Passion 34
Yvette added the drug to the red wine. Then, she changed into a revealing and seductive nightgown.
She came before Xavier and poured him a glass of wine. "Here's your wine."
Xavier observed her every move. He took the wine from her, but didn't drink it.
Instead, he said, "You returned to Tirion from the countryside when you were ten years old. That was the first time we met."
Yvette paused. She hadn't expected Xavier to remember their first encounter.
She didn't show any surprise and pushed the wine toward him again. Unexpectedly, Xavier pushed the
wine back.
His words brooked no argument. "You drink first!"
Looking at the drugged wine, Yvette didn't hesitate. She took the glass and drank it. The wine went down her throat. It was bitter and spicy.
She knew that if she didn't drink it, Xavier would surely become suspicious of her.
He had been in the business world for so many years. He would definitely detect any slip-up.All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Yvette
poured another glass of wine and placed it in front of him.
"Your turn, Mr. Lane."
He took the wine and gently swirled it, but he didn't drink it. He looked at her leisurely. "There's no need to rush. Let us reminisce about the past first."
It was impossible to recount over ten years of memories in a short time.
Yvette frowned. Although the air conditioning was on, her forehead was beaded with sweat.
She dug her nails into her palm to stay alert. She stared at Xavier and said softly, "We have plenty of time to reminisce later. It's late now. Don't you want to do something else?"
As she spoke, she picked up the wine and handed it to Xavier. She didn't know if it would work, but she didn't want to miss this opportunity.
Xavier's eyes darkened. For some reason, he remembered how she'd secretly been with Claude four
years ago.
Suddenly, he grabbed her wrist and pressed closer.
"Is this how you seduced Claude too?"
Yvette froze. Xavier's words cut through her like a knife. "Did he give up on you? Is that why you came back to look for me? What do you take me for?" They
ie wine fell to the floor and spilled everywhere.
Xavier ruthlessly shoved Yvette away, not forgetting to mock her before leaving. "Filthy whore!" Yvette was burning up, but the tight grip of her palm kept her mind clear. Xavier's words echoed in her head. She smiled bitterly
Filthy? Who could be filthier than Xavier himself?
He had never loved her, yet he had forced himself on her back then. Now he was trying to act noble!
Not long after he left, the drug took effect. Yvette went to the bathroom and turned the cold water on full blast.
She stood under the cold stream and scratched herself hard. It drew blood from her arms, but it didn't calm her down.
She had been too impatient this time.
The phone rang in the living room, but she couldn't be bothered by it anymore. She kept dousing herself with water, trying to regain her composure.
Half an hour later, the mansion's door was forcibly opened from the outside.
A man in black, cold-faced and tall, entered the bathroom.
