Chapter 1035
Vivienne and Percival made their way to the backyard.
Finnian had been waiting for quite some time, and upon seeing them, he set down his cup of coffee, "You're here."
Vivienne approached the empty table, "Master, where's the stuff?"
Finnian stroked his beard, "I had your grandfather get some experts to look at it. It's been stored in a specialized freezer."
Vivienne had a hunch about what it could be.
"How much is there?"
"Only enough for a few people."
Percival frowned; although he didn't know what Vivienne was worried about, anything that concerned both master and apprentice had to be significant. Finnian stood up, "Follow me, you'll understand once you see it."This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
The item was inside the house where Finnian lived, but surprisingly, Jasper was sitting at the table.
Vivienne paused, "Grandpa?"
Jasper looked at her with concern, "Vivienne, you shouldn't have kept this from me."
Vivienne bit her lip, deciding to come clean, "Grandpa, that person was after me from the start. It's something I have to deal with."
"No matter who this Abigail is, our Perez family won't allow anyone to bully you like this."
Vivienne worried about this exact reaction and spent a good while soothing Jasper.
During their conversation, Finnian had already taken out the item, a red glass vial now lay exposed for all to see.
Vivienne's expression changed upon seeing it.
Though she had guessed Abigail's intentions, the depth of her malevolence was still shocking.
Abigail wanted the world, not its people.
Seeing the cold determination on Vivienne's face, Percival also guessed what was at stake.
Jasper's expression turned serious, "After your master informed me, I had specialists examine it. It's a serum sample, but we're unclear on the type of virus it corresponds to." Vivienne stepped forward to take the item, "Grandpa, don't worry. I'll have it analyzed in the lab and coordinate with the authorities if necessary."
Of course, that was a worst-case scenario.
Finnian nodded, his reason for involving Vivienne was to prevent any leaks, "We trust you with this, but be cautious. It's dangerous."
Vivienne thought of the Wright family's ordeal.
Abigail probably didn't know this item existed.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have acted before Vivienne had a chance to open it. She was guarding against what she held in her hands.
It seemed Declan had anticipated Abigail's use of these items to achieve her goals and had made preparations early on.
No wonder he hadn't allowed Abigail to intervene and rescue him.
He had left himself a way out.
Addressing her master's concern, Vivienne bluntly stated, "There's one more thing she needs to do before revealing her ultimate weapon." Before conquering the world, Abigail's priority was immortality.
Otherwise, no matter how powerful, a monster that needed to consume human hearts was fundamentally flawed.
This was why Abigail had bided her time for so many years.
Finnian's brow furrowed, sensing Vivienne's resolve, "You plan to use yourself as bait?"
The bait was indeed prepared for Abigail.
She had waited too long.
Abigail wouldn't miss this opportunity, and neither would she.
"The fragments of Millennia Aegis are with me."
Jasper's heart sank, adamantly opposing Vivienne's decision to put herself in danger, "No!"
"Your body can't withstand the slightest mishap. If anything were to happen, it'd be too late for regrets."
Jasper pondered, "If it's that dangerous, let's just keep it here. I'd like to see for myself what kind of person this Abigail is!"
Vivienne was moved by her grandfather's protective stance.
Shaking her head, she said, "Grandpa, Mr. Wolf and I are skilled enough to handle this." Percival came over, gripping Vivienne's hand, promising Jasper, "Grandpa, I've got this." Jasper, worried for Vivienne's safety, felt somewhat reassured by Percival's words.
Vivienne knew Jasper's concerns, downplaying the situation, "Grandpa, the shards are just the beginning. Abigail's after more than that. In any case, I dug this hole, and I'll be the one to fill it." en FindNovel
In their last confrontation, Abigail had attempted to target her child.
This time, Vivienne wouldn't leave such a threat unchecked.
Eliminating Abigail was the only way to restore peace.
Finnian, fully aware of the situation, clapped Jasper on the shoulder, "I think you're underestimating my apprentice. She wouldn't have planned this long if it wasn't absolutely necessary to uproot this
threat entirely."
Jasper knew this well, but his worry was unmistakable.
Hearing Finnian's carefree tone, he could only huff in response.
Suddenly, a ringtone broke the silence.
Vivienne glanced at her phone and immediately heard Sasha's voice on the other end, "Vivienne, where are you?"
Vivienne pressed her lips together, looking up at Mr. Wolf.
They had rushed over, forgetting the two at the airport.
How could she smooth this over?
"Is that Sasha?"
Hearing his daughter's voice, Jasper asked, surprised, from a meter away.
"Dad?"
Sasha paused on the line, "Vivienne, are you at the Perez's?"
Seizing the opportunity, Vivienne replied, "Mom, I'm at grandpa's. There's something I need to deal with. Just take a cab here, and we'll talk when you arrive." After hanging up, she'd never admit she had actually forgotten them.
Half an hour later, Sasha and Arthur arrived from the airport.
Sasha greeted Jasper and Finnian with a quick nod and then pulled her daughter aside, "You better not have intentionally left your dad and me out of the loop." Vivienne, who had already prepared her countermove, pointed to a specially crafted box on the table, "Mom, would you take a look at this first?" Sasha, taken aback, inquired, "What is this?"
Driven by curiosity, she stepped forward to inspect it and her expression subtly shifted upon seeing the contents, "Where did you find this?" Vivienne's reply was delivered with a chilling simplicity, "The Wright family."
"The real deal has already been taken by Abigail."
Sasha pursed her lips tightly, "What's your plan for handling this?"
With a voice as cold as ice, Vivienne declared, "If she's set on winning, then it's only interesting if she watches everything she values disappear before her eyes."
A mother knows her daughter best, and Sasha understood Vivienne's intentions perfectly.
However, her concerns were the same as Jasper's, centered on her daughter's well-being.
After all, despite her capabilities, she was still pregnant, "Let me make this clear, you can investigate however you wish, but you must ensure the safety of my granddaughter. Not a single scratch, understood?"
