Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 232

Everett wrapped his arm around Selena's shoulders and whispered, "I'll stick around for Josh today. Derick can give you a ride home."

Without missing a beat, Selena shook her head. "I'm not tired. I'm staying with you."

She couldn't bring herself to leave him alone right now.

Everett frowned, not wanting her to stay up with him, and was about to say something when Josh suddenly piped up, "No need for anyone to hang around. If you're so keen on showing some family spirit, try giving me a great-grandchild before I kick the bucket. That might just keep me ticking a bit longer, better than you all hovering around here!"

"Go on, all of you!"

"Grandpa..."

Selena wanted to say something to calm him down, but Everett gently took her hand and started leading her out.

"What are you doing?" she asked, a bit confused.

With a lazy grin, he glanced at her with those dark eyes. "Didn't you hear Grandpa? We're off to start a family." Selena was at a loss for words.

Later that night.

When Selena emerged from the shower, she found Everett already washed up and lounging in bed, dressed in silk pajamas that matched hers. He was leaning against the headboard, engrossed in his laptop.

He was wearing thin gold-rimmed glasses, and his hair fell softly around his face, giving off a warm, family-man vibe.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

As Selena sat at the vanity, tending to her skincare routine, she found herself sneaking glances at him through the mirror.

She was a sucker for a handsome face, and Everett just had that knack for hitting all her aesthetic buttons. It was easy to get lost in admiring him.

Suddenly, he looked up and caught her watching.

Selena's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly averted her eyes, pretending to be busy with her lotions and potions.

From behind her, he chuckled softly, closed his laptop, and set it aside. Removing his glasses, he placed them on the nightstand.

He got up and slowly approached her.

Selena gasped as he lifted her by the waist and perched her on the vanity, positioning himself between her legs.

He gazed down at her, playing with a strand of her hair that fell across her chest, gently tracing her collarbone and sending shivers down her spine.

"Mrs. Bennett, were you checking me out?" he teased, his voice deep and alluring, perfectly suited to the night.

No way was Selena going to admit that. She shook her head. "I wasn't."

Ignoring her denial, Everett pressed on with a teasing grin, "Why were you watching me? Do you have a thing for me?" "Hmm?"

Selena stayed silent, but a blush crept up her cheeks.

Seeing her reaction, a subtle smile tugged at his lips. He leaned in

The air was thick with tension, and Selena's face was burning. She finally caved and pushed against his chest. "Stop..."

"Your actions say otherwise," Everett laughed softly, kissing her nose, now pink with embarrassment, before capturing her lips again. He pressed her hands against the mirrorplacing their fingers together.

His kisses that night were especially tender and lingering.

He wrapped her up in a mix of deep and gentle kisses, the quiet room filled with the soft sounds of their breathing and kissing.

Selena's body gradually melted, her eyes turning dreamy. Her senses slipped away, until he murmured huskily in her ear. "Selena, let's have a proper wedding."
