He Transfused All My Blood to His Beloved Novel by Wenxia

Chapter 4

When I opened my eyes again, I was lying in a hospital bed, the scent of antiseptic thick in the air.

Jackson sat nearby, staring at his phone. He wore his slim–framed glasses, his long lashes casting shadows over his perfectly sculpted face.

This was the man I had once fallen for, the man I had abandoned everything for -despite my parents‘ disapproval, I had chased after him all the way from Los Angeles to this small town.

I had once been the most cherished daughter of a family of scholars, yet now, my own daughter was gone, abandoned and alone.

“Where is Mona? How is she?”

Jackson rubbed his hands nervously, avoiding my gaze.

“I’m asking you–where is Mona?”

“She’s… gone. Her ashes are on the table by your bed. You should find a good place to bury her.”

“Gone? How dare you tell me to grieve quietly? Do you really think her death has nothing to do with you? You plotted against us–against me and my daughter! I’m her mother! How could you be so cruel, not even letting me see her one last time?”

Jackson pretended to shed a few tears, as if mourning Mona’s passing.

“But… you’re pregnant again. Almost four months now. Don’t be too sad.”

“I wish I could peel back your skin and see if you’re the devil himself! What kind of man are you? Even if I had ten more children, they’d all be destined to suffer with you!”

“I’m sorry, but Andrew desperately needed the blood at that moment. I couldn’t just watch a young life slip away. Besides, Mona wouldn’t have been able to use your blood anyway!”

Rage surged through me. I jumped out of bed, the IV needle tearing at my skin, blood splattering across the white tile floor.

Smack!

I slapped Jackson hard across the face, his expression one of utter disbelief.

“Has Elaine taken your heart as well? Was it too much to ask for an apology? Your heart must be made of stone! Your own

daughter is dead, and here you are defending someone else’s son!”

Éver since Mona’s accident, Jackson had stayed by Elaine and her son’s side.

I had called Jackson at least ten times before he finally answered.

“I’m busy. Can’t you stop bothering me?

Andrew’s hurt too, and Elaine can’t handle everything on her own. Stop causing trouble.”

“Mona’s a big girl now, isn’t it normal for kids to face a little hardship? No one grows up without any bumps along the way. Stop being so dramatic. She’ll be fine.“”

“Dad, can you tell me a story?”

“Of course, sweetheart. Daddy’s coming.”

Jackson’s voice, which had been so cold with me, softened immediately. Without hesitation, he hung up, leaving me alone to sit by our severely injured daughter.

It became clear to me then–he didn’t hate children. He just hated me and my poor, unfortunate Mona.

The sound of heels clicking against the floor pulled me from my thoughts.

Elaine appeared, dressed in white, her long black hair pulled into a low bun. She looked as fragile as ever.

“Jackson, what should we do? Andrew says he’s in pain again.”

“I’ll go right now. Tell Andrew not to worry, Uncle’s coming.”

Jackson turned back to me before leaving.

“Elaine’s been through a lot. Try to be more understanding and stop causing problems for me.”Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

He turned to go, but I grabbed the IV stand and hurled it at the both of them.

“You filthy pair of scum! One day, you’ll both get what’s coming to you!”
