Return Of The Bad Boy Alpha

Return of the Bad Boy Alpha Chapter 43

Magnus

Naomi gasps when her grandmother leans in to tell her the purpose of her visit. My mate looks at me and then at her grandmother. "How did you know?" "Your mother told me, dear," Abigail squeezes Naomi's arm.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Why don't we go up to the apartment," I suggest.

"That sounds lovely, Gamma," Abigail waggles her eyebrows at me. "I knew you would make it big one of these days. Your father only saw the mischief you caused." I shudder slightly. "You weren't around, Abigail. How did you know what I did?"

"Why, Maureen, of course. She told me everything that happened in that pack. My grandson got in trouble for burning the pack house down as well," She laughs. I cringe, and Abigail touches my arm. "I have moved past that."

"Oh, I see that," Abigail smirks.

I look at the guards who are standing nearby. "She is with us, fellas," I tell them.

"Shall we inform the King?" One of them asks.

"Sure," I respond and start to herd Naomi and her grandmother into the palace. Abigail looks around with astonishment as we walk toward the elevators. "Where have you been all of these years, Grandma?" Naomi asks.

"I'll tell you when we get somewhere more private, dear," Abigail responds.

Naomi pauses with a cringe on her face. She touches her belly, and I know the pups are kicking her. "Are you okay, baby?" I ask.

"They are just moving around a lot," She responds.

I touch her belly, and the pups kick my hand. One is more forceful than the other. I lean down, "Ease up on your Mama, kids," I whisper, and they settle down.

"Thank you," Naomi huffs, and I kiss her forehead.

We get to the elevators and quietly wait. The doors open, and Beta Rocky Bedford walks out and eyes us.

"Letting random riff-raff into the palace, are we, Gamma?" He sneers.

"Go on up, ladies," I say to Naomi and her grandmother. They smile and step onto the elevator. "She is Naomi's grandmother," I inform him.

Rocky glances at the now closed doors, "The Blythe wolf?"

I hate that Kerry insisted that I let Rocky know about my daughter being a Blythe wolf, and he was let in on Naomi's grandmother being one too. "Yes," I respond through gritted teeth. "We should have been informed of her visit," Rocky snarls.

"She just showed up," I respond. "Was I supposed to turn her away?"

"You should have asked the King and me," He insists.

"What harm is it going to cause?" I huff.

"She is a blasted Blythe wolf, you idiot," Rocky hisses.

"Which you knew nothing about a few months ago. So keep your trap shut, and there won't be any problems," I step toward him.

"The king will hear of this," Rocky shouts.

"Hear of what?" Kerry speaks up, and we turn to him.

"Kerry, Gamma Bowie is harboring a Blythe wolf," Rocky tattles.

Kerry looks at me with a raised eyebrow, "Magnus?"

"Naomi's grandmother just showed up," I respond. "Abigail and Naomi went on up to our suite. I told the guard to inform you," I explained to my friend.

Kerry shrugs, "It's alright, Magnus," He glances at Rocky. "What has you so huffy, Rocky?"

"She is a Blythe wolf," Rocky whines.

"I am aware of that, Beta," Kerry chuckles. "She is safe in these walls. I assume she is here to talk about your daughter's wolf?" Kerry looks at me, and I nod. "Kerry," Rocky whines.

"I said it was fine, Rocky." Kerry snarls at him. "Go on up, Magnus. I need to talk to my beta."

"Thank you, Kerry," I pat his shoulder and press the button on the elevator. I feel Rocky's eyes burning a hole in my back and try to ignore him. I step into the elevator, and he is glaring at me. I smirk and wave as the doors close. 'I hate that guy,' Kairos grumbles. 'We need to keep an eye on him, Magnus,' My wolf adds.

'I agree,' I respond.

I walk into the suite, Naomi sits on the couch with her feet up, and I hear rustling in the kitchen.

"Grandma is making us dinner," Naomi says with her hand on her belly.

"She doesn't have to do that," I mumble and walk into the kitchen.

Abigail has a frozen chicken in the sink, and I watch as she touches it and defrosts it almost instantly, and I gasp. She turns to me with a smile. "I'm making dinner."

"You don't have to do that, Abigail. You are our guest," I tell her.

She rolls her eyes, "I want to cook for my granddaughter."

I watch her take the now defrosted chicken and place it in a pan. "You have powers?" I question.

She nods while putting spices and other things on the chicken, "Yes, Magnus."

"I thought your mother repressed your powers," I continue.

"They were," Abigail turns to me while wiping her hands with a towel. "I had Florence reverse the spell some years ago. I hated having Gaia repressed."

"Is that why you have been gone so much?" I ask, and she nods slowly.

"I will explain everything to you and Naomi during dinner," She responds. "Now, go sit in the living room with your mate. Dinner will be ready soon."

"But-" I start to say, but the old woman pushes me out of the kitchen with more strength than I was expecting. I wander into the living room, and Naomi has the TV on Food Network, but she is asleep on the couch. I sit quietly beside her, and she jumps and opens her eyes. I place my hand on her arm, "Sorry, sweetie."

She blinks her eyes and then closes them again.

I lean over and kiss her cheek, "Get some rest, baby," I whisper and stand up. I go into our room and change into sweatpants and a t-shirt. I also let my hair down. It has grown past my shoulders. I smell roasted chicken as I walk into the living room. Naomi is awake and watching TV. I sit beside her and place my hand on her large belly. The pups kick my hand, and Naomi cringes. "Sorry."

"No, it's alright," She mumbles and places her hand over mine.

I lay my face against her belly and relish the feeling of my pups moving around in their mother's womb. I close my eyes, and the next thing I know, Abigail is waking us up.

"Wake up, kids," She chuckles. "Dinner is ready."

I sit up and inhale the heavenly scent of roasted chicken, "It smells awesome, Abigail."

"Call me Grandma, Magnus," She laughs.

I help Naomi to her feet, and we walk into the dining room where Abigail has set up. Naomi sits down while I plate food for her. We sit in silence, eating dinner before any attempt at conversation is made.

"You had Florence reverse the suppression on your wolf and powers?" I break the silence. Naomi's eyes go wide as she looks at her grandmother.

Abigail finishes chewing her food and takes a sip of cider. She eyes Naomi. "The reason that I am not around much is because I had Florence reverse my repression. I couldn't feel the mate bond to your grandfather. I knew Daniel was my mate, but I didn't feel the tingles and everything else that others feel, and I wanted to feel it."

"Is that why you had to stay away?" Naomi asks quietly.

Abigail nods, "Yes, dear. Once I lifted the repression, those who hunt our kind could detect me, and I had to flee the pack. Your grandfather came with me but was killed a week after we left the pack. I had to stay moving almost continuously as I didn't have a handle on my powers. I finally came across a coven of witches that helped hide me and get a handle on my powers. After that, I just started traveling. I returned to Blue Meadow from time to time to visit my son, Geoffery, and I did go to Ghost River to visit Maureen and my grandpups. But for the most part, I either stayed with the ladies in the coven or just traveled."

"Wow, Grandma," Naomi touches Abigail's wrist. "I never knew. Mom doesn't talk about you a lot."

"Maureen resents me," Abigail sighs. "She never fully understood why I left even though I explained it."

There is a moment of silence before Naomi clears her throat. "So, what kind of powers do Blythe wolves have? The books say nothing about it. They just say they exist."

"Well, we don't cast spells like witches. However, anyone can learn to cast minor spells. I have become somewhat adept at healing thanks to Frieda," Abigail pauses. "Frieda is my partner." "Lover?" Naomi asks.

"You could say that," Abigail smirks. "Does that bother you?"

Naomi shakes her head, "No. My best friend Greyson is gay."

"Oh, I remember Greyson," Abigail chuckles. "Anyways, that's another reason your mother and I have problems being around each other. She thinks I am betraying Daniel, but that's not it. Frieda has been there for me in the darkest of times. Anyways, Blythe wolves have different powers. I can control fire and a few other elements. Some Blythe wolves are good as mental powers like telekinesis." She takes another sip of cider. "Anyways, the reason I came is to discuss your daughter. Maureen did tell me about her possibly being a Blythe wolf."

"We were fighting with a warlock named Bram Abraxas, and he wanted some book," Naomi explains.

"The Grimoire," Abigail nods.

"You know about it?" Naomi asks, and her grandmother nods. "Anyways, it chose me."

"Interesting." Abigail sighs and stands up. "May I feel your belly," She asks, and Naomi nods. Abigail places her hand on my mate's belly, and her eyes glow yellow. She is quiet for a minute while Naomi and I stare at her. Abigail says something in Latin, and then her eyes stop glowing. "Most definitely a Blythe wolf," she looks at Naomi. "A powerful one too. There will be many after her." Naomi frowns, "Do I have to repress her powers too?"

"I have a proposal that would prevent that. Like any other wolf, Blythe wolves shift for the first time at sixteen. Shortly after that, the powers will start to manifest, and-" Abigail takes a deep breath. "I propose that you send your daughter to me. My coven will keep her safe, and we will teach her how to channel her powers."

"Will we be able to see her?" Naomi asks.

Abigail presses her lips together. "Not for at least four years, Naomi. The coven lives in isolation in a location I cannot reveal. She will be safe, Naomi. Once she masters her powers and can mask them, she will be able to visit." Naomi looks at me. "What do you think, Magnus?"

I look long and hard at my mate and glance at her belly. The thought of not seeing my daughter pains me. "She'll be safe?"

"She won't ever be entirely safe, Magnus. Your daughter will always be hunted, but at least she will have learned how to defend herself," Abigail explains.

Naomi clasps my hand, and we look into each other eyes. "I think we should do it."

"We'll have her for sixteen years," I sigh.

"Yeah," Naomi responds and strokes her belly. "It's not like we would lose her forever."

'Kairos?' I ask my wolf.

'Ruby agrees that it's for the best. He responds.

I look at Abigail, "We agree, Grandma."

Abigail nods, "In the meantime, you will have to be extra vigilant to keep her safe from harm."

A chill runs through my body as I think about it. "She will live here, and I believe we have the best security."

"I must leave in the morning. I can never stay in the open for long. I don't want to draw too much attention here," Abigail sighs.

"We are safe here, Grandma," Naomi pleads. "I want you to meet my pups."

"Oh, I will be back, dear. But I don't want to endanger this lovely kingdom. Besides, I want to go visit Maureen and your siblings before I go home," Abigail tells Naomi.

We finish our meal, and I help Abigail clean up. "Thank you for dinner," I tell her. "It was delicious."

Abigail looks up at me. "I am so glad the Goddess blessed Naomi with you as a mate. I knew you would get past your troubles and become an outstanding man, Magnus Bowie. I saw your heart even when you gave your father grey hair."

I can't help but smile, "I am her second chance, mate."

Abigail runs her hand through my hair, "The best chance. It's not going to be easy keeping your daughter safe, but I know you will be able to. You are a strong man."

"Thank you, Abi- Grandma."

She hugs me, and then we walk out of the kitchen. Naomi is dozing off on the couch, so I gently wake her.

"You should go to bed, dear," Abigail tells her. "Goodnight, dear. And may you have a smooth birth and beautiful pups," Abigail hugs Naomi. "I love you."

"I love you, too, Grandma," Naomi sniffles.

I help my mate to her feet and help her into our bedroom and bed. I tuck her in, kiss her on the forehead, and then help Abigail settle into the guest room. I finally get to lie beside my sleeping mate. She is snoring softly, and I put my arm around her belly, and she snuggles into me, and I fall asleep quickly.

"Magnus!" Naomi's distressed voice wakes me up, and I find she isn't in bed.

"Naomi?" I call back as I sit on the bed and see the light on in the bathroom. I rush in to find her on the floor, clutching her belly. "Naomi?"

"The pups are coming," She replies.
