Branch One Hundred and Sixty Two
As Jessica enters the house she is greeted by Olivia who seems to be in high spirits. Jessica rarely saw her aunt unless she needed something and she expected this was one of those times.
“I am in no mood for your nonsense this night so please save it,” Jessica said before Olivia could get a word out.
“My nonsense?” Olivia scoffed. “That is no way to talk to your aunt. I guess you now think you are better than me because you happened to marry into a rich family so you think I am beneath you. You have never been this rude but since you came here it seems like you look down on me a lot”
Jessica glanced at her and shook her head. It was obvious to her that the whole epistle she had given was because she had denied her access to money.
“You can call me rude or disrespectful all you want but I want to let you know that I will never allow you access to the Delgado’s money. The reason is that it is not mine and if it is not mine there is no way I can give you a part of it unless I steal it”
“Why do you act all useless? If you are married you own whatever that family owns. Moreover, the sum I am asking for is chicken change and I am sure your husband would be able to afford it without breaking a bone”
Jessica gaped at her. “Why do you feel entitled to things that are not yours?” she asked her aunt who was shamelessly rambling about how she should get a couple of tens of millions.
She knew her too well, giving her the money could not be the end of the situation. Olivia wanted to try to reason with her niece so maybe she wouldn’t have to commit a crime after all. When she noticed that pressuring her to give her the money was not going to work she knew she had to change strategy. If she could not convince them maybe she could invoke her emotions to feel pity for an old helpless woman.
“I did not want to tell you this because I did not want you to worry b…”
“Since when did you care about my emotions?” Jessica asked rolling her eyes and standing up to go to the kitchen. She spared her a minute because she still respected her as a person but since it seemed like she was going to go ahead and talk rubbish all day she had to leave since she did not have all day.
“Just hear me out, if I can convince you then I will never bring it up again” Jessica sighed and sat back down. She had made up her mind that no matter what she said she was going to be indifferent about it.
“So you see I owe a loan shark a huge amount of money, I acquired this debt through gambling and they are threatening to take you if I don’t settle the debt”
“Olivia,” Jessica said angrily. She rarely called her aunt by the name but seeing she did so she must have been pissed.
“Please stop with the lies and emotional blackmail. I don’t have that amount of money to give you. If I did I wouldn’t be struggling to open a restaurant”
Jessica walked away leaning her aunt to her thoughts. She knew now that all she had to do was steal and run.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Jessica made the meal and then served it on the table. She went upstairs to take a short break and then freshen up. She was tired from the activity of the day and the excessively long talk she had with Olivia.
She entered the closet and began to undress. Usually, she would have done this in the bathroom but since she thought she was all alone she decided to do it there.
Suddenly a huge game engulfed her body. She froze in her legs as she was afraid. She knew that no one apart from Xavier was allowed into his room. She knew it was Xavier but she did not know how to react. She was standing there only in her underwear and he was behind her his huge hands over her body.
She wanted to run away from him. How could he see her this way? What if he made a mistake because of the way he met her? Why did she let her guard down and decide to undress in the closet instead of in the bathroom as usual?
“I miss you so much” he whispered as he dropped kisses on her hair, neck, and shoulder blades.
Jessica did not know how to react because, well she was in her underwear and was not feeling very confident to face him.
“Did you not miss me?” he asked his hand freeing her body.
“Do not come” she shouted when she noticed he was trying to come to her front.
“What why?” he asked flustered.
“I don’t want you to see me this way” she screamed again.
“What way?” he asked confused.
“In my underwear” she retorted back to him. “Could you please go?” she asked as she closed her eyes and bent her head.
“Are you shy?” his voice danced with excitement at the possibility that she was too shy to face him while looking like that.
“No, I am embarrassed”
“But I love what I see” She looked up before the direction of the sound of his voice changed and there he was standing before her. She felt her legs grow weak as if they were jelly.
His eyes were darker than usual and they were staring right at her. She bent her head because she knew she might not be able to maintain eye contact anymore.
“Do not drop your eyes” he said using his finger to lift her head. Their eyes met and Jessica was sure fireworks exploded in her stomach.
