CHAPTER THIRTEEN
We passed a sitting room, I saw a dining hall at one end, I saw lots of doors from the left to the right, and they seemed to be offices, but I did not see a single soul there. It seems like the place was so dry, but it was also breathtaking.
This was my first time walking through a place like this, it seems like a mansion up here, a complete house with no occupant living in it.
When we got to a place with a golden door, we stopped, and I stared at the door. This door is worth a lot of money.
At that moment, it dawned on me that the Seamus Group of Companies were the moneymakers.
I was so flustered as a result of how breathtaking the place was.
The glass on the walls was perfect, and I could see my reflection. The exterior designs were making my mouth drop.
This wasn’t an office, this was paradise on earth.
The fact that Mr. Aaron turned the door handle and the door opened and he walked in, which I was not aware of because my eyes were moving around admiring the beauty that was to behold,
“Christina, come in,” Mr. Aaron said, bringing back my sense of reason. I went in, and at that instant, I nearly had a heart attack.
What I saw was truly paradise.
How the hell would someone call this place an office?
“This is going to be your office,” Mr. Aaron said.
I heard him clearly, but the sentence was repeated in my ears.
“Christina, this is going to be your office.”
What!! My office?? I was so happy, finally, today was not actually a bad omen.
Immediately, a wild smile appeared on my face as tears of joy fell off my face.
Oh, my goodness!
“Yes, this is where you would be working from now onwards,” Mr. Aaron repeated. Wow, I was so happy. Firstly, I think I was already hired.
Secondly, this breathtaking place was my office.
I thought as I used my two hands to clean my face and opened it again to know if it was a joke, but no, it wasn’t a joke.
I moved around as I placed my hand on every surface to feel the texture. “Mr. Aaron, do you mean this is my office?” I asked with so much excitement, I had already heard him, but I needed to hear that word again.
“Keep your happiness to yourself, remember the boss needs your presence in his office,” Mr. Aaron said as I snapped out of my fantasy world and returned to reality. I suddenly looked blank.
I was not happy, nor was I sad. The fact that I looked blank at the mention of the boss’s needing my presence in his office sounded
The fact that I looked blank at the mention of the boss’s needing my presence in his office sounded good but also bad in my ears.
I just hoped I could skip that method of seeing him, but I had no choice.
Why didn’t I have a choice? That was definitely because he was the owner of the Seamus Group of Companies.
“Yes, I remember you saying that earlier, and that was the main reason we got here in the first place.” I almost replied sarcastically, but thank God I didn’t reply in that manner.
“Why would I even be scared of that man?” I asked myself.
Well, I don’t think I need to be scared anymore because I don’t know him and he doesn’t know me either.
“Okay, that is good. Anyway, he would ask of you any moment from now and brief you on what you are going to be doing around here, but if you find it hard to understand some things, always make sure to let me know and I will help you out with what I know, so good luck,” Mr. Aaron said, and immediately his phone rang.
He was meters away before he picked up the call. “Where is she?” the caller asked in a broad, scary voice.
“Mr. Gavriel, she would be there any moment from now,” Mr. Aaron said as the call got hung up, and he turned to look at me.
“You have to go now, follow me so I can take you to him, we don’t have time anymore,” Mr. Aaron said.
“Okay,” I replied as I looked around my office. “I am coming back for you,” I actually said to no one in particular, but I knew I was coming back to this office and sitting in that chair. I knew within me that I had gotten this job.
“Let us get going now,” Mr. Aaron said as he hurriedly walked out of the office, through the hallway, and then towards an office.
He didn’t bother knocking as he pushed the door open.
I followed him, but the moment he opened the office door, I had to pause immediately.
So I did not follow Mr. Aaron into the office, so I had to wait until he called for me.
I could hear them discussing something that seemed important, and I instantly thanked God that I did not follow Mr. Aaron into the office initially.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
After what seemed like minutes, Mr. Aaron walked out of the office. “Christina, you should go in now, remember to answer questions respectfully,” Mr. Aaron whispered into my ears as he left. I didn’t know why he made that statement, but I made sure I encoded it in my head.
I majestically walked into the office.
It was a little dark inside, and I noticed the walls were decorated with dark nature wallpaper as a blue color.
Who in heaven’s name makes an office look like a club?
When I was satisfied with looking around, finally my gaze met with the man who was sitting at a desk, and he looked down, flipping through the pages of a book.
I saw his eyes shine before he looked down, perfect golden eyes, which reminded me of the beautiful sight of fire from the burning volcano as it burned down and poured its golden emissions into the ocean.
His neatly combed hair fell to his shoulders along with his perfectly chiseled chest, a part of which I could see perfectly fitted into the suit.
