I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 531

Chapter 531 Foolish

The crowd discussed animatedly as they hurried back to the office to publish the breaking news. Curtis received the message and turned to Benjamin. He said, "Mr. Martin, it's all taken care of."

"Right, take me to the office," Benjamin responded in a low voice, then closed his eyes and leaned back in the rear seat, remaining silent.

Winnie sat still on the other side, not daring to come closer until the car stopped at the entrance of the Martin Group. As Benjamin got out of the vehicle, Winnie quickly said, "Mr. Martin, I..."Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Benjamin didn't look at her, nor did he speak to her; he just left everything to Curtis to handle.

After Benjamin entered the office, Curtis told Winnie, "The driver will take you home later. Once you're home, have him dispose of your clothes. Stay in your apartment and lay low for a while. If anyone asks where you were last night, you know what to say, right?" Winnie nodded, feeling a bit downhearted. "Mr. Yost, is that all there is to it?"

"What else did you expect?" Curtis asked with a chuckle, then casually added, "If I were you, I wouldn't ask such foolish questions. I'd seize this opportunity to completely reinvent myself. If you stay grounded and avoid any inappropriate thoughts, you'll definitely go far in this industry."

Stunned, Winnie only came to her senses after Curtis had left. She sat in the car as the driver took her home.

She mulled over Curtis's words. Don't be lovesick. Focus on the career. That's what matters.

She reminded herself internally that as long as she had bread, everything else would follow. Benjamin was someone she shouldn't even dream about. It was time to stop thinking about him and focus on being a good person and doing good work.

Benjamin returned to the office, and photos and videos of him leaving the hotel with "Lauren" surfaced online, sparking an instant sensation.

However, employees at the Martin Group were hardly phased. Working at such a significant company, they were seasoned in handling pressure, so there wasn't much of a reaction.

However, Lily was livid after seeing

the news. She called Benjamin immediately and as soon as he answered, she bombarded him with questions. "What are you thinking? Have you started to stay out all night? Are you still a member of our Martin family? What are you doing? What's your relationship with that Lauren? How can you justify this to Harper, who is pregnant?"

Lily's tirade was relentless, and Benjamin was lucky not to be in front of her, or she might have gotten physical.

She didn't give Benjamin a chance to speak, and it was only when his father intervened that she calmed down a bit. "Don't get worked up. Let's talk this out. Let's hear his side of the story."

"What do you have to say?" Lily demanded coldly.

Benjamin, somewhat helpless, raised his hand and rubbed his brow. "Mom, I'm at work. As for all this gossip, just treat it as a spectacle and let it pass, okay?"

"A spectacle? What do you mean by that?"

"I mean nothing by it. I'm about to start a meeting. I'll talk to you after I'm done, alright?"

"Benjamin Martin!" She called out his name, but Benjamin had already hung up.

Lily stared at the disconnected phone, incredulous and upset, until Scott finally convinced her to trust Benjamin for now and question him later. Benjamin really had wronged Harper, they would not let him off easily.

After hanging up, Benjamin set his phone to silent. Just then, Curtis walked in and briefly updated him on the current online situation.

Netizens all speculated that there could be trouble in Benjamin's marriage to Harper.
