Chapter 884 I believe her

On impact, Sylvia screamed and rolled down the stairs. Eventually, she fell onto the marble floor and lost consciousness on the spot.

"Sylvia!" Carlee called, her eyes widening in panic as she saw Sylvia lying motionless on the floor.

The chaos came to an abrupt end. Mrs. Barns and Mrs. Otis, who was cleaning downstairs, were also stunned, and hurriedly stepped forward to check on Sylvia's situation.

True Paul's cry became louder and louder, and Nina still tried to keep her calm. She was too stunned to speak and turned to Carlee with pleading only to be met by a slap from the elder lady

"You wretched fool! You pushed Sylvia down the stairs! You better die now or else I won't spare you if something happens to Sylvia!"

The slap was firm, and Nina could feel flesh between her teeth. She was yet to recover from the shock that she may have accidentally killed Sophia, but now she had been assaulted by Carlee. She didn't even have a chance to fight back but stared confused at Carlee dashing down the stairs, holding Sylvia's head and crying.

Mrs. Barns knew that the situation was not good, turned and ran to the sofa to get the mobile phone to make an emergency call.

Mrs. Otis also called out to Sylvia, while Carlee performed first aid resuscitating measures on Sylvia. Fortunately, after some seconds, Sylvia's eyes fluttered open and her once still hands moved to her head.

Seeing that Carlee was in great worry, Sylvia smiled weakly and tried to comfort her.

"Mrs. Carlee, I'm fine. I'm just experiencing a little headache," Sylvia spoke, making Carlee let out a sigh.

But more than ever, Carlee Timothy was even more worried about the child in her belly.

"Sylvia, we'll help you sit on the sofa, the ambulance will be here soon, just hold on!" Carlee assured Sylvia as she carried her to the cushion with the help of Mrs Otis. The way Carlee pampered Sylvia was enough to make Harley jealous.

"My stomach hurts so much,” Sylvia cried out, leaving Carlee scared as she thought she was about to lose her grandson.

An ambulance came thereafter and medical workers carried Sylvia to the vehicle, followed behind by a distraught Carlee. About an hour later, when Sylvia was pushed out of the operating room by a nurse, Carlee was in tears.

"Sorry Mrs. Carlee...” Sylvia said weakly. Her arm was covered with gauze and her face was pale.

Carlee understood what she meant, and hurriedly raised her head to ask the nurse, "How is my daughter-in-law? Is the child in her womb okay?"

The nurse showed a regretful expression, shook her head and sighed, "Sorry ma'am, the patient fell from a height and was seriously injured, and the child has already miscarried.”

"My grandson is gone?" Carlee asked, tears pouring from her eyes.

Sylvia's eyes grew wet with tears as well and she began apologizing, “It's all my fault, Mrs. Carlee, I didn't protect the child well. I'm sorry for causing you this loss, you can scold me if you want to.”

Listening to Sylvia's constant confession, Carlee recovered from her grief.

“No! It's not your fault!" Carlee said, patting Sylvia's hand. “The child is gone, there's nothing we can do about it. Please take good care of yourself first, I will come to the hospital to see you later!"

With that being said, Carlee turned around and left. She rushed home, wishing she could go to the kitchen to get a kitchen knife and chop up Nina. However, when she entered the living room, she found only Mrs. Barns and Mrs. Otis whispering amongst themselves.

"What about Nina?" Carlee asked, frowning.

"Mrs. Carlee, Mrs. Timothy walked out with the baby.” Mrs. Otis replied. She saw Carlee sweating profusely, and passed a tissue to her.

She expected a "thank you” but Carlee slapped Mrs. Otis on both cheeks simultaneously.

"Is there something wrong with your brain? Who asked you to call Nina Mrs. Timothy?” Carlee slapped her again. “Didn't you say you're resigning next week? Get out of here now!"

While speaking, Carlee took out her wallet, roughly counted the money, and threw it in Mrs. Otis's face. "This is your half-month salary, pack up and leave immediately!"

After the servant was driven away, Carlee started calling Harley and telling him to go home immediately.

At the time he received his mother's call Harley was on his way home from looking at a house in a quiet neighbourhood. He fell in love with a small-sized duplex villa, which was just suitable for a family of three. Although the rent was not so cheap, Harley had just sold his just completed script to a certain film and television company with the help of Jasmine.

With new income on hand, Harley rented it without thinking about anything but creating a good living environment for Nina and his daughter. After paying the money, he couldn't wait to rush home and

wanted to tell Nina the good news.

Hearing something was wrong with his mother’s voice, Harley was afraid that Nina or the child was hurt and sped back home.

"Mom! What happened?" He asked, panting as he found the aura at home very strange.

Harley frowned, watching his mother sitting on the sofa without speaking, and ran straight to the second floor. There was also dead silence upstairs. He hurried into the bedroom and found a letter left on the table.

Through the handwriting, Harley recognized that it was the handwriting of Nina, and after opening it and reading it, she learned that she had taken the child back to her parent's home.

"Nina..." Harley whispered, heartbroken.

After collecting the letter and returning to the living room, Harley thought that it was his mother who had driven away Nina, and asked angrily: "Mom, did you quarrel with Nina again? You also drove her and my daughter away!"

Carlee smiled sarcastically and glanced coldly at Harley. "When did I drive her away?"

"Okay, I rushed to conclusions, I'm sorry," Harley replied, not in the mood to argue with his mother. "What happened? Did you push her away?"

Seeing that Harley was repeatedly pushing the blame on her, Carlee jumped to her feet.

"You want to know the truth? Why don't you just call and ask Nina what she did that made her flee!” Carlee blurted out. She then began to narrate how Nina poisoned Sylvia's meal with laxatives and also how Nina had "purposely" pushed Sylvia down the stairs. When Carlee was done, she looked up and

saw that Harley's face was covered in disbelief. "Now that Sylvia has a miscarriage and I can't see my grandson, you and Nina must be very happy, right?" Harley was stunned, to say the least. Even though he didn't care about the baby in Sylvia's womb, he did not for once wish for her miscarriage. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Impossible! Nina couldn't have pushed Sylvia down! I trust her!" Harley said, deciding to trust the love of his life over his mother.
