The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 50

Chapter 50

The document covered all aspects of Meredith's life as she grew up, and what surprised Derek the

most was that she did very well in high school.

If it weren't for the car accident, she would have been able to get into a good university and win a good

educational background. At least, she wouldn't be like this...

However, when he thought about the tragic car accident, the man frowned. Feeling increasingly

irritable, he pulled his tie off.

Derek had always thought that he was not a person with indiscriminate compassion. However, he had

just felt sorry for Meredith, which was inappropriate.

It was already illegal to hurt people, not to mention that Meredith was a hit-and-run driver, and thus she

deserved to be put into prison. Why did he, the victim, feel pity for her?

It was so uncharacteristic of him to behave like this.

Thinking about it, Derek was not in a mood to continue reading, and casually threw the rest of the

materials to Damian, "Go and destroy them. Besides, don't let anyone know that I told you to

investigate this matter."

Damian nodded, thinking that Meredith was in bad luck. If boss continued reading the document, he

might find that her mother was paralyzed in bed. If he was interested, he could render some help.

However, after all, he was just an assistant who worked for money. Damian didn't say anything more

and put the document away.

...

Meredith stayed in hospital for the next few days.

Perhaps because Derek brought her here personally, the hospital staff were particularly concerned

about her medical condition, and therefore they arranged for her a variety of inspections only to find out

many problems that Meredith herself didn't pay attention to.

suffer if you don't take good care of yourself."

Listening to the doctor, Meredith felt a little helpless. All of her illnesses, mild and severe, were caused

in prison. She didn't have enough to eat and wear, and was often bullied by people who didn't like her

there. She even had to go out to mob the floor in the cold winter. Even a body made of iron might break

down with such mistreatments.

It was probably the first time someone cared so much about her health. Although she knew it was just

the duty of a doctor to do so, Meredith, with a smile, thanked the doctor.

Taking some medicine from the consulting room, Meredith was about to return to her ward when a man

on the phone rushed out and bumped into her.

The man was tall and big and Meredith just lost her balance and fall to the ground because of the

bump, causing her buttocks to hit the ground, and a dull pain immediately came over her.

This man was really reckless...

Meredith bared her teeth in pain while the man just realized that he had bumped into someone, "I'm

sorry. I didn't watch where I was going just now. I pulled you... No, you're... Meredith?"

Before he could finish speaking, the man's hand stopped in the air. Meredith looked up and saw that

the guy who was so reckless was Leo.

A trace of disgust flashed through Meredith's eyes. What happened at the gate of the Masons last time

made her completely see his true colors.

Even the sight of Leo would remind her of their promiscuous behaviour that day, which made her sick.

Therefore, Meredith didn't need his insincere help to get on her feet, and stood up slowly on her own,

enduring the sharp pain from her tailbone.

Leo was a disaster for her. Every time Meredith met him, she would get into trouble.

Complaining in her heart, Meredith turned away without looking at the annoying man.

Leo, who had been completely ignored, suddenly felt a little unhappy. Meredith used to be very

enthusiastic when she met him, but now she just ignored him?

"Stop, Meredith. Why are you here?" Leo took a few steps to come in front of Meredith and looked at

her with a playful smile.

Meredith looked at his face with a false smile and was still annoyed.

This man told her to keep away from him. Now she didn't talk to him as he wanted, but he came after

and pestered her.

Was this a provocation?

"What else can I do in the hospital? Of course I'm seeing a doctor." Meredith looked at him as if she

was looking at an idiot, "If there's nothing else, please get out of my way. You're getting in my way

here."

Did Meredith actually complain that he was in her way? Leo narrowed his eyes and looked at the

woman in the hospital gown in front of him.

She looked a little better than she was last time they met. Her complexion was not so pale this time.

Her originally delicate face wore no makeup. Ava was generous and attracting while Meredith was

beautiful with a calm and cold character just like that of a wild lily.

"See a doctor. This is not where you should come to see a doctor. Do you know where this is? Can you

afford a Vip room?"

Meredith wanted to sneer. Looking at Leo's arrogant look as he looked down on others, she felt that

she had been so blind before that she had followed behind such a person and called him sweetie. She

thought that he was a nice person, but it turned out that he was just a snobbish person.

"I'm sorry. Does this have anything to do with you? Please get out of the way." Meredith said with a

long face.

At the very least, Leo could not find any trace of Meredith's lingering affection for him. She was calm as

if she had never cared about him.

This realization made Leo a little unhappy.

"Stop pretending. Tell me that you came here, after hearing that my grandfather was sick, to pretend to

be pitiful and beg him to let me marry you, or... Do you just want to pretend to be sick to gain my

sympathy?"

Meredith could not help but frown. This man had quite a rich imagination, and he felt especially good

about himself. However, her expression fell into Leo's eyes and became a guilty conscience after being

exposed.

"As expected, you are such a shameless woman. You really put into a lot of effort for marrying me."

"Nevertheless even if you do this, it's useless. Under no circumstances will I like a woman like you who

has been in prison. You should save your breath and leave."

Meredith really couldn't help it this time. She sneered, "Leo, why didn't I discover that you were a real

prima donna to think that I pretended to be sick to come here for you?"

"You and Ava are a perfect match for each other. Therefore, I'll give you back what you just said to me

that I, Meredith, despise such dirty men like you. Even if all the men in the world die, I won't have any

improper thoughts towards you. Do you understand?"

With that said, Meredith walked past Leo and was about to leave. The man who had been taunted by

her was livid and grabbed her wrist.

Leo was after all from a rich family. He had been the apple of his families' eyes in the Howards since he

was a child, and had ever been ridiculed with such heavy sarcasm.

In particular, Meredith, whom he looked down upon, was the one who said this, and the sense of

humiliation was even stronger.

"Meredith, if you don't give me a hard time, I won't care about your offence since you said so. Now I'll

just call security to throw you out!"
