Chapter 1274
Agnes was very scared because she thought the man might come back. She forgot to call 911 and just left the place quickly.
When she reached home, Agnes remembered that Rosie was still back there. But now, it seemed too late to call the police.
She was worried that if she called, the police would find out she was there, and everyone would learn about her family's secrets. To keep herself safe, she chose to keep everything a secret.
A few days later, Agnes noticed her husband was acting nervous, but she couldn't figure out why. Thinking about it more, she realized it was probably because of what happened to Rosie.
Agnes was pulled from her thoughts when she looked at Luther, who was clearly furious. "I'm really sorry, child."
"What good does an apology do now? Can it bring her back?" Luther scoffed. "Don't you remember? My mom died because of you, yet you get to live well. Don't you feel guilty at all?"
Agnes felt shaken and looked down. "You don't understand. Every night, I regret not calling the police. Maybe I could have saved her."
"So why didn't you?" Luther stared at her with contempt. "Were you too scared to face the consequences? Scared of disgracing the Crawfords? Even though you're Missus Crawford, you have no conscience."
After saying this, Luther felt a sense of relief. He had been preparing to say these words for
years.
"Don't worry, Agnes. I don't want your family's money, but remember, I'll never forgive the Crawfords, and that includes your son."
He added, "Why do you think I brought Esther back? I wanted your son to suffer and feel pain. You know he's sick, right? He's suffering enough for your mistakes. Oh, Agnes, you've been so lucky. My mom died instead of you, and now your son is paying for what you did."
Agnes was overwhelmed. "Enough!"Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
Luther grabbed her neck tightly and said in a harsh tone, "Enough? I'm not finished. Do you know how much I want to strangle you?"
Agnes struggled to breathe, but thinking of Rosie, she stopped resisting. "If you hate me so much, go ahead. Maybe you'll leave my son and family alone if it makes you feel better."
Her face turned red, struggling to breathe.
Luther didn't want her to die so quickly, so he let her go and pushed her onto the couch."
Why should you decide when you die? I'm not done yet. You're naive to think your life can save your son and family."
Luther wiped his hand with a handkerchief as if disgusted and said, "Be braver next time we meet," before leaving with a chuckle.
Agnes collapsed onto the floor from the couch, looking very pale.
