Martin placed his burning cigarette on the ashtray next to him as soon as he saw the figure who just walked into his living room..

“What brings you here?”

Vanessa raised a brow at his direct and straightforward question.. she grinned from ear to ear and stood up to her feet..

“I’ve come to ask you for a huge favor Martin”

Martin hummed in reply, he needed to find out what type of favor she wanted because he can’t recall ever striking up a conversation with her before now or ever..

“And what makes you think I’ll grant you this favour after what you pulled off last night? don’t think you can find your way out of this mess this time”

“Of course I know you won’t hesitate to help me once you find out what I want” Vanessa remarked and walked towards him in slow steps, just when she was close enough she leaned forward to him with a slanted grin..

“What do you want?” Martin’s anger laced tone came out in irritation..

“I want to know where Charlotte is..”

Vanessa’s eyes widened when Martin’s hands went around her neck..

He stood up pushing her backwards till her back touched the wall behind her harshly, a groan escaped her lips as his hands tightened even more..

“How am I supposed to answer that? you and everyone else know quite well that she fled from the hospital” Martin grunted to her face and retracted his hands off her neck..

He started walking away but halted his movement when he heard her next word..

“What will you do once Kyle finds out that you were in a secret relationship with his girlfriend back in those days?”

Martin turned sharply to her with a cold glare that sent shivers down her spine, she swallowed hard as she saw him walking towards her once more in large strides..

He lifted her chin up with a finger “And what do you think I’ll do to you if you blab anything to anyone? think about it very carefully.. if Kyle gets to know about what really happened all those years ago.. no one will be spared, not even you!”

Vanessa took in deep breaths as soon as he left her side, she stared at his retreating back and stomped her feet on the floor..

“What does he mean by that? I’m sure he’s the only one who knows the truth about Charlotte.. or perhaps he had a hand in her disappearance”

She stood on the same spot murmuring and mumbling to herself for a while before she decided to leave immediately.. her meeting today with Martin only proved one thing..

Arya and Chloe’s brows furrowed when their cab came to a halt in the middle of the road, they averted their gaze to the driver who was visibly shaking in fear..

“Is everything alright with you?”

Chloe followed his line of sight and was surprised to see four cars blocking the way, she tugged Arya’s shirt and pointed at the cars..

“There’s nothing to talk about” Arya retorted and turned around to leave and to her surprise Kyle pulled out the band holding her hair tied into a ponytail..

She turned sharply to him as her hair cascaded down her shoulder, her eyes widened when he snapped the band into two before her..

Her sentences were left hanging when Kyle swiped her off her feet into his arms..

“Put me down!” She kicked in protest to his abduction, a guard quickly ran to open the car’s door..

Kyle placed her gently in it and got in soon after the car sped past Chloe who was standing still in a daze..

Arya continued her fit as she was brought back into the house, she hated herself for being powerless before him..

Kyle obliged to her request and released his grip on her, he placed both hands on her shoulder and turned her to face the people in the living room..

Arya cleared her throat when she noticed that they were not alone in the living room, she shook his hands off her shoulder and sent a glare to him..

Immediately Ray sighted her he hopped down from Mia’s laps and ran into Arya’s open arms..

“My baby.. I missed you sooo much even if it was just for a few hours” Arya murmured to him accompanied by a chuckle..

Ethan cleared his throat and rose up to his feet, he turned to Elizabeth and Mia who gave him a nod to go on with his brief speech..

“No matter what we do, since Arya is part of the family everything she goes through will affect us indirectly and vice versa.. so the only option left is for you both to get married!”
