Chapter 2171 Quite Artful
Ian heaved a sigh of relief after hearing her words. In truth, he had figured out how Cindy would
probably react to the scandal. However, he could only be a hundred percent reassured only after
hearing her tell it to him personally.
Following that, Ian sighed and said, "I swear, they're patching up a bunch of bullsh*t because I've been
in the limelight lately. I wish they'd give me a break."
"You can ignore them if it isn't too serious," said Cindy after hesitating slightly. "Don't let them get to
you."
"Yeah." Ian sighed. "The important thing is that you trust me. Alright, I'll look away."
Cindy wasn't affected by the scandal at all. On the contrary, there was a hint of cheerfulness in her
voice. "Don't worry. I'm not the unreasonable type, so I know what's up."
At that, she changed the subject. "You said you've wrapped up for the day. Have you eaten?"
"I was going to, but I lost all my appetite after seeing this news. I had just sat down in my hotel room,
wanting to order some food delivery. I decided to do a quick scroll through my phone, and lo and
behold, this sh*tty news popped up," he grumbled.
These people are making such groundless and unrealistic claims! They're literally blabbering without
any proof!
Cindy was getting sleepy. After a yawn, she told Ian to eat something and go to bed as she was also
going to sleep soon.
At that, Ian hummed a couple of times before ending the call.
Cindy was incredibly sleepy at this point, and she dozed off soon after placing her phone aside.
She had assumed it would be a restless night since many things happened earlier in the day. But to her
surprise, she slept through the night. What was more, she would've slept through her alarm if Aurora
hadn't come to wake her up.
It was a wonderful sleep. She had no dreams, nor was she startled awake in the middle of the night.
While Cindy hurriedly washed up, Aurora had gotten breakfast ready, and the young woman barely
said anything during breakfast before she dashed off to the office.
Most of her colleagues had already clocked in when Cindy arrived at the company, and she first
handed her sketch to Serena before returning to her desk.
After Cindy sat down, a young woman skidded her chair over and said, "Guess what? I managed to © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
find out who the person looking at you from the doorway yesterday was. She's Lucy Harrison, and
she's a new designer in our company. She graduated from the same school as Miss Warhol. Though
she isn't as popular as Miss Warhol, she's pretty capable."
This was already old news to Cindy. Still, she hummed in response as though she had just learned of
the information. "Is that so? No wonder I didn't see her picture on the billboard in the lobby."
At that, the young woman clicked her tongue. "Word is that she also has a backer."
Cindy quirked a brow in response, her interest piqued. "Did she come in through the back door as
well?" she asked as she turned to look at the young woman, who nodded hesitantly. "That's what I
heard. I don't know the exact details, and it seems that she doesn't have many apprentices yet."
With that, Cindy pulled a quick smile. No wonder she wanted me to join her. On one hand, she can
grow her team while meeting Gary more often on the other. Talk about bagging a bargain.
Cindy couldn't believe she thought Lucy was a simple person upon their first meeting.
It was probably because Lucy looked like a rookie. However, who'd have thought the woman was pretty
artful?!
Then again, anyone who could enter this company through the back door was not a rookie, Cindy
included; she didn't think she was a rookie either.
Most who would resort to this path had certainly gone through some experience, especially when it
came to entering such a big company. It was impossible to survive without a bit of shrewdness.
Cindy didn't chat long with the young woman as Serena was approaching their direction, and the young
woman slid back to her desk as well.
Meanwhile, Cindy looked through the book Serena had given her again. Although she had gone
through the book over and over again in the past two days, she had a habit of revisiting whatever.
