Chapter 781 Something Happened

So, something had happened to Calvin.This was not good.It's like he vanished off the face of the earth,

Melissa thought.

Fortunately, there was nothing wrong with the company while Calvin was missing; otherwise, Melissa

didn’t know how many things would've been messed up.

After not hearing from Calvin for another 48 hours, Melissa decided to take Shayna with her as she

went to Calvin's house..

"Is there something going on with him?" Shayna asked on the way, and even Shayna realized

something was wrong.

"Calvin stopped sending me update reports for over two days now while I was away.At first, I thought

he was too busy, but seeing that he has been missing for over 48 hours, I think something may have

happened to him."

Melissa gritted her teeth, hoping that Calvin was okay.He was the director of the company.

If something happened to him, then the company would have problems too.

Soon, they arrived at Calvin's house.

The two hurried to open the gate and walked up the driveway, to the front door where Melissa began

ringing the doorbell.

No one came to open the door and Melissa continued ringing the doorbell.

Shayna’s eyes began to water as she said in a panic, "Oh my goodness.Do you think think something

really did happen to him?"

"We don't know that yet.Just stay calm,"

"Melissa reassured Shayna as she looked around for a spare key.She found it under the welcome mat

and hurriedly opened the door.

As soon as they entered the house, , they were met by a strong scent of liquor.

Their noses wrinkled at the offensive smell.The house floor was littered with wine bottles.

The two carefully stepped over bottles as they searched every corner of the house, but they still

couldn't find Calvin.

"Looks like he’s not at home either..." Melissa frowned.

In desperation, they returned to the company.

As soon as the two of them arrived at the company, several employees rushed them in a panic.

"What happened?" Melissa asked.

Intuition was telling Melissa that something very wrong had happened with the company.

"Something happened to Supervisor Mr.Burton!" her employee said.

"Where is he?"

Shayna and Melissa asked almost at the same time.

The employee handed Melissa a phone with Twitter pulled up.

The tweet read: "Star Entertainment Director Calvin Suspected of Drug Use".

"How is this possible? This can't be true."

Shayna growled through gritted teeth.

"I just saw him a few days ago! How could someone with so much integrity take drugs?"

Several employees also expressed their disbelief, but Melissa remained silent.

"Don't panic." She said in an attempt to calm them down.

No one wanted to believe that Calvin was taking drugs.

Melissa had to figure out what was going on.

Melissa returned to the office, opened Twitter, and began to scrutinize the tweet.She clicked the link

and went to a news article.

Last night, police arrested a group of drug traffickers at the local Marriott..Among the items seized, a

clientele list was found.

On this list was Star Entertainment director Calvin.

Police are actively locating and arresting those on the list.

The investigation is ongoing.

Melissa's stomach dropped as she read the article.

Shayna also read the article and hurried into Melissa's office.

"Did you read this?How could Calvin be a drug user?" Shayna asked in disbelief , and Melissa shook

her head.

"His name on a supposed client list is not concrete evidence.I firmly believe that Calvin is not a dug

addict," Melissa said.

“I know Calvin.He would have never taken drugs,"

Shayna, who normally was shy and introverted, loudly proclaimed that the police had it wrong.

Calvin was not a drug addict.

"Calm down.We don’t know that for sure, but that is what I want to believe too."

After that, Melissa tried calling Calvin a few more times, but it was the same result.

His phone was not in service which increased Melissa’s anxiety.

They needed to find Calvin immediately and get a handle on the press before the company’s reputation

was fatally damaged.

"I will have someone watch Calvin's house..If there is any news about him or anything changes, , I will

notify you immediately," Melissa said and Shayna nodded since waiting was the only thing she could do

right now.

"I will post an official blog to respond to this matter.The news article mentions the company's name.We

have to move fast to salvage the company’s reputation."

Shayna nodded and returned to her desk.

Because of the situation, Melissa could not work at all. She couldn't focus and worried about Calvin all

day.

When Melissa was finally calming down, she received another notification on her phone.

She unlocked her phone to see a news update: "Calvin Burton's Drug Addiction".

Melissa stared in horror and said, "What is this now?"

She clicked on the tweet that a whistleblower had posted that had a video of Calvin taking drugs.

Melissa watched the video.

The environment was dimly lit and the man in the footage did look like Calvin! The man had a small

pipe in his hand, he lit it and took a pull from it.

The man blew out the smoke.

The video ended after that.

Melissa covered her hand in disbelief.

Who would have found such a video? If this was Calvin, he wouldn't have allowed someone to film him

like this.

Melissa clicked on the Twitter profile of the person that posted the video.

The woman did not do her due diligence in protecting her identity or even the reputation of the

company she worked for.

Melissa quickly found the location of the poster's company.

She immediately arranged for a vehicle and rushed to the company with a few security guards.

Fortunately, Melissa knew the owner of this company.She was able to ask about the whistleblower and

was provided information on the type of employee she was.

The whistleblower was a lackluster employee.

She was the type to eat the majority of the food at a potluck, but never contributed anything but the

bare minimum.

And sometimes this employee didn’t even do that.

Melissa walked up to the front desk and smiled at the woman before saying, "Hello Get2Truth256."

The woman gaped at Melissa dumbfounded that someone tracked er down.

"You are......"

"I'm Melissa."

The woman attempted to flee but one of Melissa’s security guards caught her and brought her right

back.

"What are you going to do with me?"
