Trouble in Paradise

Chapter 0520

Christopher hesitated, stroking his chin. He glanced at Claudia and asked, "Can I trust you?"

"Mr. Newton, you can absolutely trust me. I'm right here. Where could I possibly go?" Claudia replied.

Christopher turned his gaze toward me and suddenly burst into laughter. "Ariana, I promise I won't make things difficult for Jones Corporation. But I'm sorry, you'll have to come with me!"

I kept my expression cold as I replied, "If you dare to go through with this, it won't be the Jones Corporation worried about your threats. It'll be us making things hard for you, all the way to the end!"

Perhaps my soft tone lacked any real threat. Not only did Christopher ignore the threat, he pulled me roughly into his arms, running his hand over my face with a lecherous smile.

"No wonder Nelson enjoys himself so much. There's just something about young girls."

His disgusting touch felt like being licked by a venomous snake. As he lifted me effortlessly, the world began to spin. I felt dizzy and nauseous.

Kicking the door open, Christopher shot Claudia a warning look. "If this is another one of your lies, you know what will happen."

Claudia nodded, and a twisted smile slowly spread across her face. She blamed me for everything she had lost, and she wanted me dead badly.

If I were gone, Nicholas would surely think of her during his lonely moments. Even if it was just reminiscing about the past, she would still have a place in his heart.

Claudia curled up on the floor, hugging herself tightly as tears streamed down her face. Nicholas had been taken away by me. She missed him so much...

Christopher led me through a secluded VIP passage, and we didn't encounter a single person. I didn't even have a chance to cry for help.

I conserved my strength, knowing my last chance was in the front hall where Douglas was. If I could just shout for help, then maybe I would have a slim chance of escaping.

My skin grew colder, and dread crept over me when I realized Christopher had led me into the underground parking lot. With that, any hope I had clung to shattered completely.

He shoved me into a black SUV. He then got into the driver's seat and began making a phone call. I didn't know who he was trying to reach, but his calls kept failing.

After several attempts, he turned to me and asked, "Ariana, you know Nelson's personal number, right?"

"What? Christopher, you expect me to call Nelson myself so that you can deliver me to his bed?"

I couldn't help but look down on Christopher a bit. Had he been brainwashed by Claudia? How could he start acting without even having a proper "delivery channel' in place?

My tension eased slightly, and I felt drowsy again as the world around me started to narrow, eventually turning into a thin slit...

Just as I was about to drift off, Christopher's voice suddenly grew louder and harsher, snapping me out of my drowsiness in an instant.

"Ariana, don't make me resort to the hard way. I'm a person of principle. I don't want to be rough with you. For Roman's sake, I still hope you can be delivered to Nelson in one piece. You saw how ruthless I can be with women!

Christopher's expression turned serious, and his gaze sharpened. At that moment, I felt like a traitor hindering his grand scheme. I had no doubt he might try to force something out of me any second now!

My lips moved, but no sound came out. Perhaps the sedative was kicking in, making the overwhelming drowsiness harder to resist. Even Christopher's loathsome face began to blur in my vision!

I felt too weak to speak. Just as I was drifting off to sleep, a piercing light suddenly shone through the front windshield. It was so bright it made my lashes tremble, and tears welled up in my eyes.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
