Chapter 310 Moral Hypocrisy
Chapter 310 Moral Hypocrisy
At 7 o’clock in the evening, the contestants in the four villas were complaining in the chat. group.
Contestant A: We’re starving to death! All we have is instant noodles, not to mention we bought them on credit from the production team!
Contestant B: You guys at least have instant noodles. As a grown man, I can’t even satisfy my hunger with two packs of instant noodles. I’ve already used up the fifty coins given to me by the production team, and now I don’t know what I’m going to eat tomorrow!
Contestant C: Is participating in a competition supposed to cost us our lives?
Amidst the discussions, someone suddenly said: I think I’m hallucinating. I smell a strong. aroma of hot pot, and it’s the spicy kind that I like! NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
In Villa No. 4 where Freya was staying, she was busying herself in the open kitchen, wearing
an apron.
Brisa, who couldn’t cook, sat obediently at the countertop, supporting her chin with her hands, looking like a cute little girl waiting for food to be served.
Freya poured the whole packet of spicy hot pot base into the pot. The broth instantly turned bright red, covered with small red chili
peppers.
Seeing that Brisa was bored waiting, Freya decided to prepare the salmon first. The salmon was large enough for them to have a meal today and make a few more salads.
Freya took a quarter of the fish, sliced it, and placed it on crushed ice. She also ground some wasabi and prepared soy sauce, which she placed in front of Brisa.
“You can eat while you wait. I’ve heard your stomach growling several times already,” Freya said with a smile.
Brisa was deeply moved and picked up a piece of salmon with her utensils and handed it to Freya. “Freya, from now on, you’re my idol!”
Brisa had a baby face to begin with, and when she acted cute, she even had a slightly childish voice. She looked completely different from her usual appearance when she played with flying knives like a pro.
Cute compliments filled the live stream comment section.
The production team also took notice and focused on Villa No. 4.
The strong aroma of the hot pot quickly attracted many people to come out of their rooms.
When some people saw that it was Freya, they immediately fell silent.
Others were eager to give it a try. After all, the desire to satisfy their hunger could overcome anything.
“Miss Kaufmann, what is this-”
The girl who had lent Freya instant noodles stepped forward, wanting to ask a question.
But someone called out from behind.
“Freya Kaufmann, don’t you know the rules set by the production team? Where did you get. so many ingredients from, and why are you eating them all by yourself?”
Freya frowned, and Brisa put down the utensils in her hand and drummed her fingertips impatiently on the table.
Freya was slicing beef rolls, her voice cold. “We exchanged them with coins. If you want to eat, you can earn them yourself.”
“Stop lying! I overheard the staff talking. It’s extremely difficult to earn coins. How could they let you have such a feast?”
Freya’s knife was sharp, and she sliced the beef evenly, without any mistakes.
Brisa stared at the knife in Freya’s hand and sneered, then glanced at the two women causing trouble. I knew it. They’re the ones who made the most noise in the chat group.
“What’s your problem?”
“We’re all starving here, and you two are preparing a feast. Don’t you have any sense of unity?” the woman on the left questioned with a moralistic look. “Even if you really earned. the coins, you should help each other. What’s the point of deliberately showing off here?”
Freya was speechless. Moral hypocrisy at its best.
Brisa picked up a small knife from the table next to Freya and twirled it in her hand. She turned her head and looked at the two women making a fuss.
“You ask us to help you out with the coins we earned, then what about you? Sit around and starve until you die?”
“Once we earn some, we’ll naturally share with you.” The woman angrily retorted, “You’re judging others by your own petty standards!”
Seeing the knife in Brisa’s hand swinging faster and faster, Freya knew that Brisa was getting. irritated.
Brisa was always reasonable, but she didn’t like it when people kept talking nonsense to her.
Freya put down her kitchen knife.
At this point, more than half of the dozen or so people living in the villa had poked their heads out to listen to the commotion.
“Miss, may I ask your name?”
“My name is Riley Freeman.” The woman looked smug.
Freya nodded. “Riley, what does your family do?”
“My family owns the Freeman Group in Capitael. Surely you’ve heard of it?” Riley looked as proud as a peacock.
Freya thought for a moment and smiled. “I know, the Freeman Group that mainly deals in real estate, right? Ruby Garden was developed by your family.”
“Yes,” Riley replied crisply.
“Miss Freeman, take a look at our society. There are so many beggars and homeless people. wandering in Capitael. They all have no houses to live in, and the pressure to pay rent every month is also great. Since your family has developed so many houses, why not help those people out and give away a hundred houses? What do you think?” Freya said with a faint.
Riley’s eyes widened instantly. “Do you think my family is crazy?”
“That’s the point. Do you think I’m crazy? No matter how glib of a tongue you have, stop trying to guilt trip me into giving you food. Don’t you think you’re disgracing the Freeman Family?” Freya asked sincerely, tilting her head. “This is being broadcast live on the internet. and the whole world will know that you, Miss Freeman, are lazy and trying to take advantag of others.”
“Who are you talking about? It’s just a hot pot meal! Nobody’s taking advantage of you! We’r all participating in the competition together. Isn’t it normal to help each other?”
“Then isn’t it normal for you to do some charity and give away some houses?” Brisa mocked from the side. “We don’t even know you that well. Why are you trying to act all friendly?”
Riley was so livid her face turned purple.
Finally, she gritted her teeth. “The kitchen utensils are for everyone to use! How can others. cook if you occupy them?”
Freya raised her eyebrows. “What do you want to cook? Bring the ingredients over and let me see,”
Riley clenched her fists. The fifty coins she had borrowed were long gone, spent on snacks.
She didn’t even have a packet of instant noodles left!
“You’ve made the whole villa smell like hot pot,” the woman next to Riley chimed in.
Freya sneered. The villa’s living room was large, she had opened the windows for ventilation, and there was an exhaust hood above the hot pot.
The rooms were all in the corridor, so it was impossible to smell anything. It was not as exaggerated as the woman claimed.
“Why, did you smell the food and feel hungry?” Freya laughed. “Isn’t that great? You can eat instant noodles while smelling the aroma of hot pot. I won’t charge you for that.”
Dumbfounded, Riley and the other woman stared at Freya.
“Do you have no shame saying that?”
“I’ll say it again. If the Freeman Group is willing to donate a hundred houses, I don’t mind. letting you shamelessly take advantage of my hard work.” Freya raised her hand. “My assistant has a bad temper. If you continue to stay here, it might not be safe for you.”
Brisa sneered, and with a flick of her hand, the small knife hit a tapestry hanging on the wall not far away.
It hit right in the center of the geometric pattern on the tapestry!
“Violence! This is pure violence!” Shocked, Riley fled with the other woman.
