Chapter 483
Chapter 483 Dilemma
Harper pressed her lips, replaying Annie's words in her mind. "If the cops couldn't crack this after days of investigation, why did I stumble upon it? Was it just dumb luck? Or was I blessed with some kind of cosmic favor?"
The more Harper thought, the more uneasy she felt. After all, she had only begun tracking and made such significant progress. It was almost unbelievable.
She murmured, "Let's head back."
Continuing to tail them seemed unnecessary now.
Harper wasn't sure if Frank had already grown suspicious of her tracking.
She thought, "If he did drop a hint deliberately, what's his game plan? Does he want me to tell Benjamin?"
Harper found herself trapped in confusion, unable to find answers.
Back at the company, Harper went straight to her office. She felt a bit tired, her back aching, so she simply lay down on the sofa.
She called Sophia in and asked, "Did Mr. Parker call after we left?"
"No."
"What about his secretary?"
"No. He's been with us the whole time."
"Alright, get back to work. And remember, this stays with us," Harper instructed.
Sophia nodded.
In truth, she was pretty puzzled. "Are my two bosses going to split up? Either way, I'm sticking with Harper," she silently reassured herself.
Only Harper and Annie were in the office. Annie handed Harper a piece of fruit and casually asked, "What's your plan? Judging from today's situation, I'd say there's a ninety percent chance that Frank is involved. So, are you going to tell Benjamin?"
Harper didn't respond. She just
stared out of the window in silence,
lost in thought. "The result of informing Benjamin is obvious. Frank would undoubtedly shoulder all the blame. The repercussions would be grave if this escalates into deliberate sabotage, particularly in disrupting business.
But if I keep quiet, would Frank mend his ways? Who will make amends for the victims and the Martin Group's fallout?"
Harper sighed, "Do you think I should tell him? If you were in my shoes, what would you choose?"
"One's a friend, and the other's a husband. Honestly, I'm torn, too. But the current issue is, do you know why Frank would do something like this?" Harper fell silent. She thought, "How could I possibly know?"
She had entertained countless hypotheses, but each seemed improbable. Frank had no prior connection with the Martin family or
Benjamin before meeting her, so she ruled out any other conflicts
between them. After all, their initial encounter was solely because of her.
Harper sighed, feeling deeply despondent.
She asked Annie, "Should I drop some hints to Benjamin? Let him follow these clues and investigate on his own?"
Annie shook her head. "Take your
time to think it, over. If you give Benjamin a hint, do you honestly think he'll just let Frank slide? can you really ignore the whole-
thing? Knowing you, you'll and
a way to make Benjamin forgive
Frank, perhaps considering it a
lesson. But do you know the
out
consequences of doing so?"
Annie's meaning was clear.
If Harper did go through with it, considering her pregnancy, Benjamin would likely agree, but their relationship might change afterward.
After all, a man's bottom line on some things was unchangeable.
Harper sighed again. Not waiting for her to fully comprehend, Sophia came in holding a package resembling a document. "Ms. Mitchell, here is a package for you that requires your signature."© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
