Revenge Against My Ex-husband

Chapter 112 Hard Time Sleeping That Night

Chapter 112 Hard Time Sleeping That Night

After Edric drove Monica out, she called Irene, "The person drove me out."

Irene had expected that Edric would kick Monica out. That night, she was merely using this method to

disgust him. Hearing Monica's words, Irene smiled at the thought of Edric being furious. Edric had

mysophobia, so he would have a hard time sleeping that night, right?

Irene was gloating in her heart when Maisy came to knock on the door. "Irene, someone called just

now and said that something had happened to your uncle. He asked you to go and have a look

quickly!"

When Irene heard that, she picked up her purse and ran out immediately. When Irene was about to hail

a taxi by the road, a car suddenly rushed out and stopped in front of her.

Seeing Edric, Irene instantly realized that she was fooled. Under Edric's gaze, she got on the car. Edric

stared at her sinisterly for a few minutes before hissing, "Irene, how dare you?!"

"Why did you say that, Mr. Myers?" Irene looked at him fearlessly.

"Pretending to be a fool, huh? Great!" Edric gnashed his teeth in anger. Did she think that if he put him

on her blacklist, then he wouldn't have a way to find her? Dream on! He handed Irene a phone and

said, "I got this for you. You must keep it turned on for 24 hours!"

"Thank you! Actually, you don't have to come here personally. You can ask your executive assistant to

send it to me." Irene took the phone and put it in her purse.

"Do you think I came to look for you just to give you that phone?" Edric mocked.

"Otherwise?" Irene looked at Edric coldly. "Today is my mother's death anniversary. Are you really

going to do such a thing on this kind of occasion?"

Edric was stunned for a moment. Was it Myra's death anniversary? D*mn it! He had forgotten about it!

"I..." He didn't know what to say for a moment.

A sneer appeared at the corner of Irene's mouth. "I'll keep the phone on for twenty-four hours a day

once I return. You can give me an order or errand anytime, but today is an exception!" She opened the

door and got off the car after saying that.

Edric looked at her back, his heart twitched uncomfortably. When Irene met him before, her eyes were

cold, but they never harbored any hatred towards him. However, he didn't know when she started to

look at him with disgust. Edric leaned back on the seat and carefully recalled the time he had spent

with her. Irene's hatred for him seemed to have started since his engagement with Lily.

Edric couldn't help but think of their phone call that night. Irene said that she didn't want him to be

engaged to Lily, and she would consider getting back together with him if he chose to turn away from

Lily. It must be because of his ruthlessness and indifference that she started to hate him so much.

Edric sighed deeply. He deserved it! Why did he give up such a good opportunity?

The next morning, Jordan and Joanne's engagement news in Mencodia was reported by the media.

When Irene left her room, she could already hear the news as Lily and Deborah talked about it loudly in

the living room.

"Joanne is so beautiful and has such a good background. She matches Jordan very well in all aspects!"

Lily loudly claimed as if she was scared that Irene couldn't hear her. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Irene's hand, which was holding the door handle, suddenly froze. They got engaged so soon! It was

only expected for Jordan to be engaged to Joanne, but Irene's heart couldn't help missing several

beats after hearing it.

Naturally, Lily and Deborah would not give up that opportunity to provoke Irene. The two continued to

talk about the grand occasion of Jordan's engagement.

Irene wanted to calm herself down, but she found that she couldn't as that pair of b*tches were

determined to break her heart. She opened the door and strode out.

She didn't know where she was going. She ended up wandering around aimlessly. She didn't stop until

her feet started to hurt.

It was only then that she realized that she had come out of the house empty-handed. She touched her

pocket and found that it still had a few coins in it. God was probably helping her given her current

situation.

The news of Jordan's engagement came so suddenly; Edric just learned about it too. After hearing

Jordan's engagement, he felt so much relieved.

Compared to Nathan, Jordan was a much stronger opponent for him. Nathan was a fine gentleman,

thus he would not use any extreme means to get his hand on Irene. However, Jordan was different. He

was an experienced businessman, and he wouldn't play his cards like a usual man. Irene being by his

side every day meant that Irene was in danger every day.

Although a strong enemy of his had disappeared, Edric's relief only stayed for a short while. Wasn't

Jordan determined to marry Irene? Why did he suddenly get engaged to Joanne? Was it because he

asked Irene to become his secret lover too?

No men could accept the woman they love having sex with another man. Naturally, this included

Jordan. Edric felt a little guilty as Irene's hatred towards him was probably because he separated her

and Jordan.

He picked up the phone and called Irene. He wanted to ask her out, but no one answered the phone.

Edric couldn't sit still, hence he went to see Irene.

After waiting around the Cook family for more than an hour, Edric finally saw Irene. She had her hands

in her pockets and looked exceedingly lonely. Edric greeted her, "Irene!"

Irene looked at Edric indifferently. "What can I do for you, Mr. Myers?"

Edric reached out and took Irene's hand. "I want to talk to you."

"Spit it!" Irene replied.

"Irene, I didn't know about Eden's illness until now. I'm sorry." Edric's face was plastered with remorse.

Frankly, he sounded rather sincere. However, Irene only found it extremely ironic. She would always

remember the words that Edric had used to reject her that night. She would never forget it for her whole

life.

"Mr. Myers, I do not need this from you. You are not anyone to me either. There is nothing for you to be

sorry about," Irene said.

Looking at her indifferent expression and hearing her unkind words, Edric felt a sharp pain in his heart.

"Irene, w-w-what you said the other night, were they true?"

"What do you mean?" Irene asked.

"About us getting back together," Edric answered.

Irene smiled sarcastically. "Mr. Myers, I have answered this question before, and I'll answer it again

happily. Please listen carefully. I wasn't thinking straight at that time, so I made the wrong call."

"Irene, I'm sorry!" After all, they had been husband and wife for three years. At that time, Edric finally

understood what he had missed. "I didn't mean to say that. I was just afraid that you would play tricks

on me, so I..."

"It was indeed my intention to trick you at that time. That was why I called you. Fortunately, you were

smart and didn't fall into my trap," Irene interrupted him.

"Irene, you don't have to worry about Eden's illness. I will help you." Edric lowered his head.

"How will you help me? By giving me money? Edric, I don't want your money or your fake concern.

You'd better just stay aside and remain unbothered!" Irene retorted.

"Irene, it's not just money. I can take care of you and Eden," Edric replied.

"Take care of us? Do you even deserve to do that?" Irene sneered. How could an engaged man offer to

take care of Eden and her? What right did he have?

Irene wanted to satirize Edric further, but she thought it was unnecessary to do so. "Mr. Myers, I am

exhausted now. If you have no other questions, can you let me go back and have a rest?"

"Irene!" Before Edric could continue, he was interrupted by a gentle voice. "Edric, Irene?"

Without them noticing, Lily's car had stopped beside them. At that moment, she was rolling down the

car window while looking at Edric and Irene in surprise.

Upon seeing Lily, Irene showed Lily a faint smile. She raised the hand that was grabbed by Edric while

looking at Lily and chuckled.

"Miss Cook, you came at the right time. Your fiance might be insane. He stopped me and said

something incomprehensible. He also promised that he would take care of my child and me. Please

send him to the hospital for a check-up. I really suspect that he's crazy."

Lily's expression was a sight to behold. Irene knew that at this moment, Lily must be outraged deep

down. Finally, Irene managed to avenge herself. Then, she forcefully shook off Edric's hand and strode

away.

Irene left all the subsequent trouble to the couple. It didn't matter whether they would quarrel or

reconcile. It had nothing to do with her.

Lily opened the door and got out of the car. She walked to Edric and shouted, "Edric!"

Edric did not explain; his silence meant that he had tacitly admitted what Irene had just said. Lily was

fuming in her heart, but her expression remained unchanged. "Edric, I know you can't forget Irene. I

don't blame you."

"I'm sorry!" Edric apologized and marched away.

Watching Edric leave, Lily turned around and got into the car with a fierce look in her almond-colored

eyes. "Irene, just you wait. I won't let you go!"

When Irene reached the villa, she heard the sound of a car coming from behind. Lily had actually come

back. Irene found it a little peculiar. Logically, wouldn't Edric need to make an explanation for Lily?

What made Irene feel strange was what happened after. Lily stopped the car and quickly caught up

with her. She thought that Lily would be angry, but she couldn't see a trace of unhappiness on Lily's

face, and Lily even grinned at her.

Irene felt goosebumps all over her skin. She really underestimated Lily. How was she still able to smile

at that point?

After dinner, Lily went out for a stroll with Deborah. She told Deborah about how Edric held Irene's

hand. "Mom, Edric didn't even explain anything to me. I'm so angry."

"Whoa, that's unbelievable! He's already engaged to you, and yet he's still thinking about that little

b*tch!" Deborah frowned. "We have to find a way to destroy their relationship. I think the best way is for

you and Edric to get married immediately and move out."

"Things won't be as easy as you think." Lily felt that it was unrealistic for her to get married to Edric

immediately.

"Even if it's not easy, we still have to think of a way." Deborah sneered. "I will discuss it with Marie and

asked for her help. I won't let the b*tch go so easily."

"Will Marie help us?" Lily asked.

"Yes, she will. She will do whatever I ask her to," Deborah replied.

"Mom, I have always been very curious, why is Marie always helping us?" Marie had participated in

their scheme against Irene from the beginning. Lily was puzzled, why would Marie be so persistent to

help them?

"There was a love feud between her and Irene's mother," Deborah stated.

"So it's because of that?" Lily still found it rather unfathomable. "Mom, you have to be careful. I don't

think Marie is worthy of a friendship; I'm afraid that she will bite us back."

"Don't worry. She won't do anything to us no matter what," Deborah assured Lily.

"Why so?" Lily asked curiously.

"It's a secret!" Deborah smirked sinisterly, but she refused to tell Lily the truth no matter how persistent

Lily asked.

The next day, Marie was surprised to see Deborah at the hospital. She closed the door and asked,

"What's the matter?"

"It's about Lily." Deborah sat down and told her everything about Irene's return to the Cook family.

"Edric is still not over that little b*tch. I've thought about it for a whole night and I could only think of one

way, that is to get them to marry as soon as possible. Please meet up with Margaret to hear her opinion

on this."

"Okay," Marie agreed at once.
