CHAPTER 18

Nora.
I walked down the hallway mixed with different emotions.
I couldn’t believe it.
Believe that Dimitri would sit back and watch whoever that Indy is talk to me the way she did.
Her indirect insults and sly smiles.
I felt sick to my stomach and I couldn’t stop stomping my feet so hard as I moved.
My brows furred, I bit my lower lip as I tried to suppress the anger that was about to tear me into pieces.
Her words, acts and even her voice irritated me in a way I could explain.
I could easily see the flirty eyes she used on Dimitri and the sight of it alone made me sick.
I halted at my track, my frown deepened.
Why am I feeling this way?
Is this jealousy?

I shook my head aggressively as I tried to suppress my inner voice. I was upset at the insults she threw at me and all Dimitri could do was lay back and watch her like a lost puppy.
I walked past some room and soon, I got into the bedroom I and Dimitri both shared, getting in, I shut the door and began to pace back and forth, so many thoughts traveled down my mind.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door.
Confused. I turned to it, wondering who that might be.
“Come in.” I gestured, knowing fully well that I didn’t lock the door.
The door opened and standing at the door post was the red head, the supposed Anissa
She stared at me and without waiting for an utterance from me, she woke into the room, scanning the large space.
I wasn’t pleased to see her but I tried to hide it.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, watching her walk past me.
I watched her walk closer to a portrait of Dimitri hung on the wall not far from the bed. With a smile on her face, she placed. her hand on the picture and weirdly caressed it, her eyes stared at it dreamily.
Who is she?
And what does she really want?
“I guess you must be surprise to see me here.” Anissa spoke out, not turning to me, her eyes still fixed on Dimitri’s portrait.
I frowned.
“What do you wand implored.
She scoffed and turned to me, again, her eyes scanned me and she scoffed again, rolling her a
I didn’t hide my disgust anymore.
“Do you in any way have a problem with me?” I asked.
She laughed.
“A problem!” She raised a brow, “With someone like you?”
My forehead furred. “And what is that supposed to mean?”
eyes this time.
Anissa rolled her eyes again. “A complete waste of my time. The last thing I want to stress my pretty self is being troubled by
a plain looking brunette like you. I still can’t believe that Dimitri would choose you out of all the ladies he knows.” She grinned and looked at the bed.
I was boiling with fury at her insult but I tried to control my anger and put my attitude at check.
“Say whatever you want to say and get out, I need to be alone.”
Anissa laughed.
“Come off it, you and I know that you got nothing to do. You are just too obsessed with Dimitri that your mind will be covered with his thoughts, you won’t even be able to sit your ass down. I am here because Dimitri sent me to you” This time, she looked at me and took some steps closer to where I stood.
“Dimitri sent you to me?”
She nodded.
I wasn’t pleased by it. “Why?”
“To apologize.”
I didn’t believe her. “And how do you know that I will be here?”
Anissa smirks, “A lucky guess, any lady in your shoes will run back to this bedroom. You know that a lot of us have good pleasant memories right on this bed.”
1 knew the direction she was taking, I smiled.
“Really? So you are one of Dimitri’s prostitutes?”
Her eyes flashed wide open in shock, “I beg your pardon.”
“You heard me right. You just chipped it to me that you must have had a sexual encounter with Dimitri and do I look like one who cares? You got the wrong lady, I have lots of other pressing issues and I won’t allow a silly word from a loose woman like you to spoil my day. If you have any issue or business with Dimitri, please, go and sort it out with him. I don’t understand your sudden remarks about me, I am seeing you for the first time darling so drop the hate attitude and fix your shit with Dimitri. I have no reason why he sent you here but please, you have to leave, right now!”
Anissa frowned, her eyes were shut deadly and her threatening look awoke my inner beast who howled in anger.
“Watch your mouth.” She fired, taking more steps closer to me.
I smiled.

“Are you angry?” I laughed.“Come on, you shouldn’t. I just gave you your dose of the same medicine you dished to me, why the angry looks? Please get out!” I pointed at the door.
“Argh!” She screamed, tapping her feet.
“We will meet again, I promise you this.” Saying this, she walked out of the room and shut the door after her.
Unable to explain what just occurred, I sat at the edge of the bed my eyes fixed on my growing stomach.
Hours slowly went by and I couldn’t help tossing around the bed as I wondered how Dimitri is. He warned and asked me to leave his ward, I couldn’t gather the courage to go back there.
Soon, midnight came and still, I couldn’t sleep. My insomnia was so fierce that I decided to see Dimitri.
I walked out of the bedroom and headed towards the pack clinic Soon, I got into the ward and lay on the bed with Dimitri, deep in his sleep.
I walked closer and stood beside him, staring hard at him.
I couldn’t deny how handsome he appeared, I was immediately star struck by his looks and I was tempted to run my fingers. down his long hair which scattered around the pillow.
Nora!
What the hell is wrong with you?
Why are you feeling this way and having such thoughts?
I felt guilty and turned to leave but at once, a hand grabbed me, so strong that I felt my bones ache.
Shocked, I turned around to see Dimitri staring right back at me, there was a lo
ok in his eyes that I couldn’t read.
“Don’t go, stay with me tonight, please.” He whispered and I stood still, speechless.
