Caught Between The twin CEO

“Welcome ma’am” Sydney was greeted as she entered the building.

“Good morning,” she responded to the others who had been greeting her.

Ever since she got the contract she had been given the all the utmost respect she deserved because well she worked hard to earn the respect.

When Sydney went off to the office she realized Paxton was nowhere to be found.

“Has Mr. White not come?” She asked the secretary who was outside the office working on some documents.

“Not yet ma’am” the lady responded and went on to do her job.

“Okay” She responded and went in to begin her work on the contract still.

After about two hours of working she finally raised her head, perceiving the cologne whom she had been anticipating all morning.

“You are late Mr. White, you came at midday” she jokingly said but the look on his face was not that for jokes but he responded to her.

Courtesy sake that is.

“I went to attend to a client but luckily we are done” Paxton responded and walked past her to his office.

She could tell his mood was not good but she also thought maybe it was the client who had annoyed him after all some clients were blessed with pissing people off.

After giving her a cold shoulder all day it was 3 pm and it was now time for lunch, well it was a late lunch so he went to her office and knocked on the door.

“Can I come in?” Paxton asked and Sydney with a smile showcasing her dimpled jaw nodded.

“Yes you can come in” She said showing the chair to him and he sat down.

“What exactly is it you want us to discuss?” Sydney asked pressing the save button on her laptop so that he could be able to talk with her and her attention would not be divided.

Well I came here to invite you out to lunch” Paxton said with high hopes.

“Lunch? After you had been giving me attitude all morning you are asking me to go to lunch with you Paxton?” She asked finally bring up the fact that he had made the environment unbearable for her.

“I am sorry the day was not the best for me reason why I want to make it up to you by taking you out for lunch, that is if you would allow me do so” he apologized to her as he was not sure of what it was else she wanted him to do.

“I would go with you on one condition” She said twirling her eyes in a flirty manner.

“And what could that be?” he asked.

“I’ll have a big container of ice cream and it should be a chocolate flavor and another container for vanilla, I want to make sure that I have enough ice cream in my system” Sydney said with a great smile on her face because she thought he was going to refuse but he was so determined to make her happy.

“Done, anything to make my brother’s woman happy” Paxton said.

“Wait you mean it?” Sydney asked as she got up and ran to his side hugging him so tightly that there was some sort of electric shock between them.

“Don’t worry, it’s okay, we are friends aren’t we?” he responded trying not to make her seem too uncomfortable from the awkwardness of their relationship.

Although what happened last night still lingered at the back of his mind that his brother might be the one who needs to be taking his girlfriend out for lunch and not him.

But to Paxton he knew that he was just doing something which didn’t warrant any suspicions or so he thought.

After they had left just immediately Jaxton came to look for Sydney so they could go out for lunch but he noticed that she was not on seat hence he asked her secretary.

“Where is Ms. Sydney?” he asked the secretary.

“She went to lunch with Mr. White Paxton Sir” she responded.

“What?” Jaxton exclaimed causing the poor secretary to jerk in fear as he roared out in anger.

“Am sorry sir” she apologized.

“Why are you apologizing?” he turned and asked the Secretary who thought maybe she had said something which had annoyed Jaxton.

Before she could respond she was on call as he dialed Sydney.

“Hello Jaxton?” She answered the phone as they had just made a turn into the restaurant.

“Where are you?” was the response she got and she didn’t like his tone.

“Is there a problem Jaxton?” she asked causing Paxton to look at her with a worried expression maybe he should have just not invited her out. Maybe this was a bad idea.

“I am out with Paxton he invited me out to lunch” she explained.

“So why did you call…” before she could finish her sentence Jaxton stopped the call and she looked to Paxton.

“Trouble in paradise?” Paxton asked.

“Don’t worry about Jaxton we would talk about it when I get back to the office for now I need my ice cream” she said changing the mood from tensed to smiley but her heart sensed trouble and also Paxton knew there was problem but he had fulfill his promise he would deal with his brother later.

Jaxton being annoyed scattered every document on his desk and then went on to start damning his brother.

Jaxton was sure that his brother was in love with Sydney maybe he had to set these things straight because everything was not going well he needed to mark his territory.

They entered the restaurant and Paxton pulled the chair out for her and she sat.

“Thank you” she said and he sat down too and they took their orders.
