Calvin acted on his plan right away. He took out his phone and called Miranda. ” Miranda, how are you? I have something to tell you…”
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line after Calvin extended the
invitation.
He could tell why Miranda was hesitant. He patted his chest and promised, “Don’t worry, Miranda. I’m treating you to a meal this time. It’ll be just us friends having a meal together. Hans won’t be there.”
“Alright.” Miranda finally agreed.
After Calvin hung up, he shrugged. Despite his words, he couldn’t help it if a coincidence” occurred that day.
Sam offered to help. “I’ll inform Hans about it, then.”
“Okay! It’s settled, then!”
Calvin was excited for the day to come. He’d be the biggest benefactor if those two managed to reconcile during the gathering.
It was a clear, sunny day.
Calvin had made a reservation at The Garden. In the past, their group had frequented the place often for meals. Calvin just had to mention the name, and Miranda knew where it was.
As soon as Miranda walked in through the door, Calvin grinned and started waving his hands wildly at her, even though she hadn’t even looked in his direction yet.
A waiter showed Miranda to the table. She put her bag down and sat opposite Calvin..
“Miranda, I’ve heard that you’re done with the admissions exam. Congratulations! I’ve ordered a few dishes, and they’re all your favorites. We should also have a drink to celebrate!”
Calvin’s family might not be as wealthy and successful as his friends‘ families, but he had the best personality and temperament among the group.
He’d also helped Miranda several times before. That was how the two of them had
formed this friendship.
Thank you I appreciate everything you’ve done to help me all this time.”
Colvin chuckled. “Are you trying to keep your distance from me now because it’s been a long time since we’ve met? There’s no need for you to thank me like that.”
He snapped his fingers. Simultaneously, the waiters carried the dishes and served them to the table.
“Cal? What a coincidence!” A deep voice rang above their heads just then. Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Calvin raised his head. However, his smile froze the next instant. He looked past Sam and saw no one else behind him.
He couldn’t fathom why Sam was here instead of Hansel. What about his plan to make Miranda and Hansel meet “coincidentally“?
“Hi! What a small world!” Calvin came to his senses and tried to greet Sam with a
smile.
Sam asked, “Do you mind if I join you guys?”
Calvin had a look of bewilderment on his face. Still, he replied, “Sure. We don’t mind.”
Sam had already taken a seat before Calvin could give an answer. He took a furtive glance at Miranda. “What’s the occasion today?”
Calvin forced a smile. “I’ve invited Miranda here to celebrate her…
He was sending an entirely different signal to Sam through the look in his eyes, as though asking, “Where’s Hans? Didn’t you say you’d inform him?”
Sam smiled softly and ignored Calvin’s signals. He raised his brows and looked at Miranda naturally. “Oh? What are you guys celebrating?”
He was clearly directing the question to her. Even though they weren’t familiar with each other, it would be impolite if Miranda kept silent. So, she answered, “I just finished an exam.
Sam paused thoughtfully and said, “Judging by the time… Is it the postgraduate admission exam?”
Calvin was struck speechless by how good Sam was at pretending he had no ideal
about all of this.

Miranda gave a slight nod
“Which college are you applying for?
“Bedford College.
“What major are you going for?”
“Bioinformatics.”
Sam asked, “You mean the interdisciplinary study that involves biology. mathematics, and information science?”
Miranda met his gaze. She had a curious look in her eyes. “You’re familiar with it?”
“I took the subject as an elective in the past, but I wasn’t good at it. I’ve always wanted to know what the differences are between applied biological sciences, bioinformatics, and biology.”
Miranda explained, “Applied biological sciences explores the practical application of biomolecules in anthropology, chemistry, biology, and physics.
“Biology is one of the branches of natural science. Generally, it’s the study of living beings‘ functions and characteristics.
“As for bioinformatics, it’s a study that involves using computers as research tools to collect and analyze biological data. Oh! The way I’ve explained it is a little too hard to follow, isn’t it?”
