70• His Possessiveness
Reyna shouted, taking off Cole’s helmet. “Why did you-” Her eyes dilated in horror and she stumbled as she saw Cole’s face; it was all wounded. He stared at her with a guilty expression on his face; he felt terrible about lying to his kiddo, but he had no choice.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
“How…” As she saw her lover’s deep wounds, lumps formed in her throat and fresh tears trickled down her cheeks mechanically. Her heart was breaking seeing him in this state because she couldn’t bear her love in pain.
“Kiddo, I’m fine.” He placed his hands on her face and gently rubbed off her tears with his thumbs, and as she closed her eyes, fresh tears trickled down her cheeks. Her tears were his greatest weakness.
“How did this happen, Cole?” She hiccuped and continued, sobbing. “And why didn’t you tell me?”
She was feeling unbearable pain in her chest, seeing him in pain. His wounds were hurting her more than him.
“This was the only reason I lied to you.” He told her, taking a drop of her tear on his index finger. “I knew that you would fill the buckets with your tears after seeing me like that. That’s why Ethan and I devised a plan to hide this from you. He told me how much you cried when he met with an accident a few years ago.”
“But how did this happen, Cole?” She cried, staring at his wounds with immense pain in her eyes, as if the wounds were on her face, not his. Whenever he used to witness her immense love for him, he always wondered how he had got so lucky that God blessed him with an Angel.
“I’ll tell you everything. First just please stop crying, Kiddo. You know when you cry, my heart cries with you.” He pleaded, wiping her tears.
She sniffed and wiped her nose. “How can I stop crying after seeing this? It must be hurting you so much.” She gently stroked one of the wounds on his cheek, gazing at him concernedly.
“Seeing you in tears hurts me more than these wounds,” he admitted, caressing her cheeks before gently wiping away her tears.
“I’m truly sorry. I just cannot see you in pain.” She uttered, gazing at him with teary eyes as she moved closer to his face and placed her rose-petal-like lips on the wound on his cheeks. He closed his eyes and smiled contentedly as he felt her soft lips on his skin, but he moved away from her as her tears fell on his cheeks.
“Love, I’ll be fine. Please just don’t hurt me more by crying. For my sake, please just stop crying or else you’ll fall ill.” He begged her, holding her hand.
She meekly nodded at him. “Okay, I’ll try not to cry for you.” She agreed, wiping off her tears with the long sleeves of her top, and he sighed with relief. She could do anything for him.
“That’s like my good girl.” He slightly pulled her cheek, smiling at her.
“Anyway, where were you going in this condition?” She asked, frowning.
“I decided not to meet you, but how can I stay without seeing you for so many days? That’s why I was coming to see you.” He told her, smiling.
“That’s so unfair. Thank God, I understood that Ethan was lying to me. I’ll take his class after reaching home. How could he lie to me?” First, she talked to herself angrily, and then she told him in a stern tone, pointing her finger at him. “And don’t think that I have forgiven you for concealing the truth from me. I’ll surely punish you.”
“Okay, Madam, whatever you want to do, you can do. First, let’s just go inside. I’m injured, I have to take a rest.” He acted dramatically, touching his wounds, but she took him seriously.
“I’m so sorry. Let’s go inside.” She apologised, gently caressing the wounds on his cheeks.
He got off the bike, and she looked at him with deep concern in her eyes. He just incredulously stared at her, wondering, ‘How could I be so lucky to have such a caring life partner in my life?’
“Hey, Love, I’m fine. Don’t worry.” He reassured her, placing his hand on her face.
She gave him a slight nod, and he kissed her forehead. Then they walked into his mansion hand in hand.
“Mary,” Cole called the domestic helper of his house as they both comfortably settled down in the hall.
Mary reached there within a few seconds. “Yes, sir.”
“Bring a glass of water.” He ordered her, and she left, nodding meekly.
“Now, Cole, could you please tell me how this happened?” Her concerned-filled eyes were fixed on his wounds as she inquired.
Mary came back with a glass of water and gave it to Cole. “Have this first.” He spoke, holding out the glass to her. She grabbed the glass and took a few sips of water before placing the glass on the table.
“Anything else, Sir?” As Mary asked, he questioned Reyna.
“Did you have breakfast, Kiddo?”
“No,” Reyna answered him, and he moved his eyes to Mary.
“Prepare breakfast.” As he commanded Mary, she left after nodding.
“Now please tell me.” She implored, softly brushing the wound under his eyes with her thumb.
He sighed deeply before starting to tell her. “When yesterday I dropped you at home, I received a text from one of the bikers who was in the last night’s race.” His brows knitted in fury, recalling the message and his eyes got blood red in anger.
“What was the text, Cole?” She asked, slightly squeezing his hand.
“That rascal asked me to give you to him for a night. How could he just even think of having my girl?” He roared, clenching his hands in rage.
“Relax, Cole. We cannot change the dirty minds of others. Why are you spoiling your mood because of that fucking bastard?” She tried to relax him, rubbing his shoulders.
Someone had cast his lustful gaze on his kiddo, so how could he relax? He would be at ease when he ripped his soul from his body.
“I then went to teach him a lesson for casting his lustful eyes on you. I started thrashing him as soon as I got there, but his scoundrel friends attacked me from behind. Bloody coward!” He told her everything, his blood boiling with rage.
“Cole, what was the point of going there?” You should have ignored it. We’re not the ones to teach him a lesson. God is there.” She chided him and tried to explain to him that what he did was wrong.
He shook his head in disbelief after listening to her words. “Are you serious, Reyna? He laid his lascivious gaze at you, and you’re saying I should have done nothing. Wow! You’re so great.” He clapped for her and chuckled sarcastically.
“Cole, if you hadn’t gone to beat him, then I wouldn’t have to see you in this condition. Why do you never understand me that we shouldn’t avenge someone because karma is a bitch-”
“Fuck your Karma!” He stood up, smashed the glass of water on the floor and yelled, making her flinch in her place. He bent down close to her face and seized both of her arms. “I don’t believe in karma, I believe in teaching everyone a lesson of their evil deeds, and if someone in future lay his evil eyes on you, Reyna, I’ll take out his eyes with my hands.” He asserted with pure rage in his eyes and stormed to his room.
Reyna remained seated on the sofa, staring unblinkingly at the shattered glass in utter shock because she had seen him so angry for the first time, and she wasn’t used to such kinds of harsh behaviour. She was taken aback to witness his possessiveness towards her.
