Reckless Marriage Unyielding Love

Chapter 30

Chapter 30

“I’m wondering if I can make enough money to pay for your wedding. Maxius said with a bright smile.

Mikayla had never tried to hide her relationship with Jaxon, and Maxius, despite being abroad, was aware of it, but he wasn’t up–to–date with the latest events in Xosa.

“I’m not going to marry him!” Mikayla said, as if recalling something from long ago. Maxius was surprised, but a flicker of unnoticeable hope flashed in his eyes. But it lasted only for a moment before Mikayla crushed it. “You’ll find out soon enough who I end up marrying,” she added.

Maxius‘ eyes went dim at that. After a long pause, he piped up, “Sure

“I asked you to come back and help because I need your support through this tough time,” Mikayla went on, not noticing how Maxius’s mood had shifted.

When it came to business, Maxius hid his emotions and shared his thoughts after listening to Mikayla. There are risks, but it’s doable. The tough part will be the early stages. Some of our local tech isn’t quite there yet. Let me think…

In the freezing winter, a warm bed was a luxury. Juliet tossed and turned, trying to find a comfortable position.

Groaning, Juliet finally opened her eyes, clutching her head as a splitting headache hit her. The classic hangover, she thought. If she didn’t desperately need to pee, she would have gladly stayed in bed for ages.

Slowly, she dragged herself out of bed and staggered to the toilet. She almost fell over as she squatted. Unsteady, she made her way to the sink to wash her hands. Then she caught a glimpse

of herself in the mirror and gasped.

“Ah!” She barely recognized the woman staring back at her. Her hair was a tangled mess, and her makeup was smeared all over her face. Dark smudges under her eyes–was it mascara or eyeliner? -and her lipstick was smeared badly. She looked like a real–life version of a horror movie character.

“What happened last night?‘ Juliet tried to recall. She remembered a top male escort and then some wild, suggestive moments flashed through her mind. Frustrated with herself, she yanked at her hair and paced back and forth in the bathroom. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

‘Holy crap! How did he even feel like doing anything with this face of mine last night? Must’ve been so hard for him!‘ she thought

Just then, Mikayla’s phone blinked twice. A text message popped up, making her hand tremble and almost drop the phone. It was from Juliet: [Girl, I finally lost my virginity!]

Juliet’s phone died right after sending the message. As she turned to leave the bathroom and get back to bed, she froze. Standing there was a towering man.

She reflexively slammed the door shut. “What’s that escort doing here? What the heck! I was out of it last night, but seeing hirn in broad daylight is so awkward. He’s my first, after all!‘ she shouted in her heart.

She glanced at herself in the mirror, brushed her hair, and flashed a smile. Despite the mess, she still felt she looked good.

Pretending to be calm, Juliet opened the door and walked past Elvis, grabbing her handbag. She pulled out a wad of cash from her royal blue purse without counting it. After closing the purse, she felt she owed him more because of her behavior last night and took out even more money.

“Well. Um Here’s your tip. Thanks for last night,” Juliet said, handing the cash to the man standing still.

Elvis looked at the money, furious. My tip? If it weren’t for Carlos asking me to make sure she was safe, I wouldn’t have

stayed on guard all night. I’d never have come inside if it hadn’t been for her awful screams, he thought. After making sure Juliet was fine with a cold glance, he walked out without saying a word.

Juliet pursed her lips. It was her first time seeing such an arrogant gigolo. “You were good last night. If my friends ever need a man, I’ll definitely recommend your she called after him.

Elvis, who had just reached the door, suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine.
