Never Blinded by Love (Linda and Wilson)

Never 228

Chapter 228

Mimicking an adult, Lexi patted Linda's back to comfort her. "It's okay, Mommy. I know you and Daddy are busy working and can't spend much time with me. It's because you need to earn a lot of money for me to live a wonderful life! I don't blame you and Daddy."

A three-year-old kid naturally knew nothing about working and earning money. All she knew was that they did it to give her a better life.

The more Lexi tried to comfort her, the more Linda felt sorry for her. She was the one who brought Lexi home yet didn't fulfill her responsibilities as a mother.

"What are you guys talking about?" Samson surprisingly arrived home early today.

It had been a while since Lexi saw him at night. She quickly lunged at him and asked, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy! What have you been doing lately? Why don't I see you at night anymore?"Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Samson set his belongings down and carried her. "I've been busy earning money to buy you a bigger house, Lexi. Have you missed me?"

She nodded emphatically. "I miss you every day, Daddy. Also, Zoey doesn't tell me why you haven't been home. She only said I'll see you in the morning."

Her words prompted him to glance at Linda. "That's right. You see me every morning, don't you?"

"But I also want to see you before going to bed."

"Then, why don't I sleep with you tonight?"

Lexi nodded again before planting a kiss on his cheek, a child's innocent way of expressing joy.

Later, Zoey brought Lexi to shower, while Samson accompanied Linda in finishing the building block. "Thank goodness I made it back home every night so that she could see me

in the morning. I've always thought it was harmful for her to watch those cartoons. I guess I was ignorant."

Lexi had learned many things from watching cartoons without any guidance from them.

"It's about time we register her for preschool."

Linda seemed rather gloomy at the mention of that topic. "To be honest with you, I don't feel like doing that yet."

"But we can't make her stay by our sides forever. We can look for a preschool with excellent facilities. It'll be okay." Samson knew well that Linda was concerned about Lexi's safety.

"We'll schedule a day and check out the schools, alright? It's still early, though. Enrollment won't start until September, and it's not even May yet..."

He suddenly thought of something. "Anyway, how's the variety show? Has your friend discussed it with you?"
