Chapter 323
Chapter 323
I pouted, staring at Aaron with rounded eyes.
He took a sip of coffee and said, "You know I'm good at IT, and I've also explored quite a bit in Al. Even
a few of the companies under my command are researching Al. You know I'll help you if you told me
that."
I shrugged, "I'll be fine if you don't want to help. I can always find another way."
He smiled, seemingly had no idea what to do with me, and said, "Well, how do you want me to help
you?"
"I'm thinking of talking to the director of Fantasia Company and see if Granger Group can acquire
Fantasia Company. So, I'm telling you to not fight for the opportunity with me," I was grave, almost
begging. "Aaron, I know it won't be easy to take down the Moore family. But I need to succeed in
purchasing Fantasia Company. It's the only way for me to gain a firm foothold in Granger Group so that
I can do what I want!"
He sighed, "Okay, I won't fight with you for Fantasia Company. But Arianna, I still don't think you can do
anything to the Moore family with support only from Granger Group."
I looked at him and said with certainty, "That won't be the case if you, the Roberts family, and Irvin are
also involved, right?"
He was stunned for a moment. When he realized what I was plotting, he sighed, "Arianna, you're really
going to use everyone and everything you can, aren't you?"
I pursed my lips. People would change. They would do anything and everything once they found
something they wanted to protect or destroy. Aaron shouldn't expect I would still be the same as I was
before I lost my child.
Looking at him, I let out a sigh of breath and said, "You can refuse."
Aaron raised his eyebrows and asked, "Do you think I'll ever refuse you?"
I shook my head, "You won't."
He smiled, and the smile alone was self-explanatory.
For the first time, I found that Aaron was rather chatty. He had been talking non-stop for the whole
afternoon. Since I had reached an agreement with him on Fantasia Company and Al, I wasn't in a hurry
to go home. So, I listened to him with folded arms.
He continued, "Arianna, I've been thinking about how I'll spend my final days for all these years. But
every time, I'd think of you.
That's when I realized that I won't be able to let go of you for the rest of my life."
I stared at him. I didn't know exactly what to say in response to his near confession. Instead, I replied to
him in a light tone, "There's still a long way into your future. It's too soon for you to say such things."
I couldn't promise anything about his future. I had cornered myself into a dead-end, fueled by the
hatred in me. Therefore, I wouldn't guarantee anything for anyone for their future. I was so selfish that I
didn't even want to give him any hope.
Seeing that I was a little distracted, he asked, "Are you tired? Do you want me to send you back to
rest?"
I nodded and went out of the cafe with him.
On the way back to Central Park Residence, I began to feel a little sleepy. Aaron didn't continue talking
to me. Instead, he put on gentle music and let me fall asleep in peace.
However, I couldn't fall asleep. I leaned back on the seat, closing my eyes, and pretended to be This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
sleeping. I wouldn't even sleep well on the bed on most days, let alone in a moving car at this moment.
Even though I was very sleepy, I didn't fall asleep until we arrived at the Central Park Residence. When
the car stopped, I opened my eyes and saw Aaron getting out of the car with a long face.
Hendrix was standing in front of Aaron's car. He seemed a little gaunt, and it looked as though he had
been waiting at the gate of the residential area for quite some time.
Aaron's heart was boiling, and he swung his fist at Hendrix without saying a word after getting out of
the car. Hendrix didn't fight back, letting Aaron hit him.
I didn't even think about going to stop the fight. I only stayed seated in the car and looked at them
without much expression.
After a long time, Aaron was probably finally exhausted. He slumped on the ground next to Hendrix, but
his anger didn't subside. He growled, "Hendrix, no man in this world deserves going to hell more than
you."
Hendrix didn't answer Aaron. Instead, he got up from the ground with a straight posture. Even though
he was injured, he maintained his temper, and he was still as gracious as he usually did.
He stood in front of the car, looking at me with his dark eyes. Our eyes met. There was a lot of emotion
in his eyes, maybe even love. But I couldn't find the love for him in me, haunted by all the cruel
memories.
