Chapter 206 A Sasaeng Fan
“Baby Shannon, don’t scream! I won’t hurt you! I just want to invite you to my house as a guest. I’ve collected so many things of yours, would you like to take a look?” The man’s eyes became more and more fanatical as he spoke. His expression was even abnormal. Just as she was about to be pushed into the car, Brendon appeared and Shannon immediately shouted, “Brendon, help me!”
…
Ranita waited for Brendon. But he didn’t come back and the food had gone cold. Ranita had the room service pack up her things and hesitated before finally calling Brendon.
“Beep beep beep! The number you have dialed is busy, please try again later,” came the mechanical voice from her phone.
Ranita put her phone away and sent Brendon a message, “When you see this message please reply.”
“Is Miss Murphy okay?”
But there was no response.
Ranita worked on some documents but found herself daydreaming until her phone rang.
“Brendon… where are you?”
“I’m with Shannon. Something unexpected happened here so I might need to stay with her tonight instead of coming back.”
Unexpected? How many unexpected things could happen with Shannon?
She had expected it but it still hurt every time.
Brendon saw that she was silent and explained, “She ran into an obsessed fan in the parking lot who almost kidnapped her. She’s not feeling well now so I can’t leave.”
“Julia is also there.”
Julia went over to handle Shannon’s situation while that crazy fan got arrested by police.
“Well then go ahead with your work. I’ll hang up now.”
“Ranita…” Brendon hesitated before finally saying after a long pause, “Get some rest early tonight.”
“All right!” Ranita replied softly before ending the call.
She forced herself back to work but couldn’t concentrate because of all these mixed emotions inside of her head; eventually she gave up trying altogether and lay down on bed scrolling through news articles instead.
The next morning Julia told Ranita that Brendon personally escorted Shannon back home in Kurima.
Ranita went alone to visit Allen at hospital where he started chattering once he saw her, “Sister-in-law, why didn’t you come see me yesterday? It’s been boring without anyone around!”
“I had something going on yesterday.”
“Wow! I saw in the family group chat that Shannon came to Qaesburg? Is she crazy or something? You guys came here to work, why did she come to join the fun?” Allen mocked, noticing Ranita’s not-so-good expression and asked worriedly, “Sister-in-law, did you not sleep well last night? Your complexion doesn’t look too good.”
Ranita sat down and Allen peeled an orange for her. “Sister-in-law, eat this,” he said.
“Thank you. I worked too late yesterday and didn’t rest well,” Ranita replied after a pause. She then asked, “Are you feeling better now?”
As for Shannon and Brendon, they were never mentioned.
The orange tasted good – sour yet sweet. Ranita used to dislike it but now found it quite enjoyable as she ate it slowly with small bites. Allen peeled another one for her.
“Sister-in-law… why don’t you divorce Brendon?” Allen joked with a smile on his face. “You’re so great but my cousin doesn’t appreciate you so just ignore him.”
Ranita handed half of the orange in her hand over to Allen and said, “Kids shouldn’t meddle in adult affairs.”
“I’m not a kid! You’re only two years older than me! How can you say that?” Allen was speechless.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“You’re still a kid like this,” Ranita teased back at him happily. In the Stuart family, even though Brendon was perfect in everyone’s eyes except hers’, Allen always sided with her instead of his own cousin because he thought highly of her abilities.
