The Last Ceo’s Deal

Chapter 22: Suicide mission

CHAPTER TWENTY TWO.

Jayden’s Pov.

She was fidgeting in fear as she stared at the book before her, her hands were still on my wrists when Fanuel walked in on us.

He scoffed at the position we were in and was about to pass when he took notice of the book, the front cover tore as a result from the force of the fall.

“What the actual hell?!!”

“I had a fall.” She shakily said.

“Ask if I care.”

“I’m sorry, it was unintentional.”

“I told you the consequences of tearing a piece of that book you witty shit!!”

“No, you didn’t,” She replied, not breaking eye contact with him.

“You deceptive piece of trash, how dare you? You just called me a Liar!!”

“Fanuel none of this is her fault.” I intervened when I noticed his anger riling up.

“Now just shut the fuck up, and stay out of this.”Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

“It’s my fault okay, I bumped into her and tore it in the process. I can get the publisher to provide a new copy for you.”

“What is wrong with you? Did I ask for your opinion just now? Does it look like I give a shit about what you said now?”

“You never gave a shit about what anyone said, it’s always been you Fanuel, behaving like a douchebag always….. will you just for once listen to me that it’s not her fault?”

“You’re going to the basement!!”

I gasped in horror.

“What the fúçk, no way!”

“Shut up Jayden! Christine or whatever trash you call yourself, you’re cleaning up the basement for the next two days, when you’re done with that you’re getting into the hot machine to clean yourself up and prepare for the wedding, I wouldn’t want you to appear before the press looking all haggard and shabby.”

“Don’t do this Fanuel, please I beg you…that place has been abandoned for years.”

“Jayden, I think it’s high time you stayed away from my fiancee…. stop parading around trying to defend her, you’re not Jesus Christ!”

“Fanuel!! Give her whatever punishment but not go to the basement!! Are you even human at all!! Don’t you think for a second what might happen there, It’s dangerous…ours is not just any kind of basement please.”

“You have from now till the third day to clean that mess in the basement!!” He told Christine and walked away leaving me in an utmost shock.

I turned to face Christine as her face was already filled with tears, I facepalm myself as I pulled her into a hug. She doesn’t deserve all of these one bit, she’s just an innocent girl who got herself entangled in a web of her father’s crime.

Damn!! She’s as beautiful as a model and Fanuel isn’t seeing all of this, he’s just blinded by the hatred for her father’s crime.

“I will try to get you out of this mess, I promise.” I whispered into her ear.

“It’s no use Jayden, he’s damn serious.”

“You can’t go there Christine, don’t even try that.”

“This is what my dad put me Into, this is my fate; I have no choice.”

“Christine…..

“I can’t appreciate you enough for always protecting me, I don’t deserve this but you give me a reason to feel loved and protected, thank you.”

“Cut the crap Christine, I would do more.”

“But why?”

“I imagine myself having a younger sister and seeing her going through all these, I would go crazy……I might not have a sister but I see you as one and I would do all it takes to protect you from my brother even when you get married.”

She sighed in depression when I said that, worry clouded her face and she bit her lips.

“You don’t have to get married to him, you know that right?”

“That’s my only chance of getting freed.”

“That’s not it, the police could still find your dad.”

“For how long? Something that looks like a closed case to them, that man is gone Jayden.”

“Something can still be done to avoid signing that contract, like how the fuck will you bear him a child?!!!”

“I don’t know either! I’m trying so hard not to think about it, but there’s nothing I can do, I want to be free from him and I have just a year.”

I sigh deeply.

“If you need anybody to talk to anytime and any day, don’t fail to call me ok; I will always be there.”

“Thanks Jayden, umm… the bracelet?”

“Oh! Yeah about this.” I removed it from my wrists.”

“I saw this in a bar I went to, it seems a guy dropped it and I tried to look for him but he was gone.”

She gasped and a tear trickled down her face.

“It’s for my brother, see.” She showed me her bracelet and it matched the one I was holding.

“Your brother?”

“Yes, he made this for me and he had his own.. he never jokes with it as he gets angry anytime I misplaced mine or forgot to put it on, maybe it slipped off from his wrist.. he would be so worried right now.”

“Sorry about that, I wished I could give it to him but I don’t know where he is at the moment, take it; you can keep it.”

“No! Please keep it, I would rather give it to you than having both bracelets” She smiled and pushed the bracelet back into my hands.

“Thank you, What’s your brother’s name? So that Incase I get to see him anywhere, I won’t get punched”

“Oh my goodness!” She laughed.

“Easton isn’t like that, he would politely ask where you got it from, his name is Easton; Easton Mart”

“Ok then, I will make sure not to get kicked in the ass.”

“Of course you won’t”

“Fine, please have a good night rest and don’t you think of attempting that suicide mission.”

“Have a nice night too.” She told me and smiled but something flashed in my head almost immediately.

“Wait! Did you say Easton Mart?”
