Super Mommy and Her Triplets

Chapter 748

Chapter 748

Huntley struggled to sit up. Juliana, seeing the situation, quickly reached out and pressed down on his shoulder.

“Don't move around. Don't cause any further harm to your limbs.”

Huntley looked at her anxiously and urgently asked, “What happened? Why did you suddenly start coughing up blood?”

Juliana shook her head, wiping away the bloodstains from the corner of her mouth, and said, “I don't know. It's probably due to recent excessive exertion. It's nothing serious, so you don't need to worry. Drink the soup while it's still hot. The doctor said you need to replenish your nutrients.”

A hint of hesitation flickered in Huntley's eyes as he noticed her evasive gaze. He asked in a deep voice, “What's really going on with you? Don't hide it from me. After all we've been through, is there anything we can't be honest about?”

Juliana fell silent. After a while, she slowly reached out and touched her own wrist. Over the past few years, she had learned quite a bit of medical knowledge from Bailey. Although she wasn't proficient, she still had a basic understanding of taking a pulse.

“I might have been poisoned, and it's the kind of poison that ordinary people can't cure,” Juliana admitted. Huntley's face darkened, and his emotions started to escalate again.

“So you...” Juliana quickly reassured him.

“Don't worry, I won't die anytime soon. I suspect they are trying to lure my master to Moranta. They

intend to target my master, not me. So, for now, I am still safe.”

Huntley pressed his lips together, a trace of frustration crossing his eyes. At this critical moment of danger, he felt completely helpless, unable to move or contribute in any way.

He could only lie in bed like a useless person, unable to assist in the slightest.

Not only that, but he also had to distract her with his care, and in all his years of living, he had never felt as helpless as he did now.

“Juliana, I'm sorry. I've been a burden to you. If it weren't for me, you could have found a way to escape the family and reunite with your master. You wouldn't be trapped in this dangerous situation, facing enemies from all sides,” Huntley said with remorse.

Juliana's face darkened, and a flash of anger flickered in her eyes. She suddenly stood up from the ground, towering over him, and stared at him with tears in her eyes.

Choking on her words, she said, “Huntley, all the hardships we've endured together these days would have been pointless if you keep saying things like that. If you say it again, I'll give this life back to you.” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

As she spoke, tears rolled down her cheeks, streaming from the corners of her eyes. Huntley attempted to reach out and hold her, but as soon as he made a slight movement with his arm, intense pain shot through his wrist, forcing him to give up.

“Stop crying. Let's focus on the matter at hand. Since they're targeting your master, should you contact her to come and detoxify you?” Juliana shook her head.

“Life and death are determined by fate, and my master is currently very busy. Let's not bother her. However, I have a feeling that even if I don't say anything, someone will inform her about my poisoning. So, let's not dwell on it and leave it to fate.”

Huntley nodded and urged her, “Then go back and rest quickly. Don't worry about taking care of me anymore. I have housekeepers here to attend to my needs. You don't need to personally handle everything.”

Juliana wiped her tears haphazardly and squatted back down to feed him the soup once again.

“As long as you don't provoke me with words like 'useless' or 'burden,' I'll be fine. Because when emotions flare up, the toxins spread faster. You wouldn't want to unintentionally aggravate me to death, would you?”

Huntley couldn't help but chuckle.

“Alright, I won't say it anymore. I promise not to provoke you and make you angry.”

Juliana looked at his smiling face and couldn't help but let a gentle smile grace her own lips as well.

She felt good to be by the side of a man who loved her dearly in this lifetime. Although her heart was not currently with him, there was still a long half of a lifetime ahead of them. She had plenty of time to let him find a place in her heart.

At Tarragon Headquarters, in the laboratory, Cameron slammed his hand fiercely on the table, abruptly springing up from his chair.

“What's the point of discussing? Our predecessors couldn't figure it out even if they spent their entire lives researching. Unraveling it in a few days is simply impossible!”

Bailey glared at him fiercely and pointed toward the door, her voice chillingly sharp.

“If you find it bothersome, then get out. Don't stay here and get in my way. No one asked you to accompany me in this endeavor.”

Cameron leaned in, bringing his face closer to hers, and stared at her for a moment.

Gritting his teeth, he said, “Woman, you don't even know chalk from cheese. I've helped you so much, and instead of gratitude, all I get is your disdain.”

Bailey ignored him completely and focused on tinkering with the sample of toxin in her hand.

Cameron touched his nose, seemingly struck by an idea, and his eyes suddenly lit up.

“Bailey, what are your thoughts on countering the poison with another toxin? Your disciple had this crazy idea of using cancer to counteract cancer. Why not take inspiration from her and give it a try? After all, desperate times call for desperate measures. Surviving would be her fortune, and if not, it's her fate.”

Bailey grabbed a nearby glass of water and splashed it on his face, then asked with a sinister tone, “Have you ever seen a toxin as deadly as Soul Reaper? Countering poison with another toxin? Let me tell you, someone who has been poisoned by Soul Reaper is immune to any other toxins.” Cameron snorted.

“If one doesn't work, try ten. If ten doesn't work, try a hundred. Mix them together and inject them into her body. Perhaps there's one combination that can eradicate Soul Reaper from her bloodstream, and then we can deal with the other toxins. This method is so perfect. Are you sure you don't want to give it a try?”

Bailey hurled the glass that she hadn't let go of yet toward Cameron.

“Get out!”

Just as she finished shouting, Zeke walked in from outside. Bailey glanced at Zeke and furrowed her brow, noticing that he was alone.

“Where's Artemis? You guys went out together, but you came back alone. Did you lose him?” Zeke couldn't help but rub his forehead and let out a sigh.

“When Artemis isn't around, I might have a chance to catch your attention. But when he is around, I become invisible.”

Bailey let out a cold snort.

“Of course. He is the precious one in my heart. At best, you are just my brother.”

Zeke cleared his throat, composed himself, and spoke earnestly, “Speaking of which, I received a message from Moranta. Sofie poisoned Juliana, and while it's not impossible to cure, only you have the ability to do so.”

Bailey couldn't help but scoff, showing no surprise at the news.

They believed they had control over Artemis and Holden, and with Micah's ambition dampened by Shannon's influence, they considered him no longer a threat worth worrying about. Setting aside those individuals, the only nuisance left is me. Naturally, they would try every possible means to involve me, aiming to ensure that I have no way to escape.

“Even if they didn't poison Juliana, I was planning to deal with them anyway. Their actions are simply unnecessary at this point,” Bailey remarked.

Upon hearing that, Zeke tried to confirm, “Are you suggesting that we pay a visit to the Hoffman family?” Bailey remained silent for a moment, gritting her teeth.

“Let's wait a little longer. I'll see if I can find a way to detoxify. We'll give it a week. If we can't find a solution, I'll accompany you to the Hoffman family and confront Sofie. After that, we'll return to Hallsbay and resolve the matter concerning the children. Zeke, I entrust them to you for the future. I have made up my mind and am determined to stand by Artemis, come what may.”

Zeke turned his face slightly away and said, “Let's discuss it when that moment comes.”

Cameron coldly snorted from the side and said, “Since we've already decided to risk our lives, why not try my method? We'll go all out and leave no stone unturned.”
