Chapter 34
It was around 1 when June texted her that she had left her place. Her mum and brother were already awake and was just chatting in the kitchen about if they would eat out today or order take-out since both her and Dean would be gone for the night.
She waved her mother goodbye and left the house. June was waiting for in the car. When Sara entered the car, she cheerfully greeted her and was surprised to see June looking a bit both Gothic than usual.
“Wow! You look…. dark.” Sara commented while staring at the dark lipstick on June’s lips.
“And you look like you just woke up. Is Dean the only one who you dress up for? You could have at least worn a lipstick!” June snapped back at her blunt staring.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Sara laughed and pointed to her lips, “I am wearing a tint. Lipstick just rubs off when you eat and I plan on going crazy today!”
June smiled at her and then shook her head as she drove to the mall. On the way she put on some music which they both screamed along. Sara had actually missed hanging out with June. She adored Dean and was happy that they could goof around even while being intimate but June was her still different. She was sure Dean would be happy to have a girl talk with her but she would prefer to have that with an actual girl.
When they reached the mall, they immediately went on shopping spree. Sara wanted to buy some new boots. She had obsessive love for leather boots along with off shoulder things. Though with Dean around, it was hard for her to wear off shoulder things she still wanted to buy them.
As they were browsing, Sara noticed a beige backless loss shirt. She had never really felt anything much about backless things but this one looks so pretty so she bought it anyway. She could show Dean and see what he thought about it.
“Are you sure? You haven’t ever worn such style before.” June said when she noticed her picked it up. Sara just shrugged her shoulder. She hasn’t done a lot of things she hadn’t done before but she liked when Dean liked what she wears.
June had dragged her later to a record store where she wanted to buy some of her metal records which Sara had zero interest in. Sara wasn’t a music person. She would occasionally listen to music when she was on her laptop on in car but going out of her way to buy it just sounded bothersome.
After that they went to the food court where they went crazy on food. Sara had been dying for some spicy pasta so she ordered two servings and enjoyed them while June wanted to eat her regular cheeseburger. Between the days she had texted Dean to ask him about what was going on to which Dean had assured her that it was alright now.
After warning him after drinking, they made their way to a salon. Sara had to get some waxing done while June wanted to get her eyebrow thread. Sara could never understand June’s obsession with thin eyebrows. The last time she had seen such sorry eyebrows were on celebrities in early 2000 but yet June still forced her such dark and beautiful eyebrows to be turned into a thin line, almost as if they were drawn by sharpie.
It was around 6 when they finally got free from the salon. Since they never got the time before, they actually got manicures done as well. Sara had actually gotten some nail art done this time on her sorry nails. It wasn’t much but simple marbling.
It was around the same time Dean texted her about leaving for the get together. Sara replied with a long rant on what he should and shouldn’t do and ended it with a threat that if she heard anything fishy from Drake, she will end him.
“Is there anything left to buy?” Sara asked when they sat down in a corner to take rest.
“Fush, I wanted to go to the body shop. I am all out of my body-wash. ” June cursed and started to drag her to the escalator once again. Sara wanted to wine but she remembered that since Dean started coming over, her stuff was running fast. How much body-wash did he use? She actually saw him using her body butter few times as well. No wonder he smelled so good.
Smiling to herself she followed June. Of course, though she had been unwilling to go, it was the kind of place where she could lost herself to time. She tried their new products with June and it wasn’t until an hour passed when they came out with hands full. Sara actually hadn’t wasted money, she simply bought everything from two of their collections. One for Dean and one for herself hoping that Dean would actually use those things instead of hers.
It was dark outside when they went out. And colder too, the air was chilly enough to make Sara shiver. It was almost December; they were expecting snow so that wasn’t a surprise. June helped Sara put everything inside the car and she texted Dean that she was on her way home.
It wasn’t after fifteen minutes passed that Sara noticed that she didn’t recognize the area around. She stayed silent, wondering if maybe June wanted to go somewhere else. Sara hadn’t drive much so she wasn’t very confident with how roads worked.
Few more minutes in, the car suddenly stopped. Sara turned towards June who looked a little blank.
“June, why did you stop?” Sara asked, confused.
“I didn’t. Something happened with the car. Wait, I’ll check.” June said and was about to go outside when Sara stopped her. She noticed that they were in a deserted area and was afraid that something would happen.
“I’ll come with you.” She said and as June nodded, they got out of the car. They both opened their cellphone flashlights and June opened the bumper, leaning down to take a look. Sara had zero knowledge about cars so she simply gave June light to see.
“June, let’s call someone.” Sara said. She had a bad feeling about it all. Dread was slowly pressing down on her. She didn’t wait for June to reply and opened her phone to call Dean when June shouted, “There is someone driving over!”
Before Sara could stop her, June was already waving her arms around. Sara pulled on her friend and snapped, “Have you lost your mind? We can’t trust a stranger!”
She was getting more afraid. She didn’t know how to fight and she wasn’t that good of a runner either. What the hell was June thinking, stopping a stranger.
“Relax, Sara. It’s a normal car. We’ll just ask to let him take a look. If he can’t help, you can call Dean. They guy finally got to meet his friends after so long, it would be rude to call him over simply because of something like that.”
Sara opened her mouth to answer but then suddenly paused, staring at June.
“How do you know what he is doing?” Sara slowly asked, a little confused and a little afraid.
Suddenly she felt a sharp pain behind her head, knocking the breath out of her. The last thing she remembered was June staring at her blankly as she lost conscious.
