Mommy, Please Marry My Daddy (Kamryn)

Mommy 292

Unrightful bond? How did he come up with such a phrase?”

Thinking about that, Kamryn twitched her lips and said grumpily. “Unrightful bond?”

It was obviously a magical event!

The neighborhood where they now lived was tightly controlled. Not only was it beautiful and quiet, but there were security guards on patrol 24 hours a day.

Logically speaking, it was impossible for stray cats and dogs to appear in their neighborhood.

In the afternoon, with no drowsiness and a cheerfulness that was rare these days, Kamryn couldn’t help but go for a walk.

Charlie didn’t let her go out by herself, for fear of any accidents. She also didn’t want to go too far, so she decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood and return.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she went downstairs, she found a cardboard box incongruous with the surroundings in the bushes by the road. She walked over curiously and saw a puppy lying in the box.

She felt that it was quite strange and thought. This is a heavily guarded, gated community. Who would leave a puppy here! The security guards on patrol will definitely take it away!!

So she ignored the puppy and continued to walk along the gravel path.

The community covered a large area, and there were a lot of plants. She kept walking and didn’t bother to watch the road. Without realizing it, she had gone a long way.

It was getting dark and drizzling. Just as she was about to go home, she thought of the little puppy. For some reason, she went back to the bushes again, only to find the box remaining where it was with the puppy in it.

She thought. The guards didn’t see it? This is impossible! The box is left uncovered on the edge of the bushes, and its color is very noticeable. As long as the guards walked by, they could see it at a glance. The puppy is whining, probably because it hasn’t eaten anything. Even if the guards ignored the eye–catching box, they should have heard the puppy. Why is it still here?”

Confused, she couldn’t help squatting down beside the cardboard box and looking at the little thing curiously.

The little dog was trapped inside the box because it was too small to reach the top. It tried to escape when it saw her, but its paws only scratched the box. Without help, it would likely starve to death.

Its bright eyes aroused her pity. She brought it to the stairwell and gave it some food while seeking refuge from the rain. The stairs and the elevator were located in different areas of the building, with the former in the east and the latter in the northwest. Since they were far apart, she didn’t notice when Charlie came in through the elevator after work.

She enjoyed feeding the puppy much.

The little dog was very gentle and not scared of her. When she gave it food, it licked her fingertips with its soft, small tongue, as if it were flattering her or showing gratitude.

She looked closer and saw that some of his teeth were not grown.

She felt more compassion for him.

She decided to call the property managers and have them take the dog after she finished feeding it. Finding a responsible owner for it to prevent it from wandering would be best.

She didn’t dare to think about taking it home and raising it.

After all, her husband had a very serious fear of germs. She was afraid that the minute she brought it home, he would ask

someone to throw it out.

Perhaps even she herself would be in trouble and be severely “punished” in bed.

She was about to call the property managers when she realized she left her phone behind. It was pouring outside, and she was

soaked from running into the stairwell with the cardboard box. The property management office was too far to walk to, and she didn’t want to get even more drenched in the rain.

She was expecting a baby, and the doctor had warned her several times to avoid catching a cold. Otherwise, it could be troublesome to take medication, and it could even harm the baby’s growth.

She didn’t dare to take this risk, so she planned to go upstairs to get her mobile phone first and then call the property managers.

However, as soon as she turned around, the puppy, which seemed to know that it had been abandoned again, cried out suddenly, with tears filling its black eyes, and looked so pitiful.

It reminded her of the time when she was thrown out of the Ramsey family, lost and homeless with nobody to care for her, just like the puppy.

Her heart started to ache.

Determined to keep it no matter what, she steeled herself and brought it back.

She regained her senses, put on a brave expression, and declared, “I’m going to keep it no matter what. We share a special bond, and it looks so pitiful. If I abandon it, it might die. Would you have the heart to watch such a cute little life vanish?”

Charlie said without blinking, “Actually, I would,”

Kamryn was speechless and pissed.

She glared at him, snorted, and puffed out her chest, thinking the look in her eyes was enough to show her determination to keep the puppy.

He was amused by her and gave a faint smile. He asked slowly, “You really like this dirty dog so much?”

She gave him an angry look and retorted, “It’s not dirty. It just hasn’t had a shower yet. It will be white and clean and even cleaner than you after taking a shower, I promise!”

“Really?”

He raised his eyebrows with a faint smile, stared at the puppy, which obviously had curly brown hair, and said slowly, “I really want to see how you can make its brown hair white.”

She looked down and was instantly dumbfounded!

She didn’t notice that the dog had brown hair that wouldn’t turn white no matter how much she washed it.

The shower was different from dog grooming where dyeing its hair might be involved.

But then she realized that Charlie was being too nitpicky about her words. She had said “white” to reassure him that the dog. would be very clean, but he took it too literally and playfully teased her about it.

It was really too much!

She puffed up her cheeks and lowered her head again. Looking at the poor dog, she felt her heart ache. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

She wasn’t kind enough to pick up any stray dogs she saw, but when she saw the weak, helpless puppy, she couldn’t help thinking about herself

When she was kicked out of the Ramsey family while pregnant with Eugene, she hoped someone kind–hearted would help

her.

It didn’t have to be financial aid. Any comforting words would have provided great warmth to her.
