Chapter 27
She was dropped from all the projects…
How was that possible?
“Just this morning, the news came in. The investors of the other scripts you accepted sent letters of cancellation and termination of the contract at the same time. It was as though there was some sort of unanimous agreement between them…”
Bella’s face darkened.
They terminated the contract at the same time?
She did not understand why.
Were these not the same people who had begged her to work in their films? What was wrong with them?
Did they forget how desperate they had been?
“Where’s the manager? Where’s my manager?! Why am I only hearing about something this big now?” Bella was furious.
“The manager left behind just a resignation letter…” The assistant passed her the letter.
Bella’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Her manager was a top agent in the industry.
When she was just an extra on the filing sets, this particular manager suddenly approached her. She had claimed that she saw potential in Bella and wanted to work with the latter.
All these years, her manager had arranged everything for her. It had made her famous in the industry.
But her manager had just left without a word?
“Why did she resign?” Bella asked with a grim face.
“She didn’t tell me anything, but her face changed after she got a call. I heard her say, ‘She reaps what she sows.‘ Then, she just left,” said the assistant.
Bella’s face froze.
“She reaps what she sows…” Bella muttered and frowned. C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
Had she done something wrong?
She tried to recall everything she had done, but she could not understand what she had done wrong.
“Hmph! What does it matter if I get canceled? Who cares if my manager quits? They’re all a bunch of idiots! I don’t care!” said Bella coldly.
Her voice was so full of contempt and anger that it was hard to think that she did not care about it.
After she had become famous, she looked down on everyone.
Everyone flattered her, which only stoked her ego. She was always haughty and arrogant.
This setback made her furious, and she cursed everyone for failing to see her value.
“You! Go and put a word out that I have an open schedule now,” she said to her assistant.
The assistant obeyed.
Bella angrily sat down on the couch, and she pulled out her phone.
She was confident that she would be contacted by famous directors and investors in no time.
In her mind, she knew that the small–time directors who had groveled at her feet and those she had rejected would certainly contact her since she had released the news of her open schedule. Would it not be crazy if they did not leap at the chance?
“I, Bella Wyatt, am a popular actress. A real box office guarantee! It’s not like I’ll have trouble finding a role,” she muttered to herself with a smirk.
She could already see herself starring in the next big hit, which would make her manager and all the ungrateful people regret dropping her.
Even ten minutes later, her phone did not ring, and Bella grew impatient.
“Maybe they haven’t heard the news yet,” she said to herself reassuringly.
Half an hour passed… an hour passed…
She waited for two whole hours, yet nobody called or texted Bella.
The only sound was from a system notification, which made her excited for nothing.
Her face darkened even more, and she immediately called her assistant.
“It’s been so long. Did anybody contact you?” she asked.
“Bella, I’ve been watching carefully. If someone contacts me, I’ll tell you immediately,” said the assistant anxiously.
Bella was furious.
“Within three days, some big–time director or investor will come to me with a script and beg me to work with them!” she said confidently.
