Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Chapter 27 A sense of indignance filled Yvie’s heart when she heard the discussion going on among the employees in the design department. These evil people did not know what a nice person Jocelyn was. Jocelyn picked up her phone in the stairway. She spoke to Michael expressionlessly, “Hello, is there anything that you need?” Michael huffed coldly. “What’s wrong? Are you not even going to bother calling me your father now?”
Chills erupted in Jocelyn’s heart when she heard his voice. She replied in a sarcastic tone, “Are there fathers that drug their own daughter and try to gift them to other people?” Michael choked when he recalled everything that had happened last night. There was an uneasy expression on his face as he asked, “Jocelyn, what’s the relationship between you and Skyler Moore?”
“Does this have anything to do with you?” Jocelyn asked in a harsh tone. “Are you not afraid that I’d touch your uncle’s company?” Michael’s voice was laced with a sense of threat.
Jocelyn scoffed and said, “If you think that you can win over Skyler Moore, be my guest!” Michael remained silent for a few seconds before speaking. “It seems like Skyler was telling the truth last night. Did both of you get married?” Jocelyn remained silent with a heavy expression on her face. Michael did not continue pestering her about it either. “Alright, let’s not talk about other things. You should withdraw the charges that you’ve filed against Lily now!” Michael spoke to her in a confident tone. It was as if he was sure that Jocelyn would definitely withdraw the charges that she had filed against Lily.
Jocelyn felt beyond repulsed. “Why should I withdraw the charges? She plagiarized my work. Shouldn’t she be punished for what she’s done?”
Michael remained nonchalant as he said, “Do you think that the netizens would think so? Do you think that Skyler Moore will help you? No matter how powerful he is, he can’t change the minds of so many people, right?”
Jocelyn was so disgusted by his words that her lips started trembling. She clenched her fingers around her phone tightly. Michael added, “Don’t expect Skyler Moore to help you. Let me tell you what’s going to happen. You forced Lily to attempt suicide. Even if you win the lawsuit against her, you won’t gain anything. At most, everyone will think that you’re cold and ruthless. Besides, if you don’t withdraw your charges, I’ll release the news about your marriage with Skyler Moore as soon as you win the lawsuit! What will everyone think about you? They’ll only think that you’re abusing your power to bully Lily!”
Jocelyn was so angry that she felt her innards hurting. “Aren’t you afraid that I’d post everything that you said online?”
Michael did not seem to care. “Post it. What can you show by doing that? I’m just trying to persuade you to withdraw the charges against Lily. As a father, I’m just trying to help you and your sister make amends with each other. Do you think the netizens will take your side?
“Also, don’t think that you’re the only one that knows how to take audio recordings! I know how to do that too. I can prove that you’ve married Skyler Moore through this conversation alone. If you don’t want to lose your reputation, you’d better think this through!” Not only did Michael disregard her relationship with Skyler, but he even used it to threaten Jocelyn in return.
Jocelyn did not expect Michael to be completely on Lily’s side. She hung up on the call with a heavy expression on her face.
It was not forbidden for her marriage with Skyler to be revealed to the public, but it cannot be done so right now!
Lily White had just attempted to commit suicide. She had just won over everyone’s sympathy. If the news of her marriage broke out, everyone would think that she was abusing her power to make things hard for Lily!
At the same time, something happened in the hospital. Lily received a call from Howard.
“Lily White, you b*tch! How dare you blame everything on me?!”
Lily rolled her eyes and looked at her freshly manicured nails as she said, “Your reputation is completely ruined now. It won’t affect you much if I blame it all on you, right? Besides, aren’t we husband and wife? Can’t you share some of my burden?”
“Let’s get a divorce. I want to get a divorce right now. You’re a toxic b*tch!” “Hah!” Lily scoffed and said, “If I’m a toxic b*tch, what are you? You tried to ditch me as soon as something happened. Since you were so cruel toward me, I had no choice but to take drastic measures. Otherwise, how can I be a match for you?’
Howard was outraged. “Lily White, just wait. I won’t let you have a good ending. Don’t you like acting like a pure and innocent young girl? I’ll show everyone your true face!”
Lily’s heart lurched. She had been together with Howard for two years. He must have something on her.
If Howard attacked her online in return, would her entire plan not go to waste? Her gaze flashed as she sniffled in an upset manner. Her attitude instantly changed completely. “Howard, I have no other choice. Jocelyn has married Skyler Moore. It’s easy for her to destroy me with Skyler’s power. I didn’t want to blame everything on you, but she still insists on suing me. I’ve been forced to the brink of desperation. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have tried to commit suicide!”
Lily’s voice grew whiny as she spoke.
Howard froze in shock “What did you say? Jocelyn and Skyler Moore are married? What nonsense are you spouting?!” Jealousy flashed across Jocelyn’s gaze as she said, “If that weren’t the case, did you think that I’d try to commit suicide that easily?”
Howard was stunned. His expression changed as he hung up on the call at once. He then dialed Jocelyn’s number.

The design department of Prosperity Jewelry.
Jocelyn hung up on Michael’s call in disgust. As soon as she walked into the design department, she heard Yvie arguing with the other employees in the department from a distance away.
“What gives all of you the right to talk about Miss White that way? She’s not the kind of person that you’re making her out to be!” Yvie’s face was flushed with rage.
Fiona scoffed and said, “If she isn’t that kind of person, would she have been able to force her own sister to the point of desperation that she attempted to commit suicide? How long have you known her? Why are you taking her side?” After speaking, she added in a meaningful tone, “Besides, even if you’re trying to butter up someone, you need to do it to the right person!”
