Chapter 330
Chapter 330
Vananeru couldn't persuade Galad. Sensing his anger, she had no choice but to let that matter go. Then, she left the room. Nevertheless, there was one thing she was certain of. That Chanaean woman is no longer at risk of losing her life.
After Vananeru left, Galad glanced at Mabel, who was unconscious. Then, he summoned his two lama subordinates, who were standing guard outside, into the room.
The two lamas approached Galad and greeted the latter politely, “Master Methendriel!”
Galad instructed, “Arrange for this woman to settle down here and ensure she gets enough food and water. Satisfy as much of her needs as you see fit.”
The two lamas were slightly taken aback as they couldn't fathom what was going on. Still, they answered, “Yes, Master Methendriel!” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Subsequently, the two lamas carried Mabel away from the meditation room.
Galad remained in the room and meditated. After some time, he abruptly got to his feet and exited the meditation room.
Celestial Sky Sect was a gilded monastery worshipping a giant Mitra deity.
Galad's clone was an embodiment of that Mitra deity.
He used his mana to condense the mind power, magnetic field, and elements of Mitra to achieve the manifestation of Mitra's clone. It was an exceptionally peculiar skill.
Galad headed straight to the alchemy room after leaving the meditation room.
The cacodemon was detained inside the alchemy room.
On his way to the alchemy room, all the lamas who saw Galad greeted him respectfully. However, he disregarded them, emitting an inexplicable air of arrogance.
Galad was an esteemed figure in Thymion and had his personal alchemy room.
Most of the expensive and rare herbs in Thymion were provided to him, while he would offer some of the elixir pills he crafted to the royal family.
Galad relied on elixir pills to enhance his cultivation.
Speaking of which, the elixir pills he crafted were on an entirely different standard compared to the ones produced in Divine Realm.
Obviously, Divine Realm's elixir pills could be proffered to countless experts, while the elixir pills made in Galad's alchemy room were only for his own use. Consequently, his juniors were also able to enjoy that privilege.
The elixir pills supplied to the royal family were all defective goods.
Nevertheless, even those inferior quality products were highly beneficial to ordinary people.
The dome in the alchemy room was high, and a huge purple and gold alchemy furnace remarkably
stood out.
The purple and gold alchemy furnace was called Pure Fire Black Furnace, and it was an extraordinary magical weapon. Pure Fire Black Furnace was equipped with its own formation and mana. The pure fire within the furnace was amazing, as it could instantly refine all the herbs' impurities.
Galad's alchemy skills were merely average. He could craft elixir pills primarily because of the assistance from Pure Fire Black Furnace.
Alchemy was not an activity that could be learned and replicated by commoners or ordinary tycoons.
It was almost impossible to perform that task without a magical alchemy furnace equipped with formation.
Not to mention, one would have to acquire rare medicinal herbs as crafting ingredients. That was not something an ordinary person could achieve on their own.
At that moment, pin-drop silence filled the air inside the alchemy room, and not a single lama was present.
Meanwhile, a leash was tied around the cacodemon's neck. At the same time, a mithril chain pierced through its scapulae. The other end of the chain was tightly fastened to one side of the alchemy furnace.
The cacodemon was given a plate of rancid leftovers to eat, which even the dogs refused to consume.
It seemed emaciated and haggard. Evidently, the Death Nail in its heart was causing it significant
damage.
When seen from afar, the cacodemon appeared no different from a child. Yet, it had to suffer such inhumane torments.
If Jonathan witnessed that scene, he would undoubtedly lose his mind and go crazy.
Galad walked up to the cacodemon.
The latter lifted its head weakly and regarded Galad with its empty gaze. Looking at Galad in bafflement, it asked, “Why? Why are you treating me like this? What have I done wrong?”
Galad replied flatly, “It's a mistake for some to even be born in the first place.”
“But it is not my choice to be born.” It conversed with Galad in Thymionan. In just a short period of a
few days, it had mastered Thymionan. The cacodemon's learning ability was astonishing.
“We don't have control over most things that happen to us. You can only blame yourself for being destined to live a miserable life.” Galad paused briefly before adding, “It is not my wish to humiliate you by restraining you in this place. Unfortunately, you are a cacodemon, the king of ghosts. I must eliminate your noble temperament before I can proceed with the next step.”
Galad was a wise and knowledgeable man. He knew that the cacodemon was fated to be a king. Therefore, the cacodemon was born with a natural air of arrogance. If Galad were to kill the cacodemon at that instant, he would merely end up provoking the latter.
The larger the pressure faced by the cacodemon, the greater it would resist.
The cacodemon's physical body was integrated with a frightening rejuvenating ability. Its cells could differentiate and develop limitlessly like human brain cells.
If the cacodemon's body grew sufficiently strong, it might even be able to devour the Death Nail.
The cacodemon would once again evolve if that happened. By then, even Galad would find it very difficult to subdue the cacodemon.
The consequences would be dire if the cacodemon were to escape.
A frosty glint filled with hatred flashed across the cacodemon's eyes after it listened to Galad's words. It gazed at Galad and said, “Are you saying I'm fated to endure these terrible things happening to me, and I'm not allowed to blame you or anyone else? Am I supposed to be treated in this lowly and degrading manner from the moment I was born?”
Sensing the changes in the cacodemon, Galad slightly furrowed his brows. “What are you trying to do?”
The cacodemon laughed out loud. “Fine. I shall do as you expect of me and wipe out all of you if I survive this predicament since you mentioned I could only blame myself for my ill fate. And I'm doing all of that because you forced me to.”
Galad's eyes gleamed coldly. “As expected, it seems like there is no taming your wildness and brutality. All the more reason for me to do away with you.”
The cacodemon snorted. “Since when have you shown me mercy? You're only letting me live because you aren't capable of killing me. How audacious of you to refer to yourself as the holy master when you can't even slaughter me while I'm being restrained by you. Pfft!”
“You're courting death, monster!” The cacodemon had successfully infuriated Galad.
Galad was not one to lose his temper easily, but the cacodemon's words had hit his sore spot. Therefore, at that instant, Galad failed to hold himself back and booted the cacodemon.
The cacodemon howled in agony after getting kicked in the face.
Then, Galad stepped on the cacodemon's head so that its face was stuck to the ground.
Galad was overwhelmed by the urge to finish the cacodemon off at that moment. He gradually exerted more force on his feet, causing the cacodemon's face to bend out of shape.
As Galad increased his strength output, the cacodemon finally spewed out a mouthful of blood.
Its body started to heat up as its face and body began turning red.
Similar to what happened previously, its internal organs seemingly became visible to the naked eye.
Galad finally realized something was off. He could sense that as he exerted more force, the cells in the cacodemon's body began mutating. The more pressure the cacodemon was subjected to, the more intense its cells transmuted.
Having no other choice, Galad retracted his leg.
“Haha!” The cacodemon laughed hysterically and shouted, “Go ahead and kill me, you good-for- nothing! Why don't you end my life right now if you're so capable?”
Face contorted with rage, Galad snorted and turned around to leave the alchemy room.
The cacodemon's demonic energy was intensifying. Its wisdom also expanded as it became more mature.
The way Galad treated the cacodemon seemed to have forced it to become more and more like the legendary terrifying king of ghosts that Galad expected it to be.
Galad became more determined in his decision to kill the cacodemon. I cannot allow it the slightest opportunity to turn the tide.
As night fell, Mapleton turned more lively and bustling. The exotic foreign beauties were so alluring that
they left a strong impression on tourists.
However, at that moment, Jonathan, who was strolling aimlessly on the streets, was in a foul mood.
Not only was he unaware of the cacodemon's situation, but he was also clueless about Mabel's status.
Jonathan didn't call Mabel as he didn't dare to do so because he knew if she were free, she would've contacted him. Something terrible must've happened to her since she didn't get in touch with me. In that case, her phone must no longer be in her possession. If I call her, I'll only risk exposing my whereabouts.
Jonathan couldn't establish contact with Mabel's subordinates either, so he could only wander around Mapleton helplessly.
Left without a choice, he dialed Jeff's number.
The call went through quickly.
“Who is it?” Jeff asked. He knew that it was a call from Jonathan, but he was also aware the latter was carrying out a secret mission at Thymion. Therefore, he decided to act with caution.
Jonathan replied solemnly, “Chief Yount, it's me.”
Jeff said, “I know it's you. What's the matter? Did something happen?”
Jeff fathomed Jonathan wouldn't have called him for no reason.
Jonathan answered, “Indeed.”
Colors drained from Jeff's face. “Was Mabel met with a mishap?”
“To be more precise, Mabel is missing.”
“How did that happen?” Jeff asked in a hurry.
Jonathan explained, “We made a plan to capture Master Methendriel's daughter, Vananeru. We figured Vananeru must possess a magical protective item, so our strategy was to let Mabel make the first move while I assisted her from the side. Unexpectedly, not long after Mabel got into Vananeru's car, I sensed a layer of golden light emitting from within the vehicle. When my vision refocused, Mabel and Vananeru vanished into thin air inside the car.”
Jeff grimaced and chided, “How could you target Master Methendriel's daughter? You've crossed the line! Vananeru is Master Methendriel's precious little princess, and by doing so, you're hitting a nerve in him! There's no telling what he'll do!”
Jonathan retorted, “We cannot seize the royal princess. If we don't take Vananeru captive, are you suggesting we force our way into Celestial Sky Monastery?”
“I told you so. There was no way you could rescue the cacodemon, but the two of you were too stubborn to heed my words.”
“Now is not the time to point fingers. What do you think of Mabel's current situation? Do you think her life is in danger?”
Jeff uttered, “Master Methendriel is a proud and self-centered man. Vananeru is the daughter he cherishes the most, yet you attempted to harm her. Even I can't anticipate what Master Methendriel will do when he loses his mind.” He paused briefly before adding, “Still, Mabel had survived her life-and- death tribulation, so she shouldn't expire just like that.”
In fact, the causality of the turns of events was fascinating.
If Mabel had attacked Vananeru the moment she got into the car, Vananeru wouldn't have pleaded with Galad to show Mabel mercy.
If Vananeru hadn't begged Galad, the latter might've done away with Mabel out of rage.
Mabel had unwittingly saved her own life for the time being.
Jonathan thought Jeff's words made sense. Mabel has already gotten a second chance in life, so she won't die just like that. In that case, what should I do next?
For a moment there, Jonathan couldn't think of any viable action plan.
