is wet, she added she was going to cook her something. Jhonia nodded!

“I have already cooked, how about you heat it?” Jhonia said quickly then asked her, as she remembered she had cooked herself a meal.

“Okay.” Tianjie said getting up, taking the bowl which she took from the bathroom to wipe down Jhonia. Jhonia sighed after she left trying to remember when she came but even that faded and she didn’t know why? After sometime she went to the bathroom, undressed and hit the shower where she stood under the water letting it wash her down. After the shower she went out and the girls were all there including Crissian.

“What happened?” Jhonia asked, looking at them as she dried her hair standing in her bathrobe.

“I told them you were running a fever, Mrs. Pinnock is on her way as well and she said she has to make a stop!” Tianjie said, explaining why they’re there. Suddenly, the door opens and Jhonia looks over at the door.

“I’m here and I bought groceries… Sweetie, tell me why are you running a fever, huh? What happened? Tell me?” Mrs. Pinnock said, taking a moment before she began asking her questions.

“I’m fine now, it was just a fever.” Jhonia said as she walked off to go help her with the bags.

“Let us take the bags Mrs. Pinnock, Jhonia, why don’t you go and get dressed!” Madiea said to Mrs. Pinnock, then said to Jhonia.

“Okay.” Jhonia said and left them to get dressed!

“Ah, my baby. She’s so sensitive this time around she even had a fever.” Mrs. Pinnock said after she sighed.

“It’s natural Mrs. Pinnock don’t worry she will get better soon, some day.” Nielle said with a smile, looking at the door space to Jhonia’s room. Jhonia returned and they all sat and ate… They talked with each other, and cheered up Jhonia for the time being.
