Chapter Ninety-Three
Chapter Ninety-Three
A loud knock echoed into Axel's room, forcing him to leave his bed and walked over to the door.
When he opened it, Axel scowled at his man and gazed the other way before walking back inside.
“Boss, there's a problem,” Hunan said as he followed his boss further into the room.
“What's the problem?” Axel mumbled, taking in a deep breath to ignore the anger he felt. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
When Hunan's gaze met his cold eyes, the room fell silent, and the atmosphere became awkward.
Then he coughed slightly, stared away from Axel, and said, "I just got word that Richard went over to
the safe house this morning."
"What! How could they let him inside!... Who let him inside!" Axel roughly said, squeezing his fist.
"I don't know, boss. He came demanding to talk face to face with you and refused to leave." Hunan
mumbled, keeping his gaze glued to the floor.
Screwing his face into a frown, Axel glared at Hunan and lashed out, "Why the heck did nobody tell me
this a while back!"
"Dice didn't think it was that serious. Also, he thought, Richard left after his first warning to him." Hunan
said, hesitating for a moment. "But the thing is, Rome men track Richard, and now, they have most of
our men badly wounded… and…"
"And they have Catherine?"
"Ye… yes!"
"Fuck!!!"
Darkness clouded Axel's eyes as he tightened his fist, pacing back and forth with his lips pressed in a
firm line.
"I took months and a lot of money to perfect this plan, and that bastard suddenly ruins it all in a flash
because you guys are all idiots! I should not have relaxed and left things to you fools, even if everything
were going smoothly." Axel shouted, throwing Hunan a death stare.
Keeping his lips sealed together, Hunan's head remained bow. Then he heard the sound of the opening
of a drawer, and he raised his gaze to stare at his boss.
"Wh...at ar...e you going to do?" Hunan mumbled in fear as he frowned at the guns in Axel's hands.
"Finish this once and for all. The game was fun. But now, it's time for me to say, 'Checkmate. I win!'
And then sent the Fords to hell where they belong!" Axel said, shoving the guns in the back of his
trouser.
Then he pulled out his phone, dialed a number, and waited impatiently with the phone pressed against
his ear.
"Foe, where is Rome right now?" Axel asked the moment his call got answered.
"He just arrived at the hotel, and I received information from Hester that he went to his suite." Foe's
voice echoed into his ear.
"Good. Tell Hester that if Rome tries to leave the hotel, they should cease him. It's just Rome, his
driver, and his bodyguard, so that should be easy. Let them hold him till I get there! I'm on my way to
the hotel right now."
"Yes, boss."
After ending the call, Axel picked his black jacket off the bed, wore it to cover his guns, and walked
away.
Frowning at Richard, Blaze took a moment to balance on his feet as he gazed at Dice's cold body on
the floor and mumbled, "That's should be the last of these guys."
Then he walked over to Catherine, smiled softly, and said, "Boss, can finally breathe now that we found
you. I should text him and tell him that we got you. When we are safely back in the van, you can talk to
him."
"Thank you," Catherine cried, wiping her cheeks as her lips curved into a gentle smile.
After calmly staring at her, Blaze glared at Richard before looking at one of his men and said, "Take this
fool away!"
"Catherine… Cousin!!" Richard shouted as both his hand got forcibly twisted behind his back by a built
fellow.
But Catherine said nothing as she watched with coldness in her eyes as they dragged him away while
he struggled and screamed, "Get your dirty hands off me!"
The quietness in the room felt deafening as Rome sat at the edge of his bed with his face buried in his
palm, not knowing what to think or do anymore.
Then he let out a shaky breath and whispered, "I need a miracle, please!"
Suddenly, his phone buzzed, and slowly, he raised his head, sniffing softly.
When Rome finally picked up his phone and stared at the screen for a moment, he immediately stood
to his feet and ran out of the room.
"Boss," K said as Rome approached him at a fast pace.
"They got Catherine!" Rome heartily uttered.
"What? How?"
"I'm not sure. But Blaze said that he will call me a few moments from now."
Striving to keep up with Rome's rapid movement, K smiled broadly and mumbled, "So…"
"We are going to get my wife!!" Rome happily shouted, unable to stop the corner of his lips from pulling
upward.
When they got into the lobby, Rome eyed Hazard before walking past him with K a few steps behind
him.
At that moment, Hazard noticed Axel's man casually pursuing after Rome, and he didn't waste a
second to follow after him.
When Rome and K reached the parking lot, two guys immediately got out of a black vehicle and started
to move toward them.
Instantly, Tan left his post and walked after Rome and K. Then within a few minutes, the parking lot had
an intense atmosphere as Hazard, Tan, K, and Rome stood, facing three of Axel's men.
Then a couple of seconds later, the remaining two of Axel's guys came walking into the parking lot. But
a minute later, Damon and Jon also walked into the area, moving towards them.
“Let's not do this the hard way,” Rome said as his face hardened.
"If you want to leave this parking lot, you have to go through us." Hester boldly said.
"I can work with that," Damon uttered with a smirk. "You are mine."
Giving a smug smile, Tan sneered and said, "I will take the one on the right."
"Leave the one in the middle to me." Hazard coldly uttered.
"Give me the one in the red shirt," Jon said with a broad grin.
"Who ass I'm I going to kick if you guys got all of them," K said, frowning deeply.
Seeing the look of excitement in K and the others' eyes, Axel's men felt hesitant to advance. But even
though they kept still, Hazard, Tan, Jon, and Damon charged to them, slitting up as they rushed to their
pick.
Watching, Rome bored a calm expression on his face as he stared at Damon stuck a guy in the jaw
before kicking him in the kneecap.
Then he swayed his gaze toward Tan, continuously whacking a dude in the face, even though he was
getting several brutal punches to the gut.
After staring for a while, Rome casually dragged his focus to Hazard as he banged his knee in between
a fella's legs, and Rome's lips made an "O" shape as he mumbled, "Oooh!"
"That's going to hurt," Rome whispered, looking away from them.
Then he glanced at Jon when his foot vigorously landed against a guy's neck, sending him a few steps
backward.
Suddenly, Rome's ringtone snatched his focus off the fight, and he took one look at its screen and
immediately answered the call.
"Hello," Rome mumbled, feeling uncertain about the word in his head.
"Honey," Catherine whispered as she allowed her tears to pull like a river while seated in the backseat
of the KOMBAT T98.
"Babe!"
"I…"
The words in Catherine's head instantly got stuck in her throat as she sob softly, crying her eyes out.
Then she suddenly felt her breath cut and her heart hit against her rib when the deafening sound of a
gunshot pierced into her ear.
"Rome!" Catherine screamed, tears soaking upon her cheek, and then, it took only a second for her to
lose consciousness.
