His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 147

After taking a deep breath, Faithe fixed her gaze, rolled her eyes, and scoffed, "Eliza, if you weren't flaunting your title as Mrs. Welton, do you really think you'd get invited to these kinds of social events? Mr. Casper is treating this meeting with utmost importance. If you mess up his business deal, you know the consequences."

"Slap."

A sharp smack landed on Faithe's face. She touched her stinging left cheek, staring at Eliza in disbelief. "You hit me?"

Faithe was just a secretary. Casper could threaten Eliza, but a mere secretary had no right. Who did Faithe think she was?

"I'm warning you, Faithe, if you ever talk to me in this tone again, I'll hit you again." Eliza glared at the face she had just slapped red. "Remember, I am still Mrs. Welton. Show some respect."

"You..."

"Go back and tell Mr. Casper that if he wants me to attend the social event, he should come personally." She shot a cold glance at Faithe. "You're not qualified to act that way. Get lost."

"Fine, I'll have Mr. Casper come to you personally then. And when he's furious, you'll regret it."

Faithe stormed off, fuming.

Eliza's good mood was ruined. She felt drained.

Later that evening, Robin's doctor called her, explaining in detail the treatment process for his condition.

"Ms. Eliza, Mr. Robin needs the most advanced medication available, and the entire course will cost about a million dollars. Ms. Chelsea has already paid a deposit of two hundred thousand, but that's far from enough. I'm calling you today to ask you to raise the money as soon as possible to avoid interrupting or delaying the treatment."

A million dollars was an astronomical amount for Eliza. Even though Chelsea had already contributed two hundred thousand, gathering the remaining balance seemed as daunting as climbing Everest. However, not going through the treatment wasn't an option either. This was Robin's last hope.

"Doctor, give me three days. I'll bring the money to you."

"Alright, we'll be waiting for you. We don't want to see all our efforts go to waste."

"Of course."

Eliza sighed, checking her bank account balance. It was just a drop in the bucket compared to a million.

The doorbell rang.

Casper was here. His expression was sour as he handed her a red cocktail dress without much enthusiasm. "Change into this and come with me to meet a client."

"I'm off today." She was reluctant.

"There's overtime pay." His gaze darkened. "Go change."

Eliza bit her lip and took the dress into the bedroom. The red cocktail dress, made of silk, was seductive in color. It was short, with a high slit, fitting snugly on her body, O highlighting her curves.

In the mirror, Eliza studied herself. This dress reminded her of the time Casper had sent her to seduce Easton.

That dress was even more daring. At least this one wasn't exposing too much skin. It was sexy, tinged with a bit of elegance.

The dress was so perfectly tailored that it seemed it could neither spare nor accommodate an inch more or less.

That only meant that the dress was

custom-made for her. The social event was clearly not a

spur-of-the-moment decision, for was she going because Nova was unavailable. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

When she walked out, Casper looked up. She always managed to astonish him. She had a great figure and long

legs; even the most ordinary es

would make her look dignified, not to mention a high-end cocktail dress like this.

She was beautiful, breathtakingly so, dangerously alluring. He couldn't help but swallow. "Not bad."

"Who does Mr. Casper want me to seduce today?" Eliza said disdainfully.

He leaned in close to her, chuckling lightly. "Who could you seduce? Haven't you botched it every time?"
