Chapter 642
Chapter 642
"Could you stop being unreasonable? What else could I do other than give a consultation?" Hera pushed Bernard away, wanting to leave, but he wouldn't let her.
"What's his condition?" he asked again.
She looked up at him, baffled and surprised.
He had been hostile toward the Killian family, so why would he care about Xavier's condition?
As she was silent, he arched an eyebrow at her. "Hmm?"
His eyes didn't leave her for one second.
The silent stare continued. Hera had a hunch that Bernard knew something.
Xavier had been pretending to be crazy for years just to survive in the Killian family. If she were to expose him here, his many years of effort would go down the drain.
Before finding out who the murderer was, she couldn't reveal someone else's secret.
"I still have to observe him more." She glossed it over and averted the topic. "Do we still have any hummingbird cake left? I'm craving for more."
She rounded him and left the room. He watched her leave as mixed feelings churned in him.
He opened his inbox in his phone and pulled up an email that contained the investigation results from Douglas. The photos and personal information were about the mysterious person Hera met in the park.
The mysterious person was Xavier.
In the evening, Hera accompanied Catherine to Skyview Heights to have dinner and go on a walk together. After sending Catherine home, Hera returned to the courtyard house.
Bernard happened to return at the same time. When he entered, he saw her rummaging through the drawers." What are you looking for?"
"Do you still have the galaxy projector you brought along during the trip?" She continued searching the drawers with Tiramisu nosing around. It slid into the cabinet.
Bernard removed his coat and hung it on the rack beside him. "It should be in the trunk of the SUV. Why?"
"I want to try it tonight." She pulled Tiramisu out of the cabinet and turned around, walking toward the drawer where the car keys were kept. She found the BMW X7 keys. They had driven that car that time.
She passed it to Bernard, who thought that she was up to something new. "Alright."NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
They clicked when it came to intimacy, with Bernard making the first move most of the time. Now that she was taking the initiative tonight, he was excited.
He took the keys and eagerly went to the garage to fetch the projector.
By the time he returned, Hera had already set up a tripod in the room. She was adjusting the angle of the camera, which was facing the bed.
"Are you going to record a video?" Bernard's Adam apple bobbed. Desire and anticipation filled his eyes as he thought, "She's slowly getting wild."
She hummed in response, not noticing his odd reaction. After securing the camera, she picked up Tiramisu, which was messing around, and placed it back in its bed.
She put its toys next to it and tapped its nose. "Behave, Tiramisu. Mom and Dad have important business to do. Have fun by yourself for now."
Despite its displeasure, Tiramisu didn't follow her back to the room.
Bernard quickly set up the projector. "I'll go take a shower first."
"Go on." Hera waved her hand and continued studying the projector's function.
He opened the door to the bathroom and suddenly stopped. He looked at her, inviting, "Want to join me, sweetie?"
"No." She didn't spare him a single glance because she was focusing on the projector.
"We can start from the bathroom," he added.
She became puzzled at that, wondering why they could start in the bathroom. She looked up and saw his
suggestive expression. It was only then did she realize what he meant.
Did he misunderstand that she was going to play some intimate games with him?
