Chapter 209 What Are The Odds?
It is with horror that Breyden shoves past me into the room; for one brief moment, he stops dead in his tracks as he is not able to make sense of what he sees in front of him. Well, to say that I am not deadly shocked myself would be one rather an understatement.
To describe what we are all witnessing would be just confusing.
Now it appears that his creature has taken on the form of Lilith. Now, I have had my experience with a shapeshifter before. Let us not forget the battle that happened as the result of that. But that aside, I can for certain say that a shapeshifter will not particularly feed on a human, let alone a Vampire.
But putting all of that aside, apart from their being two of Lilith now, the horrific realization to all of this is that Lilith has indeed been bitten, and at this very present moment as the man is rising off her body, he as so casually ripping the flesh from her neck.
It need not take Breyden but a second, and he is ready to take the creature on, but for one moment, Sam is faster than his intention and pulls him back. “Can you calm down?”
Breyden only but roars at the top of his voice, “Can you save the goddamn woman? Can’t you see the thing is ripping her apart?”
Sam only but increases his grip on Breyden’s arm as he is trying to, which I have forbidden him to do, but he has the intention of porting himself. So with one glance from me and a firm warning from Sam, “Do not act irrationally now.”
“Irrational is what you are going to be if you do not let go of my arm.” Breyden pulls with great force and loosens the grip that Sam had on him. It is in an absolute instant of a millisecond that Breyden takes to port himself next to the creature with the full intention of getting him away from Lilith. But Breyden has made one fatal mistake; the creature’s strength far outmatches that of his own. In lest than one…two…three…Breyden is flung from the side and meets his impact with the far side wall.
Then as he immediately rises to his feet, he ports in front of the creature once again, but as before, Breyden fails to make the contact that he is seeking to get the monster away from Lilith before he rips her to shreds.
As I look over to where she is gasping for air, clenching at her throat where the creature has been feeding, I can hear her mumble words as she tries to call for Breyden. But he is too busy being flung from one side of the room to the other to notice that she is trying to get his intention.
It is in horror as we all stand and watch this scene unfold in front of us.
So Sam turns to Dean and me, and with a newfound urgency to save both Breyden and Lilith, he speaks under the breath of his voice, “Lucas, that goddamn awful monstrosity that has Lilith in his grasp in a Ghoul.”
I only but shake my head at him, “Are they not supposed to be feeding off the dead?”
“No,” Sam starts to explain, they will from time to time feed on the living, and as you can see, they can take the form of their victim, so be careful, for it will try to trick you.”
“I don’t care about the tricking part, my friend. I want to know how do we kill the damn thing?”
Dean that is trying to get Breyden to fall back sticks his head back into the conversation, “Oh, a good old brain bashing will do the trick. Now, do you have a baseball bat?”
“In fact,” I look at him as I smile at Damien, “We have one from ages ago; I have never given it a spin; I guess today might just be my chance.”
“Or else,” Sam only shakes his head at a very frustrated Breyden, “Decapitate the thing before it decapitates your Angel friend.”
But the words go unnoticed on Breyden as he tries with what would be his almost tenth attempt to get the creature away that is with the most determination trying to keep us away from his prey. So not wasting another second, Dean, with Sam, and I create a circle around the creature as Roberto is keeping the door secure.
But then, from behind, I hear the click-clack of what I know is probably red stilettos; Cassidy has once again gone against my orders and lets herself from the confines of her room. Now it is only once, “Cassidy, I am not discussing this now, but you are going to be punished for disobeying me once again. Now just stand at that fucking door and make sure that this thing does not get out. Do you understand?”
I only hear a mumble as the three of us, Sam, Dean, and me, take a stance with Angel blades; well, it was the only thing that we could grip our hand on as we passed the pile of weapons that were lying in the foyer. At least they will come in handy to decapitate this thing if we are unable to bash its brains in.
But that aside…
One…two…three…
Two steps forward…
Blades ahead…
Then charge…
The beast rips Lilith by the arm and drags her to the other side of the room.
We step two steps back…
Slide to the side of the room…
One…two…three…
We leap towards the creature…
It steps back, dragging Lilith with him…
He is driven into a corner. There is a growling noise that is coming from his chest as he tries to fend for his prey. But then the most horrific thing happens as we are staring the creature in the face. From absolute nowhere, “Get away from me, or she dies.”
Well, slap me fucking slap some sense into me, but this goddamn thing just speak?
I watch as Sam smirks at me, and with one brief chuckle, “Oh, I might have forgotten to mention that one small detail.”
I only but grunt at him as I…once again…
One…two…three…
Speed towards the corner where the Ghoul is keeping Lilith, but yet again, “Get away from me or she dies.”
“Well, my friend…”
My words are not even there, and he has Lilith sliding behind him as he has her by both hands.
How goddamn strong is that thing?
Well, that I shall soon find out…
In three steps, I leap forward through the air, but…

The creature smashes his hands into my chest and pushes me against the wall that Roberto and Cassidy are providing.
Next up is Breyden; with the speed that he can port, he gets thrown back into the side of me…
Followed by him is Sam with his blade, but he soon loses it as the creature grabs him by the shoulders and throws him against the post of the bed.
Well, Dean is convinced…but no…
In an inch of a second, he lands next to his brother on the floor.
Well, let us go for round two then…
Driving my blade forward, I manage to push it into the side of the creature…
I scream in Victory, “Take that, you bastard.”
But it is short-lived as it grabs me by the hand and flips me around, and pushes me off into the cupboard on the side. With one loud thud, I hit my head hard against the wood in total frustration.
Then just as Sam is about to make his next attempt, Damien finally enters the room with the baseball bat, which I might have forgotten to mention is wrapped in barbwire.
I watch as Dean only smiles, “Now that is what I am talking about.”
So not wasting one second, I grab our own makeshift weapon and turn to the Ghoul that has…
“My god! No!”
Well, I have had just enough of these creatures for one day. I would like to have a meal and sit down for the evening without anybody trying to kill me.
And it is with that thought that I step towards this animal while he drops Lilith like a bag to the floor. I do not know if the woman is alive or dead anymore. It is that which sets a rage through me that lights a fire in my soul; I have absolute fury and hatred burning in me.
This shall now be the end.
Next, I step forward in slow and easy steps, not showing one flinch of fear…
Then…
I lift the bat and draw it back over my shoulder…
It swings through the air with a swift speed; I can hear the whoosh it makes as it passes by my ear and flings to the front of me. I can see the tiny blades of the barbwire start piercing into the skin of the creature as it makes a direct impact with its dirty and bloodied face.
With one squish sound, the skin erupts, and the blood spatters from his face and drops to the floor in a pitter-patter…
Dean only nods at me.
Then…
I lay brutal force down on it and hammer the bat continuously into the skull of the creature. With each blow, I make a dent into his skull, slowly cracking at the bone that protects its useless brain. It takes me only a few more seconds, and I have hit the target with pure precision. The tiny specs of brain matter start to cling to the bat as I give the creature a good final bashing.
And as it finally drops to the floor, I have Breyden rushing past me and pulling Lilith’s body in his arms.
