Chapter 211
Chapter 211
Nancy didn’t raise her voice as usual and talked to her gently. Perhaps it was because there was someone else next to her.
“As your manager, I only have your best interests at heart. I’ve looked into the event, and it’s a gathering of luxury brands. You’ll have the opportunity to meet not only top beauty brands but also fashion design companies.”
Hearing that, Angeline halted in her tracks and quickly made up her mind. “Okay. I’ll attend the event.”
Recently, Lillian texted her that the company her mother left her, Forrester Group, was back on track. Unfortunately, sales were not performing as well as expected.
They were neither as well-known as top international brands nor as affordable and quick as fast fashion brands.
Therefore, they needed to focus on producing high-quality products. Since her mother’s passing, Forrester Group had yet to produce any truly exceptional designers.
It would be great if Angeline could find a suitable designer at the event. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Yes, that’s what I… Oh!” Nancy was about to explain when she suddenly moaned out loud.
Her shrill moan nearly broke Angeline’s eardrums. Suddenly, a man spoke at the other end of the line. “Vixen…”
The call was abruptly ended. Angeline stared at her phone screen, feeling exasperated.
I knew it. Nancy will never change. Look how she’s having fun overseas. Hmm, why does the man’s voice sound familiar? Was it Roger?
Angeline was taken aback by the thought.
Nancy and Roger are rivals, right? They fought every time they met. I can’t imagine them having sex!
After packing up, Angeline told the driver to give her a ride to the hospital. Sebastian’s external injuries were nearly healed after receiving treatment for the past few days.
Angeline planned to get him discharged from the hospital so he could recuperate at home. It was boring for him to be cooped up in the hospital all day long.
Exposure to the outside world would be beneficial for his development.
Angeline stepped out of the vehicle and walked past the back garden. The weather was perfect today. She noticed a group of people gathered together; their attention was focused on something.
Initially, she didn’t want to join the crowd. But then, an elderly lady in the group clapped and exclaimed excitedly, “Excellent! Young lady, you are so talented. Do another one!”
“Thank you, ma’am!” a young voice replied.
Hearing that, Angeline halted in her tracks and frowned in confusion.
Why does that sound familiar?
“Everyone, this is my younger brother. Can you clap your hands to encourage him to dance with me?”
The elderly people clapped profusely and encouraged them, “Okay. Good luck, kids!”
“Yes! Oh, I love them. I wonder who the parents of these adorable children are!”
A sense of apprehension filled Angeline. She pushed her way through the crowd and finally saw the face of the little girl. At once, she put her hand to her forehead.
I knew it. It’s Floretta!
“My brother and I shall dance to the song ‘Little Sparrow’!” Floretta announced as she stood in the middle of the crowd.
She held the hem of her skirt and gave a little bow.
As Francesca played the music, Floretta dashed to Sebastian, who was cowering in the corner. She exclaimed with enthusiasm, “Sebastian, why are you hiding? Come, let’s dance together! See, everyone loves us!”
Sebastian firmly shook his head. His cheeks were visibly red, indicating he had no desire to dance.
He was too scared to even glance at the people around him. He hung his head low in fear and anxiety.
Seeing Sebastian’s timid reaction, Floretta told him solemnly, “Sebastian, you’re too shy. I’m younger than you, but I dare to express myself. That is why everyone loves me. It isn’t scary at all.” With that, she began dancing to the music. She gracefully twirled around while holding the bottom of her dress.
“Come on, Sebastian. Follow me. Why don’t you give it a try?”
She dragged Sebastian into the middle of the crowd and taught him how to pose.
Initially, Sebastian was embarrassed. However, he was too shy to leave. Floretta appeared to be enjoying herself greatly; thus he slowly became more curious.
He remained in place for a few seconds and soon thought it through. Eventually, he lifted his small hands and began mimicking Floretta’s dance moves.
“Good job!” the crowd cheered and clapped their hands.
Despite blushing constantly, Sebastian gained more confidence to finish the dance with Floretta.
Tears threatened to spill out of Angeline’s eyes when he saw that. She clapped together with everyone.
I can hardly believe that a child performed better than me. I had been taking care of Sebastian attentively before, but in just a few days under Floretta’s influence, he had made significant progress. He’s obviously more cheerful now.
“Angel!”
Floretta only noticed Angeline when the dance came to an end. She flung her arms wide and ran toward Angeline excitedly.
“When did you come back? I brought Sebastian down to dance without your approval. Will you be mad at me?”
“Of course not,” Angeline assured, brushing a finger across her nose.
She then glanced at the still-shy Sebastian and gestured for him to come over.
Sebastian hesitated for a few seconds before walking over to her.
“Don’t be scared.” Angeline bent down to meet his gaze. She said calmly, “You danced well. Look, everyone loves you!”
Sebastian pursed his lips. He grabbed the corner of his shirt, and his cheeks turned as red as a tomato.
Although he was still shy, it was obvious that he had gradually become more comfortable in his surroundings.
“Ms. Sorelle, I’ve been searching for you everywhere!” At that moment, a nurse rushed over to Angeline with a serious expression. “Your grandfather’s condition has worsened today. I tried
contacting your family members, but none of them answered. We need you to sign the notice of critical condition.”
