Chapter 202 Number One Love Rival
Cordelia's voice made Elijah's ears numb, and his eyes instantly deepened.
He hugged Cordelia's neck and kissed her passionately under the umbrella.
He admitted that he was pretending. Elijah had never seen eye to eye with Eason and considered him
the biggest rival of his love life.
Under the shelter of the umbrella, the two of them shared intimate kisses on the deserted rainy street.
"Cordelia, I slept in your bed today, and all I dreamed about was you," Elijah confessed.
Cordelia could hear his breathing become unsteady and heavier.
Of course, she knew Elijah wasn't lying. She even heard him calling her name in his sleep.
At this moment, Cordelia's heart raced, and she felt that Elijah was about to say something important.
She buried her face in his chest, slowly closed her eyes, and waited for him to continue.
However, she thought too much. Elijah didn't say anything else.
Cordelia felt a slight disappointment but also a sense of relief.
There was still time for her to figure out Elijah's true intentions of pestering her after they divorced.
Later, Elijah accompanied her to the entrance of her guesthouse and watched her go inside before
leaving. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Cordelia took a shower and had just finished blow-drying her hair when she received a call from
Gideon.
"Cordelia, I always thought you were a sensible and responsible girl. But in fact, you're simply
relentless!"
As soon as Cordelia picked up, Gideon's voice came through the phone, stern and disapproving.
Cordelia was no longer Elijah's wife, so she had no reason to tolerate Gideon's scolding.
She smiled faintly and replied, "Sir Hansen, do you even know where I am right now? Care to explain
how I'm relentless?"
Gideon hesitated. He really didn't know where Cordelia was.
But that didn't stop him from venting his frustration.
"Sharp-tongued! So disrespectful!" Gideon scolded angrily.
Cordelia responded with a nonchalant smile. "Well, Sir Hansen, I'll kindly remind you that I have a habit
of recording conversations. If you insist on stirring up trouble, I won't hesitate to release the recording
for everyone to hear, so they can judge if I have ever offended you."
As soon as she said so, Cordelia could hear Gideon taking a deep breath on the other end.
Then, Edith's voice came through the phone.
"Cordelia, it's me. Gideon is old, and he gets worried easily. Elijah suddenly went missing, and I heard
that he went to your place. Is that true?"
Edith's tone was typically strict, but compared to Gideon's earlier anger, it sounded more like a polite
conversation.
Cordelia's tone immediately softened. "Yes, it's true that Elijah came to see me, but he said he would
go back to Grant City early tomorrow morning."
"Cordelia, I heard you're on a trip? Where are you now?" Edith asked with concern.
"I'm in a small town far away from Grant City. I came here for work, not leisure," Cordelia calmly
corrected.
Edith was taken aback. "Cordelia, why are you working in a small town?"
Cordelia responded firmly, "It's work-related."
After hanging up the phone, Edith looked helpless. "Dad, you heard that too. Cordelia has gone to such
a remote place, and yet Elijah still went after her. You can't blame Cordelia for this."
Gideon slammed the table and stood up. "Hmph, if it weren't for her luring Elijah, how could he be
acting like he's lost his mind and chasing after her? He had only returned yesterday, and now he left for
her again. How could he do that?"
