Chapter 1941 Unimaginable Disaster

Chapter 1941 Unimaginable Disaster

As the purple devil spirit was surprised, the black crystals that covered Rocky's body shattered and disappeared in an instant. His clothes were gone too, although they had already been eroded by the black crystals. His powerful, muscular body was now presented to all. Golden lines then began appearing across his skin, flashing constantly with a faint luster.

"What? It can't be! It's not possible for such golden patterns to be present on him! They're only for those high-level deities!" exclaimed the devil spirit in utter shock. It could scarcely believe its eyes. These so-called "holy patterns" were the embodiment of the power of the divine race. Different deities would have different holy patterns on their bodies depending on their strength. However, only those at a truly high level had the golden holy patterns glowing upon their skin.

Similarly, the demonic race had specific demonic patterns that represented their strength.

As the holy patterns continued to spread across his body, the God-killing Sword in Rocky's hand began to undergo a change as well.

In a mere moment, it had morphed into a long sword shaped like a dragon, beaming with the burning holy flame. It was astounding, terrifying and awe-inspiring all at the same time, just as a legendary divine weapon should be.

"How can this be happening? It's the God-killing Sword in the dragon form! That he would have the ability to activate the sword's divine form is the last thing I expected. But this doesn't make sense; he hasn't even reached the God Realm yet," murmured the purple devil spirit in disbelief, trying to make sense of all it was witnessing. Rocky was becoming more and more incredible by the second, and so the devil spirit dared not rush up to him so hastily. It had not previously thought of Rocky as being able to unleash the full potential of the God-killing Sword and thus felt it did not have to fear being hurt by him. But now... Rocky possessed the power to slay deities and demons with his sword. The picture was vastly different and far more worrisome.

That God-killing Sword in Rocky's hand was of an immense threat to the devil spirit now. It needed to be extra careful.

Rocky's eyes were still closed but his mind was present in the palace and he could feel quite vividly the change his body was going through.

"Guardian, what just happened? Why would such a force gush out of the God-killing Sword so suddenly, and inject itself into my body?" Rocky asked, feeling the guardian must know something.

"The God-killing Sword is a divine weapon left behind by Deacon, a high-level deity of the divine race, and so contains his power. However, such power is only triggered at the most critical moments. Once triggered, the God-killing Sword's power will increase astronomically," explained the guardian.

"I see. It appears it's a blessing in disguise this time! How long will this power last?" Rocky asked thoughtfully.

"I'm afraid I do not know either. But I do know that with this power, you can freely use any divine treasure in the palace now," informed the guardian.

"Really? Whoa, that's awesome. Then let's get to it! Hurry and present all the divine treasures. I need to kill this guy here and now! If I had known I would meet such a freaky devil spirit, I would have brought Rubygon with me." It was rare for Rocky to exhibit such aggression. He had felt these emotions bubbling, back when he had fought on the Supernal Continent.

He thought he had been well-prepared, but he still had not expected to come across such a strong mid- level devil spirit in the Ethereal Valley. He would have definitely brought Rubygon with him if he had foreseen this. In order to keep his identity hidden, he had arranged a safe place for Rubygon before he entered the valley. If he had it with him now, there was no way he would be trapped in such a perilous predicament.

The guardian immediately released the divine treasures Rocky had unlocked before, presenting a variety before him.

Rocky then snapped back to reality. At the same time, the Magic Icy Armor appeared on his body. This, paired with the God-killing Sword he wielded, made Rocky an image of power and intensity. There were few cooler images than him right now.

Seeing just how aggressive Rocky was now, the devil spirit was a little frightened. After all, Deacon was a high-level deity, and the purple shadow was only a mid-level devil. The difference in their strength was far too large to even think about. Even if Rocky only possessed a percentage of Deacon's power, the devil spirit would still stand no chance.

"Come on then! Let's keep this fight going!" Rocky bellowed savagely.

"Don't get so cocky, brat!" the devil spirit spat back. It could not show itself to be a timid coward. Plus, it knew Rocky's power was only temporary; all it had to do was delaying him until the extra power dissipated and Rocky would then no doubt meet his end.

In a flash, Rocky and the purple shadow collided head-on. All it took was the blink of an eye for the entire crystal palace to be transformed into a horrific battlefield.

At the same time, Alex and the injured Vivian, who had left the crystal palace using the power of the Ice Phoenix, met with Ruth and other Spiritual Emperors Alex had saved earlier.

They were taken aback by the strength and aura that Alex had displayed, not to mention the beast spirit she had summoned. They assumed she must have been on a fair few adventures in her time, advancing her strength leaps and bounds.

Then, Vivian awakened.

"Where is Rookie?" she asked right away, after noticing he was not around.

"He's still inside," Alex replied softly, biting her lower lip, the worry and unease clear all over her face.

"We can't leave him alone in there..." Vivian struggled, trying to push herself to her feet, but the disordered spiritual power in her body caused her to spit out another mouthful of blood before she could even really try.

"Please, don't move. You're seriously hurt," Alex said quickly, hurrying to support her.

"Can't you save him? Please go and save him," Vivian begged. She was a proud woman and almost never asked anything of others. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

"It's not that I don't want to save him, but he doesn't want me to save him. He even asked me to seal the crystal palace once we were out. He said that if the devil spirit got out, the consequences would be horribly unimaginable," Alex answered honestly.

Vivian's eyes turned cold, but she knew Rocky was right. The devil's power was much greater than that of the demonic race member that they had met before. It would not be easy for any race of the Supreme Ether Land to confront the devil spirit head-on.

"He's right. We must seal this place. If that devil gets out, every single member of the spiritual race in the Ethereal Valley will be doomed," Ruth cut in seriously. Ruth knew this had the potential to be a disaster that could change the fate of the entire spiritual race.

The other Spiritual Emperors agreed.

"Alex, think about this, if you seal the crystal palace, he won't be able to get out either," Vivian added worriedly.

"But if we don't seal it, all he has done will be in vain." Alex was calm and cool. Before she had left with Vivian, she saw the determination in Rocky's eyes. She knew she could not stop him from sacrificing himself for them. If she didn't seal the palace, she would fail him. She could not allow that.

Vivian fell silent at these words. A sharp pain like she had never felt before pierced through her heart at the same time. She had not spent a long time with Rocky, but she was terribly concerned about him. She realized she cared for him more than perhaps she had even known.

"I'm going to seal it now!" With that, Alex leaped onto the Ice Phoenix and commanded it to fly to the top of crystal palace.
