Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 174

Chapter 174

Chapter 174 Part With Him

Hearing her words, Elijah laughed.

He couldn't be happy as she wished, at least not for now.

As the day when Cordelia was discharged from the hospital was getting closer, Elijah spent more time

with her.

Cordelia guessed maybe Elijah was silently resisting his family.

Back then, when he left her alone and ignored her, it was also one of his ways to fight against his

family.

Cordelia didn't care about it and put up with his childish behaviors.

Elijah still took care of her as before, and she didn't refuse him.

Until the morning Cordelia was discharged from the hospital, she said to Elijah, "We should say

goodbye here. Elijah, see you at the Courthouse at nine o'clock tomorrow morning."

Elijah froze and then stared at her deeply. "Cordelia, I'll ask you again. Answer me after you think about

it carefully. Are you really not going to change your mind?"

Cordelia chuckled, "Elijah, we are not children anymore. We must be responsible for what we say."

"But..."

At this moment, Eason and Adam walked in one after another.

"Cordelia, Mr. Carter misses you and wants to see you soon. He sends us to pick you up," Adam said

with a smile.

Cordelia smiled at him. "I miss him, too."

Milo had gone out for traveling before. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

Everyone hid Cordelia's accident from him. It wasn't until Milo came back that he learned Cordelia had

almost died, which made him very worried.

Cordelia took one last look at Elijah. "Goodbye. I will arrive at the Courthouse on time tomorrow."

Elijah didn't speak but watched them disappear from his sight.

He stood there in a daze for a long time. Feeling a little dizzy, he staggered back and sat on the bed.

The smell of Cordelia still lingered on the bed.

He lay down and hugged Cordelia's quilt into a ball. He grabbed the quilt tightly, and his whole body

was shaking.

"Cordelia, you are a coward. Cordelia..."

On the way back, Cordelia was extremely quiet, and so was Eason.

He sat in the back with her. Adam drove in front and had been talking endlessly along the way.

He also sang when he was in high spirits, making the atmosphere in the car very cheerful.

Finally, Adam got tired of talking. He picked up the bottle and took a sip of water. "Hey, why are you so

quiet? Where shall we go to celebrate tonight? To celebrate the rebirth of Cordelia!"

Eason coughed slightly, conveying his dissatisfaction to Adam from the rearview mirror.

Cordelia smiled faintly. "How about tomorrow? Adam, I want to go to see..."

"Of course. You're getting divorced tomorrow. It's a good time to celebrate..."

"Could you please hold your tongue? Why are you talking so much?" Eason suddenly reprimanded.

Cordelia hurriedly patted Eason's arm. "Eason, it's okay. Adam is right. Let's celebrate tomorrow!"

Eason looked down at Cordelia's delicate hand.

Her hand brushed against his sleeve gently like a kitten's paw, making his heart tickle.

Adam said with a smile, "Cordelia, I know you can put it down and go ahead."

Cordelia smiled and didn't say anything more.

She had never fallen in love with Elijah, so she didn't feel sad at all.

She was nothing more than a pawn in this marriage all the time.

If Cordelia's grandma was still alive, she would not allow Janice to marry Cordelia into the Hansen

family to fulfill the wish of the deceased, let alone let Cordelia live an unhappy life.

But her grandma was gone and could no longer protect her.

Cordelia had grown up and had to learn to protect herself!
