Chapter 74
Chapter 74 Deceiving him 2 Spilling the truth!
James furrowed his brows in confusion. Jason clenched his fists tightly then he pulled away from the hug.
"Dad, I was so worried about you. Everything is so messed up at the moment. How did the interview go?" Jason asked with a fake worried expression.
James smiled. He was really happy that his son shows how much he cared for him. Maybe he has forgiven him. That's the best thing he ever wished for. Nothing other than that!
"Are you really worried about me son?' James asked and Jason sighed.
"No matter how angry I am at you. You are still my Dad. You birthed me. And I just realised how much you mean to me when all this scandal happened. I never wished harm for you and I still love you dad.." Jason explained.
"But what about your mum's death? Don't you still hold me responsible for it?" James asked and Jason sighed.
"I realised that I was wrong about that. I had mum's death investigated though. The doctor said she committed suicide. It's not your fault Dad. It's partially my fault, if I had been there for mum. None of this would have happened..' He said with a pained expression.
James patted his shoulders slowly with a smile.
"Let's forget the past now and move forward.."
"But Dad, are those accusations true?" Jason asked and James sighed.
"Let's sit.." He offered and they both sat down.
"Actually, none of those are true. You know I'm an upright man, son. They are lying..: He said and Jason almost scoffed but he withdrew himself.
"You great liar, your secret will be exposed soon.."
"Dad, actually I have something to say…"
"Go on.." James urged.
"I gave it a thought and decided to join you with your business.."
James smiled immediately.
"Wow! That's huge. Thanks a lot son.." He said.
"And I have another request.."
"Cancel the engagement with Giselle.."
James sighed.
"But you were the one who accepted it.."
"I did that because of you dad but honestly, I don't have plans of getting married for now. So just cancel it.."
"As you wish son.." He said and Jason nodded and stood up.
"I'll get going now. Stay safe Dad and don't go out with your bodyguards…"
"Yeah.." James nodded.
"Bye Dad.." He said and then walked out.
James smirked as he watched him walk out.
"Finally, my son forgave me and he's interested in my business.."
"I actually didn't expect it but that's very good. With Jason and Tyson's intelligence, my businesses would soar higher. I'm really glad this is working out.." He thought.
He then remembered Giselle.
"Well, I have to do what he asked of me. Gid knows how i have been dying for my son to forgive me. And now that he has, I can't risk the choice. I'm sorry but my son comes first.." James said.
Just then Tyson walked in smiling.
"Good evening dad.." He greeted and James smiled at him.
"Dad, Elle and I already finalised our wedding plans today. Our engagement is in two days and our wedding is in two weeks from now!" Tyson announced.
James rose his brows.
"Why the haste? Let things die down first.."
"Dad, time waits for no man. I'm sorry but I can't postpone my wedding before your scandal and moreover we have a plan for it so why should I?" Tyson asked and James nodded.
'Fine then. I'll discuss with your mum and hear her opinion.."
"That's good. Elle's mum is also coming to the country tomorrow.." Tyson said.
"She's coming here too, so have everything prepared.." Tyson added.
"Fine. I understand. You are way too excited.." James said and Tyson smiled.
"That reminds me, your brother called off his engagement with Giselle.. "
"What?"
"And you allowed it?" Tyson said angrily.
James stood up.
"And what could I have done? Your brother forgave me already. Today, for the first time in years, I saw his concern for me. Do you know how glad that makes me?" James asked and Tyson scoffed.
"But Dad.."
"No buts my son, I'm just so glad he forgave me. After all, Giselle is not the only girl he can get married to.."
"That's true because he's in love with my fiancee.." Tyson blurted out.
"What? Are you okay Tyson?" James asked.
"Dad, I know you won't believe me but the way he looks at her proves it all.." Tyson frustratedly said and James laughed.
"You are incredibly funny. Jason is not that type of person. You know who he loves all these years. He's still madly in love with that poor girlfriend of his. If it were you, I would understand. You were a womaniser before you met Elle and fell madly for her…"
"Seriously, Dad, I know you would take his side. After all he's your favourite son. You showed me that you really love Jason than us and that's because you truly loved his mum and not mine. You always said she's your first love. And first love don't easily die.." Tyson thought with clenched fists.
"Anyway, forget about that. I was thinking now that Jason is now on my side. Why don't I tell him about the businesses. He would be a great help. You both will head the businesses and you will also assist him when he needs your help.."
"What do you think?" James asked and Tyson clenched his fists more tightly. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
"It's has been always Jason. I'm not surprised. But one thing is for sure, I won't let him take my fiancee from me.." He thought.
"That's fine Dad.." Tyson faked a quick smile.
The door opened and Deborah walked in with shopping bags smiling heartily.
They both turned to her.
"Where are you coming from?" Tyson asked and she stopped and faced them.
"From nowhere.." She retorted back.
"What the hell is wrong with you? You can't continue acting like a childish princess or I'll send you to the states!" James threatened and she scoffed.
"Of course do it, that's what you want to do so you can keep me away from the truth of your illegal activities!" Deborah yelled at him.
"We.."
"Shut the hell up! So what if I did it, I'm not the only one who has done it.." James replied her angrily and the bags fell from her hands to the ground, some of the clothes and shoes she brought poured out from it.
"Dad, so you are admitting it. You did it. You cheated. You have been cheating your way through in politics!" Deborah yelled in tears and James stood shocked to the spot.
"I.. I thought you found out already.." He stammered.
