Kyle’s face remained expressionless, he took a quick glance behind and it was a good thing that she was far from eavesdropping on this conversation..

“What do you mean by that Chad? he’s in a coma how can he leave?”

But how can a full grown man be abducted from a hospital without anyone noticing it?

“I’ll send my men over! and in the meantime don’t share this news with anyone else most especially Arya.. and by the way where are the guards assigned to guard his ward?”

Chad sighed “They are currently receiving treatment now.. get over here quickly”

Kyle hanged up and was about to leave but his legs stood rooted to the ground when he saw Arya standing in front of him with creased brows..

Chloe frowned when she saw her older brother sitting patiently waiting for her on his motorbike, she shook her head slowly as she approached him..

“Come on Arnold, don’t be like this.. you know Bryan will be here any minute to pick me up”

Arnold handed her a helmet ignoring her words, she accepted the helmet from him and put it on over her head..

“I don’t like him at all.. you’re our only sister and I won’t let a guy like him ruin your life, now hop on!”

Chloe pouted and climbed the motorbike gently, Arnold made sure she was sitted properly before he slowly drove off..

Chloe held onto his shoulder as he increased his acceleration and soon joined the highway, the motorbike came to a halt when they met a red light..

“I can take a cab ahead.. just drop me off here okay?” Chloe pleaded to receive a straightforward and short reply from her brother..

“No!”

She sighed and turned to the car next to their bike, the glass rolled down and a man’s side profile came in view..

Immediately Chloe saw him she turned her face to the other side to avoid being recognized by him..

Bryan looked out of the half opened glass and sighed, he took a peek at his wrist watch, he was definitely going to be late for this meeting..

“Boss there’s a traffic jam ahead I don’t think we’ll be able to make it to miss Chloe’s house..

Bryan gave his driver a short nod and raised his phone to his ear, and to his surprise he heard her ringtone right outside his car..

Chloe raised the phone to her face and panicked when she saw the name that flashed on her screen..

Bryan frowned and dialed it again this time staring at the lady on the motorbike, it couldn’t be her right? he disconnected the call and her ringtone died down..

He also noticed how she avoided looking at his side.. so she left without him and couldn’t even call to tell him?

“Turn the car around and head to the company immediately!”

Chad caught up with Kyle who was already on his way to the ward..

“Good thing you’re here Kyle.. we checked the CCTV footage and couldn’t find anything”

“Where are the guards?”

Chad led him to a ward few doors away from Arya’s dad’s ward, without knocking Kyle bardged into the ward startling the two guards who were currently receiving treatment from the nurses..

Kyle’s cold gaze rested on them, he had given them just one task and they failed miserably at it, he locked his eyes on the one who was conscious..

“What happened?!”

The guard swallowed, he suddenly wished he was still unconscious other than to receive his boss’s wrath..

“We were guarding his door when a nurse went into his ward in the pretense of examining his health, not too long after we heard a slight commotion inside and when we got in.. she was suffocating him with a pillow..

He swallowed when he saw his boss’s face darkened..

“Then?!” Kyle asked impatiently..

“Someone came in and knocked us out from behind, we couldn’t see who it was”

Kyle massaged the nape of his neck, who could have done this? why would anyone want to harm Mr Carter who was still in a coma?

Kyle sighed and turned to Kyle with both of his hands placed on his waist..

“Now let me see you brag about your hospital’s security once more.. a lady came in disguised as a nurse and took away your patient!” Kyle scolded..

Chad pursed his lips, he has never gotten a bad review about security issues concerning any of his patients but ever since Arya’s dad was admitted here everything suddenly changed..

“Now isn’t the time to scold me or teach me how to run my business.. we have to find him.. or else your marriage will be postponed till God knows when”

Kyle hissed in annoyance, he couldn’t let that happen otherwise his reputation might be ruined, no matter what happens Arya shouldn’t find out about this otherwise she wouldn’t hesitate to call off their wedding..

He raised his phone to his ear after a while “Block all road leading out of the city and also trace all cars or vehicles that passed through the hospital he was abducted”

Sharon pulled off the blue colored nose mask off her face the moment she got into her boss’s private room..

“Ma’am.. there’s a huge problem.. most roads leading out of the city has been closed down temporarily.. I think this had something to do with Mr Anderson”

“Hmm.. that’s good news.. it clearly means this wedding won’t hold.. I can’t wait to see the look on Arya’s face once she finds out that her precious dad has disappeared” The lady murmured with sparkling eyes..

Sharon rolled her eyes hard, sooner or later Mr Anderson will find out where they’ve hidden Mr Carter.

“Ma’am this is very serious.. there’s nowhere to hide him and by the looks of things he’s awake.. when I went to his ward earlier today, his eyes were closed but he…

“Enough! hide him in a toilet, coffin or six feet under the earth! I don’t care! as far as he’s nowhere in sight!”

Sharon inhaled deeply and left the room to carry out her boss’s order even if she felt skeptical about it.. what was the need of abducting Mr Carter? first it was Ray now this old man..

She didn’t have a problem with either of them except Arya, she claims Arya was her biggest enemy but she hasn’t made a direct move on Arya yet..

Two days later…

Arya’s heart pounded against her ribcage as she stared at herself in the mirror, Mia, Elizabeth and other stylist were all around her getting her dressed for her wedding with Kyle..

“Arya you look extremely gorgeous.. after today you’ll become the young Mrs of the Anderson’s and you’ll also be recognized publicly too”

Arya forced a smile at Elizabeth’s words, a part of her was a bit elated about this news a few months ago but now all she felt was uneasiness..

She couldn’t point out what she was feeling but she knew something was wrong, or could it be because she hadn’t visited her dad for some days now or perhaps because Kyle returns late at night and rarely ever spoke to her?

Either way she was still a bit scared, the door pushed open to reveal Ray who was all dressed up in his white tuxedo..

“Come on Ray no one asked you to come in yet or did your dad asked you to spy on Arya?”

Ray giggled but shook his head “No aunt, daddy didn’t send me here.. I came because I wanted to see my mummy looking all pretty”

Arya diverted her attention to him, a little part of her heart warmed up hearing him address her as his mum, maybe because this was the first time he called her that..

“Oh she’s no longer Arya to you?” Mia teasingly asked to receive a firm nod in affirmation..

“I promised to call her mummy only when she got married to daddy.. but I can’t wait anymore for them to get married.. does it take long to get married?”

Elizabeth turned to a maid and gave her a meaningful nod..

She walked towards Ray taking him out with her ….

Lora stared at Vanessa who had been smoking and drinking nonstop since last night..
