I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 417

Chapter 417

In the end, the university students took out their food and ate their shares. Everyone was having a good time in the tent, but they kept their voices down.

At that time, almost no one remembered Simon standing guard outside for them.

It wasn't that they were ungrateful, but after such a tense situation, they just weren't thinking that thoroughly.

Simon lay down, not minding that the others had forgotten his presence. With his current cultivation level, he wouldn't bother himself with the concerns of those students.

However, at that moment, the thoughtful Mauve remembered Simon. In fact, she knew he had come specifically to save her. Still, she was afraid of him, but at the same time, she had a special feeling toward him.

Mauve was hanging out with several female classmates. She said, “The mister who helped us is still standing guard outside. Should we invite him into the tent?”

Her classmate, Julie, smirked. “Mauve, the way you keep calling him Mister reminds me of the scene in the novel, Return of Falcon Heroes, featuring Sandra and Yaro at Frangonie Wharf.”

Another classmate, Mackayla, chirped, “Indeed. This mister is truly fearsome. He's even more terrifying than The Falcon Hero in the novel. He took out more than a dozen fierce wolves effortlessly.”

Mauve felt a little embarrassed. “If it weren't for him, we would've been devoured by the wolves. It's not nice to leave him outside, no?”

Julie uttered solemnly, “You're right, but we don't have any spare tents. If we invite him in, the boys might feel uncomfortable. We don't have the authority to make decisions for them, and we can't possibly invite him into our tent, right?”

Mackayla agreed, “You have a point.”

Mauve was stumped.

Julie suggested, “Anyway, we should bring him some food.”

Mackayla said, “But he has a strange temperament. If we bring it to him, he might not want it.” She paused briefly before continuing, “Mauve, he seems to treat you differently. Maybe you should send the food to him. Perhaps he saved us today because you gave him the snacks at the tavern. Capable people like him often have peculiar personalities.”

“Let's go together,” Mauve uttered timidly.

Julie and Mackayla shook their heads in unison. They didn't dare to face Simon.

Mauve had no other choice but to go alone since she couldn't bear to ignore Simon further. She gritted her teeth, grabbed some food, and left the tent.

Mauve turned on the flashlight on her phone and cautiously made her way to the tree under which Simon was resting.

“Mister!” she called out. She was still wearing her sports attire, but her hair was loose, adding a touch

of allure to her innocent and lovely appearance.

Simon glanced at her indifferently. “What's the matter?”

Mauve was stunned. Simon's distant attitude rendered her unable to communicate further with him.

“I brought some food for you,” Mauve said while holding up some cookies in her hand.

“I don't need it,” he rejected her coldly.

Mauve felt a little hurt. She put away the cookie and said, “Okay.” She turned to leave, but ultimately, she still looked back and beamed at Simon. “Mister, thank you for your help today.”

Simon responded with a grunt and closed his eyes to rest.

Mauve spun on her heels and retraced her steps to the tent.

However, that night was far from peaceful. In the middle of the night, a scream sounded from the boys' tent, followed by someone yelling, “There's a snake! There's a snake! I got bitten by a snake!”

The serenity of the night was completely shattered as the tent was quickly dismantled.

Everyone, including the boys, the girls, and the professor, gathered around.

The bitten boy was named Zayne Rimmington, and the snake that bit him was a highly venomous black water snake.

The black water snake had already been killed by the crowd, but Zayne's leg, where he was bitten by the snake, was rapidly turning black.

His condition was extremely severe.

The group of university students did bring some medicine, some of which was antivenom, so they immediately sprayed the antidote on his leg. Still, his condition remained dire.

The students and professor felt helpless.

At that moment, the best solution would be to suck out the snake venom. However, no one was unselfish and brave enough to do so, fearing that they would die from ingesting the poisoned blood.

Everyone remained hesitant.

Seeing that no one was taking action, Mauve gritted her teeth and said, “I'll help him suck out the snake venom.” She was the gentlest person in the group, yet also the most courageous and kindest.

Julie grabbed Mauve and said, “Are you crazy? Even his best friends aren't doing it, yet you're volunteering to suck out the venom? What if something bad happens to you?”

Mauve replied, “But we can't just stand by and do nothing!”

She hurried forward.

Mauve was a foolish and stubborn girl.

She rolled up Zayne's trousers, ready to suck out the poisoned blood without complaining about it being unhygienic.

Everyone looked at the delicate Mauve with inexplicable shame.

Right then, Simon's voice rang out. “If you suck out his blood, the poison will cause your mouth to rot first. Then, you'll be tormented by the poison for one month before dying after every part of your body turns necrotic.”

He spoke in a harsh tone.

Mauve was stunned. She turned around and looked at Simon, completely trusting what he said.

No one doubted him either because he seemed wise.

Mauve immediately pleaded with Simon, “Mister, you must know how to save my classmate, right?”

“I do, but I don't want to.” With that, he turned around to leave.

She hastily ran after him, grasped his sleeve, and begged, “Mister, please save my classmate. Please?”

Simon didn't spare her a glance and merely replied impassively, “Let go of me.” She said stubbornly, “No.”

Simon was rendered speechless. He felt that he had somehow been taken advantage of by her. “How can I save him if you don't let me go?”

Hearing that, Mauve was overjoyed. “Thank you, Mister!”

Subsequently, Simon strode over to Zayne's side. He didn't use any special technique and instead just grabbed Zayne's legs with both hands and squeezed them together.

Zayne shrieked in agony, but the poisoned blood caused by the black water snake's venom was slowly dripping out.

“Cover his mouth, or else all kinds of poisonous bugs and snakes will be attracted here by his screams,” Simon said indifferently.

The group of students quickly did as he said.

Five minutes later, Zayne's legs were drained of color. The poisoned blood had dripped out entirely. His face was pale. Nevertheless, the venom had been completely removed from his body.

After doing all that, Simon spun on his heel and left.

To everyone, Simon was a peculiar and mysterious man.

The rest of the night ticked by in peace.

Julie, Mackayla, and Mauve huddled together, whispering among themselves.

Julie said, “Mauve, I think that strange Mister seems to be exceptionally fond of you. You should be more careful.”

“Be careful of what?” Mauve asked curiously.

Julie replied, “A man like him may be formidable, but certainly not someone suitable to settle down with. You need to watch out so he doesn't become attached to you.”

Mauve couldn't help but laugh. “With his personality, he probably wouldn't cling to anyone even if someone were to force him with a knife placed on his neck.”

Mackayla said, “That's not necessarily true. Anyway, we can all see that he treats you differently from the rest.”

Mauve was momentarily dazed. “I am very grateful to him. Without him, I wouldn't have survived even if I had two lives to spare.”

Julie and Mackayla exchanged glances, agreeing with Mauve's statement. Julie said, “You're right. You can repay his favor, but you shouldn't do that by marrying him. Otherwise, you'll suffer for the rest of your life.”

Mauve didn't respond as she didn't want to talk anymore. Her thoughts drifted to far-off places. She had become intensely curious about and interested in Simon. Who exactly is he? Why is he so mysterious and extraordinary?

Nevertheless, regardless of the many thoughts flooding her mind, she didn't dare to disturb Simon at

The night went by just like that.

Nights at Marlington were terrifying and tough to survive in, but the deep mountains of the place were peaceful and beautiful in the morning.

The air was exceptionally fresh and carried traces of sweet fragrances. There, one could truly leave behind the bustle and noise of the city, taking a break from the hectic life.

The morning breeze and the dawn were all heartwarmingly pleasant.

The university students started a new day with chatter as they packed their equipment and washed up. Some were brushing their teeth while others had their breakfast. They always seemed to forget Simon's presence. Or perhaps that wasn't the case. Instead, it was simply because no one had the courage to speak with him.

Moreover, Simon wasn't friendly to anyone. He had only rescued them because of Mauve.

At that moment, Mauve had tied up her hair. She brought breakfast consisting of milk and bread to Simon.

Simon was still up in the tree.

“Mister, have some breakfast.”

“No, thanks,” he replied coldly.

Mauve grinned at him. “Mister, please. This is already the third time I'm sending food to you. Why don't you have some food this time?”

This time, instead of leaving, she started acting coy with him.

Simon was stunned. After a few moments, he said, “Just place the food on the ground.”

“Hehe, thank you, Mister!” Then, she added, “My name is Mauve Lief. What's your name, Mister?”

“You talk too much,” Simon replied frostily.

“Tell me what's your name, then.”

Simon jumped down from the tree and picked up the bread and milk. He sat on the ground and started to eat while ignoring Mauve.

She jogged up to him and stretched out her hand. “My name is Mauve Lief. Nice to meet you.”

Simon didn't spare her a glance, but she stubbornly kept her hand extended.

Having no other choice, he responded tersely, “Simon.”

“Simon, thank you for saving me twice.” Mauve expressed her gratitude.

“I hope there won't be a third time.”

Mauve tilted her head and said, “I'll try my best.” After that, she sat down beside him. “Simon, we came here to explore the mysterious Marlington and write our graduation thesis based on this experience. Why did you come here?”

Simon remained silent.

Mauve shook his arm and pestered him, “Simon, tell me, please.”
