Chapter 1900 Nightmare
"This was an accident..." Elijah comforted softly.
"It's not an accident." Sally's face turned pale as she shook her head. "If I hadn't tried to save Daisy, or
if only I had taken Micah out of the monastery last time, he wouldn't have died."
Finishing her words, Sally gazed up at Elijah, her tears streaming.
"I'm the one who's responsible for Micah's death!"
The unbearable pain in her heart finally became too much, and Sally wailed in despair.
Elijah moved quickly to embrace her, assuring her tenderly, "It's not your fault... It's really not your
fault..."
He didn't know if Sally listened to him, and she continued to cry uncontrollably.
As the sun began to set, Nigel came and informed Sally and Elijah that it was Micah's final night of the
salvation ceremony, and asked them if they wanted to go.
Sally got up and washed her face. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Accompanied by Elijah, he returned to the ceremony.
All the monks had gathered in the monastery and were seated on the futon, praying for Micah.
Sally stayed in the corner and gazed upon Micah's portrait, tears streaming down her face.
Elijah was next to her, praying for Micah with everyone.
The night gradually deepened, and then the sky slowly transitioned from darkness to the mark of dawn,
marking the end of the last night's ceremony.
Micah, having no family, had his small urn sent to the columbarium in the monastery.
Brett, wiping the urn repeatedly with a clean handkerchief, carefully placed the ashes inside.
Then, the monks in the monastery left one after another.
Only Sally and Elijah were left.
Sally walked closer.
In the columbarium, there were small cubicles with photos of the deceased.
Micah's photo was his ID picture from when he applied for his ID card.
Sally delicately reached for it, gently caressing the photo in front of her.
She had a lot to say and a lot of questions to ask.
In her heart, Sally wanted to ask him if he was scared, if he was in pain, or if he was angry with her.
No matter how hard she tried to vocalize her questions, she failed to utter a single word.
The whole day and night, Sally seemed to be stricken with aphasia, unable to speak.
Eventually, Sally just put the food she bought for Micah out.
Placing her hands together, she offered up a sincere and reverent prayer to Micah in her heart.
"Micah, in your next time, you must become my child and come to me.
"It's a deal!"
Then, they exited the columbarium.
The sun was scorching outside, and it was a sunny day.
"Let's head to our room and rest for a bit." Elijah suggested in a gentle tone.
Sally, feeling a bit lost, nodded in agreement, letting Elijah take her back.
She fell asleep very fast and started to have dreams.
Sally knew that this news could not be sent to Athena and the others. Coոtent оf Draмaոovеls.cом
She couldn't talk to Athena and the others about this matter.
Yet, despite her conscious efforts, Sally was unable to prevent the distressing dream from unfolding.
She couldn't even stop this from happening in her dream.
