Chapter 2118
“Hey! Are you crazy? We agreed to sort out the trouble, and now you’re only making it worse!” Ruby exploded after hearing Dustin’s words.
They had put a lot of effort into helping Dustin with his problem, but now he seemed completely indifferent. Despite everyone’s efforts, he was adamant about not giving in to Kendricks and even seemed prepared to face him directly.
Dustin’s actions left her feeling frustrated. She also realized that if Kendricks got upset, they wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
“Hey, kid! Do you have any idea who you’re talking to?” Kendricks narrowed his eyes with a hint of menace creeping into his gaze. He had expected boldness, but Dustin’s audacity caught him off guard.
“I know who you are. But I want to reiterate that Aldric’s death isn’t on me, regardless of what you think,” Dustin replied calmly, showing no signs of backing down.
“Okay, fine!” Kendricks suddenly chuckled, his smile sending shivers. 1
He glanced at Crystal and the others as he spoke. “I admire your guts, kid. For the sake of the Sword Union, I’m willing to offer you a chance. If you can take one strike from me and live, I’ll let you go. How’s that?”
Dustin was just a nobody. He wasn’t much of a concern to Kendricks, but those Sword Union disciples complicated things.
After all, Kendricks’ offer was a way out for them all, a chance to avoid things getting uglier. But if they insisted on causing trouble, he wouldn’t hold back.
“Are you sure you could finish me with just one strike?” Dustin asked.
“Confidence comes from strength. When dealing with scum like you, a single strike is all it takes,” Kendricks retorted coldly.
“Alright, let’s see what you’ve got,” Dustin smirked.
“Dustin, be careful! Kendricks is no pushover,” Dalen whispered behind him.
Miles advised, “Yeah, Dustin! Those Legendary List guys are no joke. You can’t take them lightly.’
He added, “Anyway, give it your all, and don’t hold back. Just endure that one strike.”
Dustin was facing Kendricks in a direct showdown, and his chances were slim. However, if he could withstand just one blow from Kendricks, there might be a chance to make it through.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got this,” Dustin reassured with a slight nod.
He didn’t bat an eye at Kendricks or the whole Bloodfiery Legion. Even if Kendricks ranked eighth on the Legendary List, Dustin remained unrivaled at the summit. With sheer ranking alone, he could effortlessly outmatch any challenger.
“Good luck!” Crystal’s words were brief.
Kendricks’ concession to just one strike demonstrated his respect for the Sword Union. Now, the weight of the situation rested on Dustin’s shoulders. If he could withstand Kendricks’ blow, the crisis would be averted. However, failure would cost him his life.
In the martial world, rules existed, but strength ultimately prevailed. The one with the stronger fist held sway, while those without powerful allies had no recourse to justice.
“Fine, I’ve had enough of this. Sort it out on your own!” Ruby muttered in annoyance before moving aside.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
She had already given all the warnings she could. Dustin always seemed to find trouble, and there was little she could do to prevent it.
