My Toyboy 285
Early the next morning. Cynthia went to Rachel’s restaurant. It had been open for over half a month and the business was really good.
Rachel needed to buy groceries every morning. She was swamped. She did everything in person and never had time for a break. Cynthia would sometimes go help her out.
By the time Cynthia arrived, Rachel was washing vegetables. Cynthia took off her coat, rolled up her sleeves, and went to help her. She wasn’t an excellent cook, but she was skilled at doing such small tasks.
Rachel didn’t want her to do hard work. “Cynthia, you don’t have to come so early. As I said, you don’t need to do this. You were not bom to do this.”
Cynthia’s hands were delicate and slender, Rachel didn’t want her to do rough work. “I can do anything,” Cynthia said
After working for a while, Cynthia took a break. At that time, her phone rang. She frowned at the familiar number on the
screen.
Even though she deleted Lilian’s number, Cynthia still remembered it. She should have blocked her. Anyway, she still answered the call.
Cynthia was certain Filip confronted Lilian the night before because of the medicine. She couldn’t help but wonder what exactly had happened and why Filip had taken the medicine.
To Cynthia’s surprise, Lilian didn’t call to scold her this time. Her voice had a hint of a smile in it. She seemed in a good mood. “Are you at Carefree Diner now?”
Cynthia frowned. For some reason, Lilian always seemed to know exactly where she was. “Lilian, are you watching me?” she asked in a cold voice.
“I was just guessing. I’m in Red Carpet Bridal Studio at Pearl Plaza. Do you want to come over?” Lilian replied.
Lilian sounded like she was talking to an old friend. But Cynthia felt odd. She thought, ‘Lilian has been acting strangely recently.
Lilian seemed to forget what their relationship was. She still considered Cynthia her high school best friend. “Lilian. I’ve told you many times. Don’t call me again.”
Cynthia guessed that Lilian might want to flaunt her upcoming wedding with Filip. Lilian finally stole Filip from her and married him. It was a huge victory. Of course, she wanted to show off her victory.
Just as Cynthia was about to hang up the phone, Lilian continued. “Come over here and I’ll tell you how Silas died.”
Silas‘ death remained a mystery. Cynthia knew Lilian wouldn’t be kind enough to tell her, but she went anyway.
Although Red Carpet Bridal Studio wasn’t large, it was owned by Yosef Gibson, a well–known bridal dress designer in the country. He was popular among celebrities. He frequently designed evening dresses and bridal dresses for them. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
Of course, his bridal dresses were quite expensive.
When Cynthia got there, Lilian was stepping out of the fitting room in a wedding gown. She stood before a huge full–length mirror, admiring herself.
Four staff members were serving her. They constantly flattered her. “Mrs. Yates, this wedding gown looks great on you. You look like a fairy.”
“Mrs. Yates, even though you’re eight months pregnant, you still look slim in this bridal dress. Nobody will know you’re
carrying a child.”
“Mrs. Yates, you’ll be the most beautiful woman in the city in thi dress!”
Lilian seemed very satisfied. She suddenly saw Cynthia standing at the door through the mirror. Turning around, she said, “Cynthia, you’re here!”
Cynthia walked in and looked at Lilian. She looked stunning in her bridal dress, adorned with small diamonds that sparkled. under the lights.
Cynthia moved closer to her. “Does it look good on me?” Lilian asked, gently lifting her skirt.
Cynthia didn’t answer but asked her in front of everyone instead, Lilian, I’m here. Can you tell me how Silas died?”
Cynthia only wanted to know the answer. She didn’t care about others. She thought Lilian would ask the staff to leave first.
To her surprise, Lilian asked her instead. “Cynthia, will be my bridesmaid?”
Rather than answer her question, Cynthia continued, “You must have something to do with Silas‘ death”
“I even got a bridesmaid dress for you. Take a look to see if you like it or not,” Lilian said, smiling.
“Lilian, you are not Silas‘ killer, are you?” Cynthia asked.
“Ms. Zabel, could you please bring Ms. Jones the bridesmaid dress?” Lilian said.
The staff standing beside Lilian were stunned. These two of them had been talking at cross purposes.
It was weird. As Lilian requested, the manager Tracey Zabel still brought a bridesmaid dress for Cynthia.
It was custom–made, too. It looked stunning, matching the bridal dress perfectly. The style was simpler, but the material and craftsmanship were just as superb as the bridal dress.
It seemed quite odd because the bridesmaid dress was almost the same price as the bridal dress. It was rare for a bride to spend so much money on a bridesmaid dress.
First, the price was too high. Second, no bride would want her bridesmaid to steal her thunder.
However, Lilian didn’t care about it at all. She put a lot of thought into it and told them it was tailor– made for her best friend. It made them admire their friendship
But it was not the case. They didn’t dare to make reckless guesses about their relationship.
Soon, the staff brought Cynthia the bridesmaid dress. “Ms. Jones do you need help trying on this dress?”
“Lilian, why are you so sure I’ll be your bridesmaid?” Cynthia grined, glancing at it.
Lilian lifted her skirt and walked slowly down the steps to Cynthia “It’s my wish. As long as you’re willing to be my bridesmaid, I’ll tell you what happened back then and how Silas died.”
Lilian looked sincere. “Otherwise, you’ll never know for the rest of your life.”
Cynthia frowned at Lilian. “Lilian, what exactly are you trying to do?”
